Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) can provide spectrally efficient communication channels because it can utilize carrier orthogonality and various impairment mitigation methods. An optical OFDM signal can be generated electronically to multiplex lower‐rate carriers. In recent advancements, OFDM signals are also shown to be generated and demultiplexed by all‐optical discrete Fourier transform (DFT), overcoming the speed limit of electronics for >Tbps capacity. High‐performance DFT devices, such as arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) or planar lightwave circuit (PLC), are critically required to obtain strong orthogonality for scalable all‐optical OFDM (AO‐OFDM) system implementations. Advanced techniques such as coherent modulation and detection with digital impairment mitigation are also important for long‐reach AO‐OFDM transmissions. More recently, optical superchannel schemes have been introduced utilizing coherent detection for multi‐Tbps AO‐OFDM transmissions. This paper reviews the device and system aspects for the AO‐OFDM technology, including a generalized theoretical model to provide an indepth understanding.  相似文献

An isocyanide-based multicomponent reaction between cinnamic acid derivatives or 3-phenyl-2-propynoic acid, (N-isocyanimino)triphenylphosphorane, ferrocenecarbaldehyde, and dibenzylamine has been reported in excellent yields for the preparation of some new ferrocenyl-containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives. A novel extracellular lipase with organic solvent tolerance was isolated from a local Pseudomonas species. The lipase gene was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli as a heterologous host and purified by affinity chromatography. The activity of purified lipase was investigated in the presence of imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs) such as EMIM[Cl], BMIM[Cl], and HMIM[Cl]. It has been found that the activity of treated lipase with ILs was higher than untreated control in the hydrolysis reaction. Also, the results indicated that the enzymatic activity strongly depends on IL concentration in reaction media. The best concentration of the IL was 30%, 45%, and 50% (v/v) for HMIM[Cl], BMIM[Cl], and EMIM[Cl], respectively. Additionally, the enzyme exhibited excellent stability in the presence of 25% of n-hexane, toluene, acetone, and t-butanol. The optimum values of pH and temperature were determined 10 and 55 °C, respectively. The K (m) and V (max) values were calculated 0.4 mM and 1.92 U/ml, respectively, using p-nitrophenyl palmitate as substrate. With respect to the biochemical properties of the newly isolated lipase such as high-level stability and noticeable activity in the presence of organic solvents and ionic liquids, the newly isolated lipase seems to be a good candidate for environmental and industrial processes carried out in non-aqueous media.  相似文献

Zirconium(IV) oxynitrate hydrate catalyzed efficiently the condensation reactions of indoles and aldehydes in acetonitrile, under ambient conditions. The bis- or tris(indolyl)methane products were then dehydrogenated in one pot by using a stoichiometric amount of DDQ, to give conjugated chromophores that showed feasible applications as new pH indicators with excellent sensitivity in the pH range 8–10. Hypsochromic effects were observed in the presence of transition metal cations in acetonitrile with a significant color change for cobalt(II).  相似文献

We measured the fluorescence decays of seven different amino‐coumarin dyes in polymer films of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(styrene) (PS), and ethylene‐butene rubber (EBR); as well as in the small molecule analogs ethyl acetate and toluene. Many of the dye‐solvent and dye‐polymer combinations exhibited single exponential decays with lifetimes ranging from 2.3 to 3.9 ns. Small deviations from single exponential behavior occurred for most of the dyes in EBR. Significant deviations from single exponential behavior occurred for 7‐(diethylamino)‐2‐oxo‐2H‐1‐benzopyran‐3‐carboxylic acid (coumarin‐3) in ethyl acetate and in all polymer matrices and 2,3,6,7‐tetrahydro‐11‐oxo‐1H,5H,11H‐[1]benzopyrano[6,7,8‐ij]quinolizin‐10‐carboxylic acid (coumarin‐343) in all of the polymer matrices. Time‐resolved fluorescence spectra indicated the presence of two different excited states for coumarin‐3 and coumarin‐343 in PMMA; these spectra were qualitatively different from the time‐resolved spectra of coumarin‐3 in ethyl acetate. An environmentally benign, aqueous synthesis of vicinal azidoalcohols by the regioselective nucleophilic ring opening of epoxides with azide anion using silica-bound 3-((polyethyleneglycol)ethyl)-8-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium bromide as an effective heterogeneous phase transfer catalyst is described.
