A new mixed Petrov–Galerkin formulation employing the MINI element with a non-confirming bubble function for an incompressible media governed by the Stokes equations, which is equivalent to the stabilized finite element by P 1-P 1 approximation, is proposed. The new formulation possesses better stability properties than the conventional Bubnov–Galerkin formulation employing the MINI element. In this aspect, the stabilizing effect of this formulation is evaluated by a stabilizing parameter determined by both shapes of the trial and the weighting bubble functions.  相似文献

The concepts of “weak/strong topological contraction” and a generalization of Banach contraction mappings called “pp-contraction” are introduced and used to prove fixed point theorems for self-mappings from a topological/metric space into itself satisfying topological contraction/metric pp-contraction, respectively. Certain non-linear integral equations defined on C[a,b]C[a,b] satisfying generalized Lipschitzian conditions can easily be solved by applying these theorems. In the sequel, we shall study the possibility of optimally controlling the solution of the ordinary differential equation via dynamic programming.  相似文献

In this paper, we study existence and uniqueness of solutions to nonlinear three point boundary value problems for fractional differential equation of the type c D δ 0+ u(t) = f (t, u(t), c D σ 0+ u(t)), t ∈ [0, T ], u(0) = αu(η), u(T ) = βu(η), where 1 < δ < 2, 0 < σ < 1, α, β∈ R, η∈ (0, T ), αη(1 -β) + (1-α)(T βη) = 0 and c D δ 0+ , c D σ 0+ are the Caputo fractional derivatives. We use Schauder fixed point theorem and contraction mapping principle to obtain existence and uniqueness results. Examples are also included to show the applicability of our results.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a class of accretive mappings called generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mappings in Banach spaces. We prove that the proximal-point mapping of the generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mapping is single-valued and Lipschitz continuous. Further, we consider a system of generalized variational inclusions involving generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mappings in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Using proximal-point mapping method, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solution and suggest an iterative algorithm for the system of generalized variational inclusions. Furthermore, we discuss the convergence criteria of the iterative algorithm under some suitable conditions. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of some known results in the literature.  相似文献

A variant of Taylor’s (1962) [23] scraper problem, in which, the lower plate rotates is considered. The non-linear partial differential equations governing the flow of a second grade fluid are modeled and solved by using the domain perturbation technique considering the angular velocity of the rotating plate as a small parameter. Also the rheology of the second grade fluid is examined by depicting the profiles of the velocity, stream function, pressure and stress fields.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of cyclic Kannan orbital C-nonexpansive mappings and obtain the existence of a best proximity point on a pair of bounded, closed and convex subsets of a strictly convex metric space by using the geometric notion of seminormal structure. We also study the structure of minimal sets for cyclic Kannan C-nonexpansive mappings and show that results similar to the celebrated Goebel– Karlovitz lemma for nonexpansive self-mappings can be obtained for cyclic Kannan C-nonexpansive mappings.  相似文献
