The reduction of microcrystalline C60 fullerene, adhered at a carbon electrode and immersed in aqueous electrolyte, has been studied under various voltammetric conditions. This work reports mainly the voltammetric studies carried out principally in electrolyte containing potassium ions. Comparison of adherence techniques, such as solvent casting and mechanical transfer methods, are made to assess if the type of adhered techniques has any significant influence on the observed electrochemistry. The solvent casting method is found to produce three peaks in the potential for C600/n- redox couple as compared to a single and large peak produced when a mechanical transfer technique is employed. When the reduction potential of microcrystalline C60 in the presence of K+ is compared with other cations, such as Li, Na, Rb and Cs, it is observed that the shift of reduction potential follows the change in the hydration energy in the order Cs>Rb>K>Na>Li. In a mixed electrolyte study of CsCl/KCl, the reduction potential and peak shape of C600/n- redox couple during cyclic voltammetry is observed to change with concentration of the cations and the observed electrochemistry can be attributed to a cation-exchange mechanism. The reduction of C60 is irreversible in aqueous electrolyte containing alkaline cations as the re-oxidation process does not produce any observed electro-activity. Evidence of the formation of a passive coating of K n C60 fulleride, which does not appear to undergo dissolution is obtained under cyclic voltametric conditions. This coating remains electrochemically active in the presence of tetrabutylammonium ions in acetonitrile. Scan rate, chronocoulometric, and scanning electron microscopic studies provide evidence of the presence of a surface process involving solid–solid transformation.  相似文献

A quantitative analysis method for penicillins including ampicillin (AmP), benzyl penicillin (BP), oxacillin (OA) and amoxycillin (AmO) is proposed that makes use of the totally internally reflected resonance light scattering (TIR-RLS) signal from the penicillin at the H2O/CCl4 interface in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB), and enables the pharmacokinetics of penicillin taken orally and excreted through urine to be monitored. Penicillin is coadsorbed with CTMAB at the H2O/CCl4 interface in neutral solution, resulting in the formation of ion associates that display greatly enhanced TIR-RLS signals (maximum at 368–372 nm). This enhanced TIR-RLS intensity was found to be proportional to the penicillin concentration over the range 0.2×10–6 to 2.2×10–6 mol L–1, with limits of determination (3) of 5.0×10–8 to 7.0×10–8 mol L–1. Pharmacokinetics studies performed using the present method show that the excretion of orally-taken ampicillin through urine has a half-time of 1.05 h and an excremental quantum over 8 h of 49.3%, respectively.  相似文献

Privileged biaryl frameworks, BINOL and NOBIN, were efficiently constructed with sole 1-DNQs as arylation reagents under one set of reaction conditions. The judicious selection of palladium-catalytic system plays a pivotal role in the excellent selectivities. This transformation accommodated fairly broad substrate generality for both 2-naphthol and N-Boc-2-naphthylamine and afforded the structurally diversified BINOLs and NOBIN derivatives in high efficiency. Notably, the bromosubstituents which cannot survive in conventional palladium-catalyzed reactions were well-compatible with this set of conditions, providing an effective handle for further enriching the library of BINOLs and NOBINs. Preliminary attempts on the asymmetric variant of this reaction were also performed with up to 80:20 er for BINOLs synthesis.  相似文献

The phosphapalladacycle derived from 1-(2',5'-dimethylphenyl)ethyldiphenylphosphine has been prepared in the optically active and racemic forms. The phosphine was synthesized as a racemate by the treatment of 1-chloro-1-(2',5'-dimethylphenyl)ethane with sodium diphenylphosphide in THF. The racemic phosphapalladacycle was subsequently obtained as the chloro-bridged dimer by the treatment of the phosphine with palladium(II) acetate followed by anion metathesis with lithium chloride. Alternatively, the phosphine could be optically resolved via metal complexation using (R,R)-bis(mu-chloro)bis{1-[1-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl]naphthyl-C(2),N}dipalladium(II) as the resolving agent. An efficient separation of the resulting diastereomeric complexes was achieved by silica gel chromatography. The obtained optically resolved diastereomers were next subject to chemoselective removal of the (R)-N,N-(dimethylamino)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethylaminate auxiliary by treatment with concentrated hydrochloric acid. This process yielded the binuclear dimer complexes containing the resolved eta(1)-P ligand. Cyclopalladation of the coordinated phosphine could next be performed by treatment of its eta(1)-P binuclear dimer with silver(I) hexafluorophosphate(V) in a dichloromethane/water mixture followed by treatment with lithium chloride, giving rise to a pair of optically pure enantiomeric dimers with [alpha](D) -322 and +319 degrees in CH(2)Cl(2). Despite the possibilities of the phosphine to attain a five- membered structure by ortho-palladation or a six-membered ring formation by aliphatic C-H bond activation, only the former was observed. X-ray crystallographic data of the meso dimer and an acetylacetonate derivative indicated that the phosphapalladacycle alpha-C methyl substituent was axially located. The 2-D (1)H-(1)H ROESY spectrum of the acetylacetonate derivative further revealed that the phosphapalladacycle was conformationally rigid in CDCl(3).  相似文献

The blends of poly(N-methyldodecano-12-lactam) (MPA) with poly(styrene-co-acrylic acid) (PSAA) prepared from dioxane solutions were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The experimental DSC data of glass transition temperature Tg as a function of composition of amorphous phase were fitted for the as-prepared and re-scanned samples using theoretical approaches. The as-prepared blends show monotonic single-Tg dependence. The values of the Gordon-Taylor coefficient not far from unity suggest miscibility of the blend system in amorphous phase in the whole concentration range. As documented by FTIR, this miscibility is associated with hydrogen bonds between COOH groups of the acrylic acid units in PSAA molecules acting as the H-bond donor and CO groups of MPA acting as the H-bond acceptor. The Tg-dependencies obtained form the second runs have a profound sigmoid character. The Schneider treatment induced an idea of partial limited miscibility in the MPA/PSAA blends caused by prevalence of homogeneous contacts. The difference in Tg between the first and second run can partly be attributed to higher crystallinities in the former.  相似文献

Novel transesterification of acetylated maritime pine sapwood (Pinus pinaster Soland) reaction was performed with tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) in presence of dibutyltin oxide as a catalyst. Transesterification was confirmed by weight percent gain calculations (WPG), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) as well as 13C and 29Si NMR CP-MAS analysis. The results showed that transesterification indeed occurs via exchange of acetate groups from acetylated wood and methoxysilane groups from TMOS. The effect of temperatures and reaction time upon transesterification efficiency was also investigated.  相似文献

With the use of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy the structure and morphology of montmorillonite (MMT), a material of current interest for use in polymer nanocomposites, was characterized. Using both imaging theory and experiment, the procedures needed to generate lattice images from MMT were established. These procedures involve careful control of the microscope's objective lens defocus to maximize contrast from features of a certain size, as well as limiting the total dose of electrons received by the sample. Direct images of the MMT lattice were obtained from neat Na+ MMT, organically modified MMT, and organically modified MMT/epoxy nanocomposites. The degree of crystallinity and turbostratic disorder were characterized using electron diffraction and high-resolution electron microscopy (HREM). Also, the extent of the MMT sheets to bend when processed into an epoxy matrix was directly visualized. A minimum radius of curvature tolerable for a single MMT sheet during bending deformation was estimated to be 15 nm, and from this value a critical failure strain of 0.033 was calculated. HREM can be used to improve the understanding of the structure of polymer nanocomposites at the nanometer-length scale.  相似文献

We have used the pair distribution function (PDF) method to gain insight into the mechanism of contraction of zeolite chabazite. Using this method we followed how the interatomic distances of the local structure changed with temperature. By optimization of the structure by free energy minimization and using the Reverse Monte Carlo technique we were able to find structural models at low and at high temperatures that agreed quantitatively with our experimental PDFs. From these models we conclude that the mechanism of contraction with temperature cannot involve rocking of the tetrahedra as rigid unit modes as there are distortions of the tetrahedra with temperature (indicating internal vibrations) and also that the mechanism of contraction probably involves a mode that translates along the Si-O3-Si-O4-Si linkages inside of the D6R of zeolite chabazite.  相似文献

Mesoporous silica materials with pore structures such as 2D hexagonal close packed, bicontinuous cubic, lamellar, sponge, wormhole-like, and rectangular have been made by using surfactant templating sol-gel processes. However, there are still some "intermediate" phases, in particular mesh phases, that are formed by surfactants but which have not been made into analogous silica pore structures. Here, we describe the one-step synthesis of mesoporous silica with a mesh phase pore structure. The cationic fluorinated surfactant 1,1,2,2-tetrahydroperfluorodecylpyridinium chloride (HFDePC) is used as the template. Like many fluorinated surfactants, HFDePC forms intermediate phases in water (including a mesh phase) over a wider range of compositions than do hydrocarbon surfactants. The materials produced by this technique are novel elongated particles in which the layers of the mesh phase are oriented orthogonal to the main axis of the particles.  相似文献

Amplified quenching of a conjugated polyelectrolyte by cyanine dyes   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The conjugated polyelectrolyte PPESO3 features a poly(phenylene ethynylene) backbone substituted with anionic 3-sulfonatopropyloxy groups. PPESO3 is quenched very efficiently (KSV > 10(6) M(-1)) by cationic energy transfer quenchers in an amplified quenching process. In the present investigation, steady-state and picosecond time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy are used to examine amplified quenching of PPESO3 by a series of cyanine dyes via singlet-singlet energy transfer. The goal of this work is to understand the mechanism of amplified quenching and to characterize important parameters that govern the amplification process. Steady-state fluorescence quenching of PPESO3 by three cationic oxacarbocyanine dyes in methanol solution shows that the quenching efficiency does not correlate with the Forster radius computed from spectral overlap of the PPESO3 fluorescence with the cyanines' absorption. The quenching efficiency is controlled by the stability of the polymer-dye association complex. When quenching studies are carried out in water where PPESO3 is aggregated, changes observed in the absorption and fluorescence spectra of 1,1',3,3,3',3'-hexamethylindotricarbocyanine iodide (HMIDC) indicate that the polymer templates the formation of a J-aggregate of the dye. The fluorescence dynamics in the PPESO3/HMIDC system were probed by time-resolved upconversion and the results show that PPESO3 to HMIDC energy transfer occurs on two distinctive time scales. At low HMIDC concentration, the dynamics are dominated by an energy transfer pathway with a time scale faster than 4 ps. With increasing HMIDC concentration, an energy pathway with a time scale of 0.1-1 ns is active. The prompt pathway (tau < 4 ps) is attributed to quenching of delocalized PPESO3 excitons created near the HMIDC association site, whereas the slow phase is attributed to intra- and interchain exciton diffusion to the HMIDC.  相似文献
