We use a multiscale approach to study a lattice-gas model of submonolayer growth of Fe/Mo (110) by Molecular Beam Epitaxy. To begin with, we construct a two-dimensional lattice-gas model of the Fe/Mo (110) system based on our first-principles calculations of the monomer diffusion barrier and adatom-adatom interactions. The model is investigated by equilibrium Monte Carlo (MC) simulations to compute the diffusion coefficients of Fe islands of different sizes. These diffusion coefficients are used as input to the coarse-grained kinetic rate equation (KRE) approach. We also evaluate effects of the range of Fe-Fe interaction, restriction of interaction to third nearest neighbors allowed to develop feasible atomistic kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) model. We calculate time evolution of the island size distributions by both KMC and KRE methods and find good agreement between the two methods.  相似文献

Some techniques for the study of the algebraic curve C(A) which generates the numerical range W(A) of an n×n matrix A as its convex hull are developed. These enable one to give an explicit point equation of C(A) and a formula for the curvature of C(A) at a boundary point of W(A). Applied to the case of a nonnegative matrix A, a simple relation is found between the curvature of the function Φ(A)=p((1?α)A+ αAT) (pbeingthePerronroot) at α=12 and the curvature of W(A) at the Perron root of 12(A+AT). A connection with 2-dimensional pencils of Hermitian matrices is mentioned and a conjecture formulated.  相似文献

The effects of ion implantation into thin films of the GbBaCuO on Si substrates without any buffer layer at 300 and 77 K have been studied. Using H+ ions, the superconducting transition temperature, the change of electrical properties from conducting to insulating, and the crystalline to amorphous structural transition in the films were studied as a function of ion dose. Electronic absorption spectroscopy was employed to study the aerial oxidation of catechol (1,2-benzenediol) in alkaline aqueous solution containing an excess of Mg(II) ions. Graphical analysis by the matrix method of UV spectra recorded at regular time intervals gave a good fit for two absorbing species in solution. Based on this result and our earlier ESR spectroscopic investigations we concluded that two main absorbing species in this system are Mg(II)-spin stabilized o-benzosemiquinone anion radical and C-C dimer formed by the nucleophilic attack of catecholate anion on o-benzoquinone. Although the formation of 1,2,4-benzenetriol during the catechol oxidation has been detected in some ESR studies its presence was not indicated by this analysis probably because of the low and/or stable steady state concentration throughout the experiment.  相似文献

Studies of structural and phase properties obtained on several ferroelectric liquid crystalline materials with 2-alkoxypropionate group used as a chiral centre and without any lateral substitution are presented. In dependence on the chiral chain length these compounds exhibit the cholesteric N* phase, the ferroelectric smectic C* and a low-temperature SmX phase. Values of the spontaneous polarization and spontaneous tilt angle have been determined within the whole range of the SmC* phase. A low-temperature SmX phase has been identified as the orthogonal hexatic SmB* phase. The molecular parameters, namely the layer spacing in the SmC* and SmB* phases and the average intermolecular distances (D) between neighbouring parallel molecules in all investigated phases have been determined using the results of the X-ray diffraction obtained on non-oriented samples. The effect of the chiral chain length on mesomorphic, structural and physical properties of the studied ferroelectric liquid crystalline materials is discussed.  相似文献

The two short-lived isomeric states in112In have been reinvestigated by means of the112Cd(d, 2n) and109Ag (α, n) reactions. Measurements of delayed X- andγ-ray, lifetime and TDPAD spectra have been performed. A 6.32(3) keVγ-ray has been identified in the isomeric decay and anM1 multipolarity has been assigned to it on the basis of the measured internal conversion coefficients:α L =196(39) andα tot=231(35). TheE1+M2(δ =+0.24(4)) andE2 multipolarities have been determined for the 263 and 188 keV transitions deexciting the 8?(T 1/2=2.82(2) μs) and 7+ (T 1/2=0.93(2) μs) isomeric states, respectively. A revised isomeric decay scheme is presented.  相似文献
