Nucleophilic addition of the peroxynitrite anion, ONOO(-), to the two prototypical carbonyl compounds, acetaldehyde and acetone, was investigated in the pH interval 7.4-14. The process is initiated by fast equilibration between the reactants and the corresponding tetrahedral adduct anion, the equilibrium being strongly shifted to the reactant side. The adduct anion also undergoes fast protonation by water and added buffers. Consequently, the rate of the bimolecular reaction between ONOO(-) and the carbonyl is strongly dependent on the pH and on the concentration of the buffer. The pK(a) of the carbonyl-ONOO adduct was estimated to be approximately 11.8 and approximately 12.3 for acetone and acetaldehyde, respectively. It is shown that both the anionic and the neutral adducts suffer fast homolysis along the weak O-O bond to yield free alkoxyl and nitrogen dioxide radicals. The yield of free radicals was determined to be about 15% with both carbonyl compounds at low and high pH, while the remainder collapses to molecular products in the solvent cage. The rate constants for the homolysis of the adducts vary from ca. 3 x 10(5) to ca. 5 x 10(6) s(-1), suggesting that they cannot act as oxidants in biological systems. This small variation around a mean value of about 10(6) s(-1) suggests that the O-O bond in the adduct is rather insensitive to its protonation state and to the nature of its carbonyl precursor. An overall reaction scheme was proposed, and all the corresponding rate constants were evaluated. Finally, thermokinetic considerations were employed to argue that the formation of dioxirane as an intermediate in the reaction of ONOO(-) with acetone is an unlikely process.  相似文献

This paper describes a novel approach for the surface modification of a cation-exchange membrane, bearing sulfonate groups, by a cationic layer. The modification procedure involved the chlorosulfonation of the sulfonate groups of the base membrane with thionyl chloride, followed by a reaction with a diamine to yield a sulfonamide bond and a terminal amine. The latter could be quaternized by reaction with methyl iodide or protonated by soaking in acidic media. The membranes were characterized in detail by attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies as well as elemental analysis to confirm that the above reactions occurred. The selectivity of these membranes toward the electrochemically assisted transport of protons versus Zn2+ metallic cations was determined during an electrodialysis in a two-compartment electrochemical cell. The data indicate a significant decrease of the transport of the metallic cations following modification of the membrane with the cationic layer. The later allows for the transport of protons from the catholyte to the anolyte compartment with much improved selectivity since the divalent cations are excluded from the membrane due to the electrostatic barrier of the cationic layer.  相似文献

Adsorbents synthesized by grafting of titania onto mesoporous silica gel surfaces at different temperatures were studied by means of nitrogen adsorption–desorption and water desorption. The pore size distribution f(Rp) of titania/silica gel depends on the titania concentration (CTiO2) and the temperature of titania synthesis. Nonuniformity of TiO2 phase is maximal at a low CTiO2 value (3.2 wt.% anatase deposited at 473 K), and two peaks of the fractal dimension distribution f(D) are observed at such a concentration of titania, but at larger CTiO2 values, only one f(D) peak is seen. More ordered filling of pores and adsorption sites by nitrogen, reflecting in the shape of adsorption energy distributions f(E) at different pressures of adsorbate, is observed for adsorbent with titania (rutile+anatase) grafted on silica gel at a higher temperature (673 K).  相似文献

The energy route to the equation of state of hard-sphere fluids is ill defined since the internal energy is just that of an ideal gas, and thus it is independent of density. It is shown that this ambiguity can be avoided by considering a square-shoulder interaction and taking the limit of vanishing shoulder width. The resulting hard-sphere equation of state coincides exactly with the one obtained through the virial route. Therefore, the energy and virial routes to the equation of state of hard-sphere fluids can be considered as equivalent.  相似文献

Summary [RuCl2(PPh3)3], [{RuCl2(TPPMS)2}2] and their heterogenized analogs were applied in the selective hydrogenation of 17-keto- and α,β-unsaturated ketosteroids. In basic conditions these complexes selectively hydrogenated the C=O bonds, similarly to the results obtained in the case of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes. A new method was developed for the synthesis of an expensive steroid alcohol, which can be prepared traditionally in a more complicated way.  相似文献

As an illustration of how cyclic voltammetry can be used to unravel the mechanisms and kinetics of redox enzymes, the reductive dechlorination of trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene by a typical reductive dehalogenase, the tetrachloroethene reductive dehalogenase of Sulfurospirillum multivorans (formerly called Dehalospirillum multivorans), was investigated by means of several electrochemically generated cosubstrates. They comprised the monocation and the neutral form of methylviologen, the neutral form of benzylviologen, and cobaltocene. Cyclic voltammetry is used to produce the active form of the cosubstrate under controlled potential conditions. It shows large plateau-shaped catalytic responses, which are used to measure the kinetics of the enzymatic reaction as a function of the substrate and cosubstrate concentrations. The variation of the rate constant for the cosubstrate reaction with its standard potential shows the transition between two asymptotic behaviors, one in which the reaction is under diffusion control and the other in which it is under counter-diffusion control. Simple fitting of this plot allows an estimation of the standard potential of the electron acceptor center in the enzyme (E degrees = -0.57 V vs NHE).  相似文献

Raman spectra of electrochemically charged single-wall carbon nanotubes (HiPco) were studied by five different laser photon energies between 1.56 and 1.92 eV. The bands of radial breathing modes (RBM) were assigned to defined chiralities by using the experimental Kataura plot. The particular (n,m) tubes exhibit different sensitivity to electrochemical doping, monitored as the attenuation of the RBM intensities. Tubes which are in good resonance with the exciting laser exhibit strong doping-induced drop of the RBM intensity. On the other hand, tubes whose optical transition energy is larger than the energy of an exciting photon show only small changes of their RBM intensities upon doping. This rule presents a tool for analysis of mixtures of single-walled carbon tubes of unknown chiralities. It also asks for a re-interpretation of some earlier results which were reported on the diameter-selectivity of doping. The radial breathing mode in strongly n- or p-doped nanotubes exhibited a blue-shift. A suggested interpretation follows from the charging-induced structural changes of SWCNTs bundles, which also includes a partial de-bundling of tube ropes.  相似文献

The thermal behaviour of tetrahydroperparine (THP) and its derivatives with various acids has been investigated. The acid is liberated from the formate derivative basically in two steps, while the other aliphatic acids are released quantitatively before the thermal decomposition of the THP molecule. The thermoanalytical curves, electrical conductivity data measured in the molten phase, and infrared spectra prove that while part of the formic acid is hydrogen-bonded the other part is bound ionically in the molecule. It may be assumed that the marked biological activity of the compound can be explained by this difference in the nature of the bonds.  相似文献

The symmetric digold(II)dichloride bis(ylide) complex [Au2Cl2(mu-{CH2}2PPh2)2] reacts with acetylides to form the asymmetric heterovalent gold(I)/gold(III) complexes [AuI(mu-{CH2}2PPh2)2AuIII(CCR)2] [R = Ph, tBu, and SiMe3], the phenyl analogue of which was characterized by X-ray crystallography. These compounds represent the first examples of gold(III) complexes containing two acetylide ligands. [AuI(mu-{CH2}2PPh2)2AuIII(CCPh)2] undergoes a reversible comproportionation reaction upon treatment with [Ag(ClO4)tht] to give the symmetric digold(II) cationic complex [Au2(tht)2(mu-{CH2}2PPh2)2](ClO4)2. If this complex is treated with phenylacetylene in the presence of base, the heterovalent gold(I)/gold(III) complex is re-formed. This reversible interconversion between binuclear gold(I)/gold(III) and digold(II) bis(ylide) complexes is unprecedented.  相似文献
