Presented here is a radically novel approach to reduce concentration polarization and, potentially, also fouling by colloids present in aqueous feeds: magnetically responsive micromixing membranes. Hydrophilic polymer chains, poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA), were grafted via controlled surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP) on the surface of polyamide composite nanofiltration (NF) membranes and then end-capped with superparamagnetic iron oxide magnetite (Fe(3)O(4)) nanoparticles. The results of all functionalization steps, that is, bromide ATRP initiator immobilization, SI-ATRP, conversion of PHEMA end groups from bromide to amine, and carboxyl-functional Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticle immobilization via peptide coupling, have been confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). These nanoparticles experience a magnetic force as well as a torque under an oscillating external magnetic field. It has been shown, using particle image velocimetry (PIV), that the resulting movement of the polymer brushes at certain magnetic field frequencies induces mixing directly above the membrane surface. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that with such membranes the NF performance could significantly be improved (increase of flux and salt rejection) by an oscillating magnetic field, which can be explained by a reduced concentration polarization in the boundary layer. However, the proof-of-concept presented here for the active alteration of macroscopic flow via surface-anchored micromixers based on polymer-nanoparticle conjugates has much broader implications.  相似文献

Two types of biodegradable poly(ε-caprolactone (CLo))-co-poly(ε-caprolactam (CLa)) copolymers were prepared by catalyzed hydrolytic ring-opening polymerization. For the first type of materials, the respective cyclic comonomers were added simultaneously in the reaction medium leading to the formation of copolymers having a random distribution of co-units within the polyesteramide sequence, as evidenced by 1H and 13C NMR. For the second type of copolymers, the cyclic comonomers were added sequentially in the reaction medium yielding diblock polyesteramides, again evidenced by NMR. The thermal and thermo-mechanical properties of the copolymers were investigated by DSC and DMA and correlated with the copolymer topology and composition. The copolymers were characterized by a storage modulus and α transition temperature intermediate to the modulus and Tg of the corresponding homopolymers. The chemical composition and molecular weight of the copolymers proved to have only a limited effect on the thermo-mechanical properties of the materials. The hydrolytic degradation of random copolymers was studied in a phosphate buffer at 60 °C and discussed in terms of chemical composition and molecular weight of the copolymers.  相似文献

Oligonucleotides containing (2′-deoxy-β-D -xylofuranosyl)guanine have been prepared. For this purpose 2-aminoadenosine ( 5 ) was synthesized and converted to 2′-deoxy-β-D -xyloguanosine ( 1 ). The related 2′-deoxy-β-D -xyloisoguanosine ( 3 ) and 2′-deoxy-β-D -xyloxanthosine ( 4 ) were also synthesized. Compound 1 was converted to the phosphonate and phosphoramidite building blocks 10 and 11 , respectively. The oligodeoxynucleotide (5′-3′)d(xG-xT-xA-xG-xA-xA-xT-xT-xC-xT-xA-xC-T) ( 18 ) formed a duplex with the same Tm as the parent (5′-3′)-(G-T-A-G-A-A-T-T-C-T-A-C) ( 19 ), but with an inverted CD spectrum.  相似文献

The reactions of Au(OH)3, M2CO3 (M = Li, Na, Rb), and methanesulfonic acid at elevated temperatures in sealed glass ampoules lead to single crystals of M[Au(CH3SO3)4] (M = Li, Na, Rb). In the crystal structures of Li[Au(CH3SO3)4] (tetragonal, I$\bar{4}$ , Z = 2,a = 938.64(2) pm, c = 917.01(3) pm, V = 807.93(4) Å3) and Rb[Au(CH3SO3)4] (tetragonal, P$\bar{4}$ 21c, Z = 2, a = 946.7(1) pm,c = 889.9(1) pm, V = 797.6(2) Å3) the complex aurate anions are linked by the M+ ions in three dimensions. Contrastingly, in the structure of Na[Au(CH3SO3)4] (triclinic, P$\bar{4}$ , Z = 1, a = 540.04(2) pm,b = 863.75(2) pm, c = 973.29(3) pm, α = 72.694(2)°, β = 75.605(2)°, γ = 77.687(2)°, V = 415.05(2) Å3) the complex anions are connected into layers that are further connected by weak hydrogen bonds. The thermal decomposition of Li[Au(CH3SO3)4] was monitored up to 500 °C and leads in a multi‐step process to elemental gold and Li2SO4.  相似文献

The reaction of ReCl5 and fuming sulfuric acid (25 % SO3) in a sealed glass tube at 200 °C led to red, needle shaped single crystals of Re2O4Cl4(SO4) (monoclinic, C2/c, a = 1501.8(2) pm, b = 1545.9(2) pm, c = 945.18(8) pm, β = 98.761(9)°, Z = 8). In the crystal structure the [ReO2] moieties are linked by [SO4]2– tetrahedra to chains along the [101] direction. Each sulfate ion connects four rhenium atoms, additional two chloride ions complete the octahedral coordination sphere of each rhenium atom according to $\rm^1_\infty$ [ReO2/1Cl2/1(SO4)2/4].  相似文献

Vilsmeier formylation is one of the most widely used substitution reactions for the functionalization of porphyrins. However, its utility is limited by the electrophilic/acidic reaction conditions, deactivation of the aromatic system and regiochemical problems, the requirement for metal complexes and necessity for subsequent demetalation under harsh conditions, and low functional group tolerance. To overcome these limitations, the dithianyl group has been utilized as a latent formyl synthon in porphyrin chemistry. 2-Formyl-1,3-dithiane can be used directly in pyrrole condensation reactions to regioselectively yield porphyrins with up to four dithianyl residues. Likewise, 5-dithianyldipyrromethane could be prepared quantitatively as a key building block for various porphyrin condensation reactions yielding the respective free base formylporphyrins after deprotection. Additionally, dithianyllithium can be used as a reagent for the direct aromatic substitution of metallo- and free base porphyrins under nucleophilic conditions.  相似文献

A concise total synthesis of dictyodendrin B (1) is reported, a scarce marine alkaloid endowed with promising telomerase inhibitory activity. Key steps of the chosen route are a reductive cyclization of ketoamide 11 to indole 12 mediated by low-valent titanium (from TiCl3 and KC8) followed by a photochemical 6pi-electrocyclization, which was performed in the presence of Pd/C and nitrobenzene to effect concomitant dehydrogenation/aromatization of the product initially formed. Regioselective bromination of the resulting pyrrolocarbazole 13 followed by lithium/bromine exchange and quenching of the resulting organolithium species with p-methoxybenzaldehyde installed the side chain at C2. Oxidation of the benzylic alcohol 15 thus obtained to ketone 17 was best achieved with catalytic amounts of tetra-n-propylammonium perruthenate (TPAP) and N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMO) in dilute CH2Cl2 solution to avoid the formation of undue amounts of the unsymmetrical dimer 16. Ketone 17 was elaborated into the natural product by selective cleavage of the isopropyl ether with BCl3, introduction of the sulfate moiety with the aid of trichloroethyl chlorosulfuric acid ester, deprotection of all lateral methyl ether groups, and final reductive cleavage of the trichloroethyl ester moiety. The spectroscopic data of synthetic dictyodendrin B thus formed matched those of an authentic sample in all regards. Moreover, it was shown that global deprotection of the peripheral -OH groups in pyrrolo[2,3-c]carbazole 13 is accompanied by spontaneous air-oxidation to form the quinone core of dictyodendrin C.  相似文献

Molybdenum and chromium pentacarbonyldiphenylphosphinocarbodithioate complexes have been prepared in a one‐pot reaction from the corresponding metallocarbonyldiphenylphosphine. The complexes have been characterised by IR, 1H, 31P and 13C NMR spectroscopies and by mass spectrometry. The solid‐state structures of [Cr(CO)5{PPh2CS2CH(Ph)CH3}] ( 1 ) and [Mo(CO)5{PPh2CS2CH(Ph)CH3}] ( 2 ) are reported. Compounds 1 and 2 are isostructural and crystallise in the triclinic P$\bar 1Molybdenum and chromium pentacarbonyldiphenylphosphinocarbodithioate complexes have been prepared in a one-pot reaction from the corresponding metallocarbonyldiphenylphosphine. These new organometallic compounds are highly efficient reversible chain-transfer agents for reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerisation of styrene (St) and n-butyl acrylate (nBA), with controlled number-average molar mass values and narrow dispersities (<1.2). The controlled character of the polymerisation was further exemplified by the synthesis of St and nBA diblock copolymers.  相似文献
