Studies of monodomain manganese oxide by neutron diffraction and strain gauge measurements show that the antiferro-paramagnetic transition is clearly discontinuous. At the transition the order-parameter drops by about 60 percent of the T = 0 K value.  相似文献

We present an erbium-doped dispersion-compensating fiber made up of two asymmetric concentric cores, inner and outer matched claddings, and erbium located in the central core only. We demonstrate a high negative chromatic dispersion value [-700 ps/(nm km) at 1568 nm], significant modification of the gain spectrum compared with that of a classic erbium-doped fiber amplifier, and 30-dB peak small-signal gain at 1535 and 1553 nm.  相似文献

We study multiclass queueing networks with the earliest-due-date, first-served (EDDFS) discipline. For these networks, the service priority of a customer is determined, upon its arrival in the network, by an assigned random due date. First-in-system, first-out queueing networks, where a customer's priority is given by its arrival time in the network, are a special case. Using fluid models, we show that EDDFS queueing networks, without preemption, are stable whenever the traffic intensity satisfies j <1 for each station j.  相似文献

The tetrathiafulvalene‐amido‐2‐pyridine‐N‐oxide ( L ) ligand has been employed to coordinate 4f elements. The architecture of the complexes mainly depends on the ionic radii of the lanthanides. Thus, the reaction of L in the same experimental protocol leads to three different molecular structure series. Binuclear [Ln2(hfac)5(O2CPhCl)( L )3] ? 2 H2O (hfac?=1,1,1,5,5,5‐hexafluoroacetylacetonate anion, O2CPhCl?=3‐chlorobenzoate anion) and mononuclear [Ln(hfac)3( L )2] complexes were obtained by using rare‐earth ions with either large (LnIII=Pr, Gd) or small (LnIII=Y, Yb) ionic radius, respectively, whereas the use of TbIII that possesses an intermediate ionic radius led to the formation of a binuclear complex of formula [Tb2(hfac)4(O2CPhCl)2( L )2]. Antiferromagnetic interactions have been observed in the three dinuclear compounds by using an extended empirical method. Photophysical properties of the coordination complexes have been studied by solid‐state absorption spectroscopy, whereas time‐dependent density functional theory (TD‐DFT) calculations have been carried out on the diamagnetic YIII derivative to build a molecular orbital diagram and to reproduce the absorption spectrum. For the [Yb(hfac)3( L )2] complex, the excitation at 19 600 cm?1 of the HOMO→LUMO+1/LUMO+2 charge‐transfer transition induces both line‐shape emissions in the near‐IR spectral range assigned to the 2F5/22F7/2 (9860 cm?1) ytterbium‐centered transition and a residual charge‐transfer emission around 13 150 cm?1. An efficient antenna effect that proceeds through energy transfer from the singlet excited state of the tetrathiafulvalene‐amido‐2‐pyridine‐N‐oxide chromophore is evidence of the YbIII sensitization.  相似文献

The cascade rearrangement of chiral enediynes 1c-e, involving successively 1,3-proton shift, Saito-Myers cyclization, 1,5-hydrogen atom transfer, and intramolecular coupling of the resulting biradical, proceeded at 80 °C to form tri- and tetracyclic heterocycles possessing a quaternary stereogenic center with a very high level of memory of chirality.  相似文献

Random wall-pressure fluctuations due to the turbulent boundary layer (TBL) are a feature of the air flow over an aircraft fuselage under cruise conditions, creating undesirable effects such as cabin noise annoyance. In order to test potential solutions to reduce the TBL-induced noise, a cost-efficient alternative to in-flight or wind-tunnel measurements involves the laboratory simulation of the response of aircraft sidewalls to high-speed subsonic TBL excitation. Previously published work has shown that TBL simulation using a near-field array of loudspeakers is only feasible in the low frequency range due to the rapid decay of the spanwise correlation length with frequency. This paper demonstrates through theoretical criteria how the wavenumber filtering capabilities of the radiating panel reduces the number of sources required, thus dramatically enlarging the frequency range over which the response of the TBL-excited panel is accurately reproduced. Experimental synthesis of the panel response to high-speed TBL excitation is found to be feasible over the hydrodynamic coincidence frequency range using a reduced set of near-field loudspeakers driven by optimal signals. Effective methodologies are proposed for an accurate reproduction of the TBL-induced sound power radiated by the panel into a free-field and when coupled to a cavity.  相似文献

The scattering matrix results of Herschel–Quincke (HQ) resonators installed in combination with an acoustic liner (HQ-Liners) are presented in this paper. This approach aims at controlling both tonal and broadband noise to improve the liner efficiency. It uses circumferential arrays of Herschel–Quincke tubes on a main duct in a serial association with a locally reacting liner of known impedance. Results for the scattering matrix of this system are deduced from an analytical model and compared with experimental and numerical data showing a good agreement. Analysis of the scattering matrix coefficients points out the modal conversion properties that depend on the number of HQ tubes along the circumference. Results of the transmission loss show that the choice of an optimal HQ configuration with respect to the liner properties can substantially improve the liner efficiency.  相似文献

Heavy traffic limits for multiclass queueing networks are a topic of continuing interest. Presently, the class of networks for which these limits have been rigorously derived is restricted. An important ingredient in such work is the demonstration of state space collapse. Here, we demonstrate state space collapse for two families of networks, first-in first-out (FIFO) queueing networks of Kelly type and head-of-the-line proportional processor sharing (HLPPS) queueing networks. We then apply our techniques to more general networks. To demonstrate state space collapse for FIFO networks of Kelly type and HLPPS networks, we employ law of large number estimates to show a form of compactness for appropriately scaled solutions. The limits of these solutions are next shown to satisfy fluid model equations corresponding to the above queueing networks. Results from Bramson [4,5] on the asymptotic behavior of these limits then imply state space collapse. The desired heavy traffic limits for FIFO networks of Kelly type and HLPPS networks follow from this and the general criteria set forth in the companion paper Williams [41]. State space collapse and the ensuing heavy traffic limits also hold for more general queueing networks, provided the solutions of their fluid model equations converge.
