As exciting candidates for next-generation energy storage, all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs) are highly dependent on advanced solid-state electrolytes (SSEs). Here, using cost-effective LaCl3 and CeCl3 lattice (UCl3-type structure) as the host and further combined with a multiple-cation mixed strategy, we report a series of UCl3-type SSEs with high room-temperature ionic conductivities over 10−3 S cm−1 and good compatibility with high-voltage oxide cathodes. The intrinsic large-size hexagonal one-dimensional channels and highly disordered amorphous phase induced by multi-metal cation species are believed to trigger fast multiple ionic conductions of Li+, Na+, K+, Cu+, and Ag+. The UCl3-type SSEs enable a stable prototype ASSLB capable of over 3000 cycles and high reversibility at −30 °C. Further exploration of the brand-new multiple-cation mixed chlorides is likely to lead to the development of advanced halide SSEs suitable for ASSLBs with high energy density.  相似文献

The presence of alkyl ether fuel oxygenates in drinking water supplies has raised public health concerns because of possible adverse health effects from chronic exposure to these compounds. To enable large exposure studies exploring possible relationships between chronic exposure to alkyl ether fuel oxygenates and health effects, we developed an improved analytical method, using headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled with capillary gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. This method quantifies trace levels of methyl tertiary-butyl ether, ethyl tertiary-butyl ether, di-isopropyl ether, and tertiary-amyl methyl ether in tap water. The method achieves detection limits of less than 0.025 microg/L for all analytes and linear ranges of three orders of magnitude in the measurement of the alkyl ether fuel oxygenates in 5-mL tap water samples. The relative percentage of recoveries of the alkyl ether fuel oxygenates ranged from 97% to 105%. The relative standard deviation ranged from 2% to 6%. Methyl tertiary-butyl ether was detected in samples of tap water taken from geographically diverse regions of the United States. The improved throughput and sensitivity of this method will enable large epidemiologic field studies of the prevalence and magnitude of exposure to alkyl ether fuel oxygenates in the general population.  相似文献

Molecular simulations are used to shed light on an ongoing controversy over where gases adsorb on single walled carbon nanotube bundles. We have performed simulations using models of carbon nanotube bundles composed of tubes of all the same diameter (homogeneous) and tubes of different diameters (heterogeneous). Simulation data are compared with experimental data in an effort to identify the best model for describing experimental data. Adsorption isotherms, isosteric heats of adsorption, and specific surface areas have been computed for Ar, CH 4, and Xe on closed, open, and partially opened homogeneous and heterogeneous nanotube bundles. Experimental data from nanotubes prepared from two different methods, electric arc and HiPco, were examined. Experimental adsorption isotherms and isosteric heats for nanotubes prepared by the electric arc method are in best agreement with simulations for heterogeneous bundles of closed nanotubes. Models including adsorption in defect interstitial channels are required to achieve good agreement with experiments. Experimental isosteric heats and specific surface areas on HiPco nanotubes are best described by a model consisting of heterogeneous bundles with approximately 11% of the nanotubes opened.  相似文献

Despite its excellent resolving power, 2-DE is of limited use when analyzing cellular proteomes, especially in differential expression studies. Frequently, fewer than 2000 protein spots are detected on a single 2-D gel (a fraction of the total proteome) regardless of the gel platform, sample, or detection method used. This is due to the vast number of proteins expressed and their equally vast dynamic range. To exploit 2-DE unique ability as both an analytical and a preparative tool, the significant sample prefractionation is necessary. We have used solution isoelectric focusing (sIEF) via the ZOOM IEF Fractionator (Invitrogen) to generate sample fractions from complex bacterial lysates, followed by parallel 2-DE, using narrow-range IPG strips that bracket the sIEF fractions. The net result of this process is a significant enrichment of the bacterial proteome resolved on multiple 2-D gels. After prefractionation, we detected 5525 spots, an approximate 3.5-fold increase over the 1577 spots detected in an unfractionated gel. We concluded that sIEF is an effective means of prefractionation to increase depth of field and improve the analysis of low-abundance proteins.  相似文献

Ultrafast photolysis (lambdaex = 270, 350, or 360 nm) of bromophenyl, chlorophenyl, fluorophenyl, and fluoro-para-trifluoromethylphenyl diazirines produces transient species which absorb broadly in the UV and visible regions. Transient decay can be fit to either mono- or biexponential functions (tau1 approximately 0.3-10 ps, tau2 approximately 10-350 ps; dependent on solvent and halogen). Fluoro- and chlorophenylcarbene are formed within the time resolution of the spectrometer (300 fs, 270 nm excitation). Bromophenyl diazirine decay (270 nm excitation) correlates with the growth of bromophenylcarbene. Solvent and substituent effects on the slower decays of the transient absorptions are consistent with assigning the carriers of transient absorption in the visible region to ring-opened zwitterionic species.  相似文献

The adsorption and activation of CO over flat Co{0001}, corrugated Co{1120}, and stepped Co{1012} and Co{1124} surfaces have been analyzed using periodic density functional theory calculations. CO strongly chemisorbs on all these surfaces but does not show a strong dependence on the surface structure. The calculated structure of adsorbed CO on Co{0001} at 1/3 monolayer (ML) of coverage was found to be in good agreement with the experiment. The barrier for CO dissociation over Co{0001} was found to decrease with decreasing CO coverage, taking on a value of 232 kJ/mol at 1/4 ML and 218 kJ/mol at 1/9 ML. The presence of the "zigzag" channel on Co{1120} enhances the reactivity slightly by reducing the barrier for CO dissociation to 195 kJ/mol. In contrast, the stepped Co{1012} and Co{1124} surfaces are much more active than the flat and corrugated surfaces. Both stepped surfaces provide direct channels for CO dissociation that do not have barriers with respect to gas-phase CO. In general the activation barriers lower as the reaction energies become more exothermic. Reconstruction of the step edges that occur in the product state, however, prevents a linear correlation between the reaction energy and the activation energy.  相似文献

A series of nitrosyl tris(5,10,15-aryl)corrolate complexes of iron(III) Fe(Ar3C)(NO) with different substituents on the aryl groups have been prepared, and certain spectroscopic and reaction properties were compared. The cyclic voltammetric analysis of the various Fe(Ar3C)(NO) complexes demonstrated that both the one-electron oxidation and one-electron reduction potentials respond in systematic and nearly identical trends relative to the electron-donor properties of the substituents. A similar pattern was seen in the nitrosyl stretching frequency, nu(NO), which modestly decreased with the stronger donor substituents. Flash photolysis of Fe(Ar3C)(NO) solutions in toluene leads to NO dissociation followed by rapid [NO]-dependent decay of the transients formed (presumably Fe(Ar3C)) to regenerate the original spectra. As was seen in an earlier flash photolysis study of Fe(TNPC)(NO) (TNPC3- = 5,10,15-tris(4-nitro-phenyl)corrolate; Joseph, C.; Ford, P. C. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2005, 127, 6737-6743), the second-order rate constants, k(NO), are all much faster ((1-9) x 10(8) M(-1) s(-1) at 298 K) than those for analogous iron(III) complexes of porphyrins. However, on a more microscopic level there is no obvious pattern in these rates with respect to the donor properties of the aryl ring substituents. The high reactivity of the ferric triarylcorrolates with NO data is interpreted in terms of the strongly electron-donating character of the Ar3C3- ligand and the quartet electronic configuration of the Fe(Ar3C) intermediate.  相似文献

Magnesium oxide thin films have been deposited with use of single source chemical vapor deposition (SSCVD). The resultant films were examined by using transmission electron microscopy, X-ray texture analysis, and pole figure analysis. Due to the nature of the chemical reactions occurring at the surface during SSCVD growth, which result in a high growth rate/low flux environment, films of (111) orientation have been achieved without an amorphous underlayer, an unusual result for films of this orientation. Moreover the films have a strong degree of biaxial texturing in the x-y plane as found with X-ray texture analysis. These findings have important implications for buffer layers in perovskite thin film devices. The mechanism producing these structures has been revealed by using TEM and is discussed here.  相似文献

We have investigated Ag(I) mediated folding of a tridentate compound, containing three pyridine flaps tethered to a semirigid scaffold, into a molecular basket, using both experimental and theoretical methods. The basket formation has been shown to be highly favorable in organic media (Delta G degrees = -7.2 kcal/mol), with the assembly process allowing for another ligand to bind preferentially on the outer side.  相似文献

Thin nanoporous gold (np-Au) films, ranging in thickness from approximately 40 to 1600 nm, have been prepared by selective chemical etching of Ag from Ag/Au alloy films supported on planar substrates. A combination of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging, synchrotron grazing incidence small angle X-ray scattering, and N2 adsorption surface area measurements shows the films to exhibit a porous structure with intertwined gold fibrils exhibiting a spectrum of feature sizes and spacings ranging from several to hundreds of nanometers. Spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements (300-800 nm) reveal the onset of surface plasmon types of features with increase of film thicknesses into the approximately 200 nm film thickness range. Raman scattering measurements for films functionalized with a self-assembled monolayer formed from 4-fluorobenzenethiol show significant enhancements which vary sharply with film thickness and etching times. The maximum enhancement factors reach approximately 10(4) for 632.8 nm excitation, peak sharply in the approximately 200 nm thickness range for films prepared at optimum etching times, and show high spot to spot reproducibility with approximately 1 microm laser spot sizes, an indication that these films could be useful as durable, highly reproducible surface-enhanced Raman substrates.  相似文献
