Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) has been evaluated as an extraction technique for the isotope-dilution quantification of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in a sediment sample. A high-resolution mass-spectrometric system equipped with a gas chromatograph was employed for the determination of seven target PCB congeners. The effect of the operation parameters on the SFE efficiency was investigated, in which the analytical values of five target PCB congeners significantly increased with increases in the extraction temperature and pressure, and that of 4,4'-dichlorobiphenyl further increased by applying static extraction. The following conditions were found to be optimal: extraction temperature, 140 degrees C; pressure, 30 MPa; time and mode, static for 15 min then dynamic for 30 min. Under these conditions, the addition of modifiers influenced the extraction of polar compounds, but did not affect the analytical values of the PCB congeners. The optimized method was suitable for high-throughput analysis as well as for providing accurate analytical results, which were comparable to or better than the analytical results obtained by Soxhlet extraction. 相似文献

Iodometry is one of the easiest, most rapid and accurate methods for the determination of a relatively small amount of oxidizing agent, such as residual chlorine. Starch has long been used as a useful color indicator in iodometry. However, we found that PVA (polyvinyl alcohol with partially saponificated; e.g., saponification degree of 88%) is a more useful color indicator than starch. For example, at 20 degrees C, the PVA indicator gave similar profiles of iodine concentration vs. titration efficiencies (percent recoveries) to those of starch at 0 degrees C. At 0 degrees C, the PVA indicator detected 1.1 mg I2/L (11 microg I2: with 10 mL sample volume) with a high percentage of recovery (=95%). Furthermore, at 20 degrees C an iodine concentration of 0.36 mg/L (which corresponds to a residual chlorine concentration of 0.1 mg Cl2/L) could be detected using PVA color indicator assuming an appropriate correction. 相似文献

We present a method for pricing structured CAT bonds based on utility indifference pricing. The CAT bond considered here is issued in two distinct notes called tranches, specifically senior and junior tranches each with its own payment schedule. Our contributions to the literature of CAT bond pricing are two-fold. First, we apply indifference pricing to structured CAT bonds. We find a price for the senior tranche as a relative indifference price, that is, relative to the price of the junior tranche. Alternatively, one could take the approach that the senior tranche is priced first and the price of the junior tranche is relative to that. Second, instead of simply supposing that the “not-issue-a-CAT-bond” strategy of the reinsurer is to do nothing, we suppose that the reinsurer reduces its risk by reinsuring proportionally less claims. We have found in the nanoprobe-photoluminescnece (PL) measurement that the PL from InGaAs quantum dots was enhanced remarkably by small elastic indentation of the nanoprobe onto the sample surface. In order to clarify the mechanism of the PL enhancement, the nanoprobe-induced strain distribution and the energy-band profiles in the bulk GaAs have been calculated on the bases of linear continuum elastic theory and six-band strain Hamiltonian. It was found that the nm-scale strain modulation by the nanoprobe indentation results in the confinement potential for light holes 50–70 nm beneath the nanoprobe, revealing that the hole accumulation into the minimum causes the PL enhancement. 相似文献

A method for the simultaneous quantitative determination of deoxynivalenol (DON), T‐2 toxin (T‐2), HT‐2 toxin (HT‐2) and zearalenone (ZEN) in wheat and biscuit by liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI‐MS/MS) coupled with immunoaffinity extraction is described. A clean‐up was carried out using a DZT MS‐PREP® immunoaffinity column (IAC), and the effect of the sample dilution rate and sample loading was investigated. Furthermore, the effects of ion suppression of a multifunctional column (MFC) and the IAC in the clean‐up were compared. The results with the DZT MS‐PREP® IAC showed that it is possible to make the sample dilution rate low, and indicated a higher solvent‐tolerance than usual with an IAC. Sample loading was optimized at 0.25 g. Ion suppression was lowered by purification of the toxins using the DZT MS‐PREP® IAC. Recoveries of each mycotoxin from wheat and biscuit samples spiked at two levels ranged from 78 to 109%. The limits of detection in wheat and biscuit was in the range of 0.03–0.33 ng·g?1. From these studies, it is suggested that use of an IAC is effective in the clean‐up of each mycotoxin, and, when combined with LC/ESI‐MS/MS, it is good for the determination of mycotoxins in foodstuffs due to its rapidity and high sensitivity. We synthesized 16 pyrrolidine-based oxy-peptide nucleic acid (POPNA) monomers carrying four different nucleobases onto four different stereoisomers of pyrrolidine rings. Using these monomers, we prepared POPNA oligomers, which formed sequence-specific hybrids with DNAs. The oligomer configurations influenced the hybrid stability. The oligomers were not taken into CHO cells. However, they could enter the cell cytoplasm when mixed with the influenza virus hemagglutinin peptide-arginine heptamer conjugate. 相似文献
