A bio-ink for covalent deposition of thermostable, high affinity biotin-binding chimeric avidin onto sol-gel substrates was developed. The bio-ink was prepared from heterobifunctional crosslinker 6-maleimidohexanoic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide which was first reacted either with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane or 3-aminopropyldimethylethoxysilane to form silane linkers 6-maleimide-N-(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)hexanamide or -(ethoxydimethylsilyl)propyl)-hexanamide. C-terminal cysteine genetically engineered to chimeric avidin was reacted with the maleimide group of silane linker in methanol/PBS solution to form a suspension, which was printed on sol-gel modified PMMA film. Different concentrations of chimeric avidin and ratios between silane linkers were tested to find the best properties for the bio-ink to enable gravure or inkjet printing. Bio-ink prepared from 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane was found to provide the highest amount of active immobilized chimeric avidin. The developed bio-ink was shown to be valuable for automated fabrication of avidin-functionalized polymer films.  相似文献

We report on a new noble-gas molecule HXeOBr prepared in a low-temperature xenon matrix from the HBr and N(2)O precursors by UV photolysis and thermal annealing. This molecule is assigned with the help of deuteration experiments and ab initio calculations including anharmonic methods. The H-Xe stretching frequency of HXeOBr is observed at 1634 cm(-1), which is larger by 56 cm(-1) than the frequency of HXeOH identified previously. The experiments show a higher thermal stability of HXeOBr molecules in a xenon matrix compared to HXeOH.  相似文献

In this research, the two most common filter media, quartz and Teflon, were tested to obtain information about the possible adsorption of gas-phase compounds onto filters during long sample collection of atmospheric aerosols. Particles of nanometer-size for off-line chemical characterization were collected using a recently introduced differential mobility analyzer for size separation. Samples were collected at an urban site (Helsinki, SMEARIII station) during spring 2010. Sampling time was 4 to 10 days for particles 50, 40, or 30 nm in diameter. Sample air flow was 4 L/min. The sampling setup was arranged so that two samples were obtained for each sampling period almost simultaneously: one containing particles and adsorbed gas-phase compounds and one containing adsorbed gas-phase compounds only. Filters were extracted and analyzed for the presence of selected carboxylic acids, polyols, nitrogen-containing compounds, and aldehydes. The results showed that, in quartz filter samples, gas-phase adsorption may be responsible for as much as 100% of some compound masses. Whether quartz or Teflon, simultaneous collection of gas-phase zero samples is essential during the whole sampling period. The dependence of the adsorption of gas-phase compounds on vapor pressure and the effect of adsorption on the deposited aerosol layer are discussed.  相似文献

This article demonstrates how important it is to find the optimal heating conditions when electrospun organic/inorganic composite fibers are annealed to get ceramic nanofibers in appropriate quality (crystal structure, composition, and morphology) and to avoid their disintegration. Polyvinylpyrrolidone [PVP, (C6H9NO) n ] and ammonium metatungstate [AMT, (NH4)6[H2W12O40nH2O] nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning aqueous solutions of PVP and AMT. The as-spun fibers and their annealing were characterized by TG/DTA-MS, XRD, SEM, Raman, and FTIR measurements. The 400–600 nm thick and tens of micrometer long PVP/AMT fibers decomposed thermally in air in four steps, and pure monoclinic WO3 nanofibers formed between 500 and 600 °C. When a too high heating rate and heating temperature (10 °C min−1, 600 °C) were used, the WO3 nanofibers completely disintegrated. At lower heating rate but too high temperature (1 °C min−1, 600 °C), the fibers broke into rods. If the heating rate was adequate, but the annealing temperature was too low (1 °C min−1, 500 °C), the nanofiber morphology was excellent, but the sample was less crystalline. When the optimal heating rate and temperature (1 °C min−1, 550 °C) were applied, WO3 nanofibers with excellent morphology (250 nm thick and tens of micrometer long nanofibers, which consisted of 20–80 nm particles) and crystallinity (monoclinic WO3) were obtained. The FTIR and Raman measurements confirmed that with these heating parameters the organic matter was effectively removed from the nanofibers and monoclinic WO3 was present in a highly crystalline and ordered form.  相似文献

This article deals with empty spacetime and the question of its physical reality. By “empty spacetime” we mean a collection of bare spacetime points, the remains of ridding spacetime of all matter and fields. We ask whether these geometric objects—themselves intrinsic to the concept of field—might be observable through some physical test. By taking quantum-mechanical notions into account, we challenge the negative conclusion drawn from the diffeomorphism invariance postulate of general relativity, and we propose new foundational ideas regarding the possible observation—as well as conceptual overthrow—of this geometric ether.  相似文献

Talc is determined by infrared spectrometry in talc ore and mineral mixtures containing clinochlore chlorite, dolomite and magnesite as major minerals. When the Si-O-Si vibration at 668 cm?1 is used, the calibration graph is linear up to about 0.5 mg of talc. Band overlap from chlorite is corrected by using the ratio of absorbances at 668 and 3620 cm?1. Talc (?15%) in talc/carbonate/chlorite mixtures and ore was determined with relatively good precision and accuracy (recovery 91.2–97.4%). The sample sizes were 0.5–1 mg for 40–60% talc and 0.5–1.5 mg for 7.5–15% talc. The recoveries were worse (84.0–94.6%) for < 15% talc. The precision for unknown samples of talc ore varied from 1.5 to 4.0% (n=4).  相似文献

The purpose of this investigation was to analyze the normal anatomy and leiomyomas of the uterus with an ultra low field (0.02 T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device. MR imaging was performed on 18 uteri, 11 of which were imaged both preoperatively (in vivo) and as an operative specimen (in vitro), 6 only as an operative specimen, and 1 only preoperatively. All uteri were examined histologically after imaging. The junctional zone was much better delineated in vivo than in vitro, indicating that its appearance on MR is partly due to blood flow. No structures contributing to its visibility in vitro could be demonstrated histologically. Twenty leiomyomas (size range 7–79 mm) in 12 uteri were found with MRI. They were slightly better discerned in vivo than in vitro. The leiomyomas, having no degenerative changes, had a signal intensity which was the same or lower than that of the myometrium. On images obtained in vitro the signal intensity of these leiomyomas relative to that of myometrium correlated directly with their muscular content (R = 0.74, p = .002). The authors conclude that the junctional zone is a sum of physiological and structural factors, the latter being responsible for its in vitro delineation. MR imaging of the uterus in vitro did not give more information than MR imaging in vivo. All leiomyomas larger than 10 mm could be detected, indicating that MR imaging at 0.02 T is an accurate method for the imaging of the uterine leiomyomas.  相似文献

We apply what we call sequential projection to reformulate certain linear programs as recursive optimization problems. We then apply the standard idea of approximating the return function at each stage of the recursion by using inner (or outer) linearization, and iteratively refining the approximation until the original linear program has been solved. The contribution of the paper lies in its unification of existing decomposition approaches and in showing that they can be generalized to apply to what we call arborescent linear programs.  相似文献

A molecular approach to heterogeneous nucleation has been developed. The expressions for the equilibrium cluster distribution, the reversible work of the cluster formation, and the nucleation rate have been derived. Two separate statements for the work of formation were formulated. If the equilibrium cluster distribution is normalized on the monomer concentration near the substrate surface, the reversible work of formation is expressed by DeltaG(het) (I) = (F(n) (het)-F(n) (hom))-(F(1) (het)-F(1) (hom)) + DeltaG(hom) where F(n) (het) and F(n) (hom) are the Helmholtz free energies of a cluster interacting with a substrate and a cluster not interacting with the substrate, respectively. If the equilibrium cluster distribution is normalized on the monomer concentration far from the substrate surface, the work of cluster formation is given by DeltaG(het) (II) = (F(n) (het)-F(n) (hom)) + DeltaG(hom). The former expression corresponds to the approach of the classical heterogeneous nucleation theory. The cluster partition function appears to be dependent on the location of a virtual plane, which separates the volume, where the interaction of the clusters with the substrate is effective from the one where interaction is negligible. Our Monte Carlo simulations have shown that the dependence is rather weak and thus the location of the plane is not very important. According to the simulations the variation of the plane position in the range from 20 to 50 Angstroms does not lead to a considerable change of the heterogeneous nucleation rate.  相似文献
