This paper presents the results of atmospheric air quality research in Tczew (adjacent to the Vistula River) on the content of BTEX compounds. procedure applied during the sampling of the analytes from the air used the passive sampling technique (diffusive passive sampler, Radiello®). For determination of BTEX compounds in atmospheric air, two-stage thermal desorption technique combined with gas chromatography (TD-GC-FID) was applied.Research was conducted from March to December 2011. The annual average concentration of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes determined in atmospheric air for the monitoring period were: 0.87 μg m–3, 2.9 μg m–3, 1.3 μg m–3 and 5.9 μg m–3, respectively. In order to pre-identify potential sources of emissions of BTEX compounds, statistical analysis was carried out. This determined interactions between specified concentration levels of BTEX compounds in atmospheric air for the monitored area. 相似文献

Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are proliferated into the environment on a global scale and present in the organisms of animals and humans even in remote locations. Persistent organic pollutants of that kind therefore have stimulated substantial improvement in analytical methods. The aim of this review is to present recent achievements in PFASs determination in various matrices with different methods and its comparison to measurements of Total Organic Fluorine (TOF). Analytical methods used for PFASs determinations are dominated by chromatography, mostly in combination with mass spectrometric detection. However, HPLC may be also hyphenated with conductivity or fluorimetric detection, and gas chromatography may be combined with flame ionization or electron capture detection. The presence of a large number of PFASs species in environmental and biological samples necessitates parallel attempts to develop a total PFASs index that reflects the total content of PFASs in various matrices. In this article, we report on the formation of well-defined highly emissive silica-covered porphyrin microstructures in base-catalyzed
sol–gel processes. The microstructures were obtained by self-assembly of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrin (mTHPP)
at room temperature. Tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) was used as a silica precursor. The hybrid mTHPP- silica particles were characterized
by means of reflectance UV–Vis and microscopy techniques including atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
and confocal fluorescence microscopy (CM). The SEM and TEM observations revealed that depending on the porphyrin concentration
used in the synthesis, the shape of the hybrid mTHPP-silica particles has changed from ribbon-like (c
mTHPP = 2.09 mM) to rhombus-like structures (c
mTHPP = 4.35 mM). The ribbons were straight-edged, uniform in width (1.2–1.8 μm) and height (350–400 nm), and variable in length
(40–100 μm). The rhombs were 1–3.7 μm in height, 7–25 μm in length, and 3.5–15 μm in width, and the ratio of length to width
was uniform and equal to ca. 1.8–2. UV–Vis absorption spectra indicated that the J-aggregates and H-aggregates formed in the
systems with lower and higher porphyrin content, respectively. Formation of different type of porphyrin aggregates in both

Caddisfly (Trichopera) can glue diverse material underwater with a silk fiber. This makes it a particularly interesting subject
for biomimetcs. Better understanding of silk composition and structure could lead to an adhesive capable to close bleeding
wounds or to new biomaterials. However, while spiderweb or silkworm secretion is well researched, caddisfly silk is still
poorly understood. Here we report a first nanomechanical analysis of H. Angustipennis caddisfly silk fiber. An Atomic Force
Microscope (AFM) imaging shows dense 150 nm bumps on silk surface, which can be identified as one of features responsible
for its outstanding adhesive properties. AFM force spectroscopy at the fiber surface showed, among others, characteristic
saw like pattern. This pattern is attributed to sacrificial bond stretching and enhances energy dissipation in mechanical
deformation. Similarities of some force curves observed on Tegenaria domestica spiderweb and caddisfly silk are also discussed.
Steered Molecular Dynamics simulations revealed that the strength of short components of Fib-H HA species molecules, abundant

We consider a process of the Andreev reflection between a normal metal and the s-wave superconductor in the FFLO state. It is shown that the process takes place if the energy of the incoming electron is bound within the finite interval called the Andreev window. The treatment of an aqueous acetonitrile solution of chloroplatinic acid hydrate H2PtCl6.xH2O and pyridine-2-carbaldehyde-oxime (paOH) in the presence of potassium thiocyanate at room temperature (25°) led to the formation of a new Pt(IV) complex with the formula [Pt(SCN)2(paO)2], (1). Complex 1 was fully characterized by FT-IR, UV-vis and NMR spectroscopic techniques as well as elemental analysis. The crystallographic structure of complex 1 was obtained by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of complex 1 consists of a distorted octahedral geometrical environment around the platinum center in which the coordination sites are occupied by two terminal thiocyanate ligands in trans arrangement and two bidentate paO ligands through four nitrogen atoms. In addition, the in vitro evaluation of the cytotoxicity of platinum complex 1 against four different cancer cell lines was performed. The IC50 values for colon (HCT116), liver (HepG2), breast (MCF-7) and erythroid (JK-1) treated with complex 1 are 19 ± 6, 21 ± 5, 22 ± 6, and 13 ± 3 μM, respectively. In HCT116 cells treated with the IC50 dose of our title compound, apoptosis and necrosis were increased by 34% and 27.8%, respectively. Cells halted in the proliferative phase (S phase) to 21.7 % and 29.8% in HCT116 and HepG2 cells treated with complex 1 have anti-proliferative actions. Furthermore, the catalytic activity of synthesized complex 1 was examined in the oxidation reaction of benzyl alcohols in the presence of an oxidant. In this short communication we characterize the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printing using four polymer materials, namely polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified (PETG), acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), Nylon, and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). Detailed emission profiles are obtained during thermal degradation of the polymers as a function of temperature and also in real-time during 3D printing. Direct quantitative measurement was performed using proton transfer reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometry (PTR-ToF-MS). Qualitative determination of the volatiles emitted from the printed elements at various temperatures was accomplished using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The emission rates of VOCs differ significantly between the different polymer filaments, with the emission from Nylon and PETG more than an order of magnitude lower than that of ABS. 相似文献

Chrozophora tinctoria is an annual plant of the family Euphorbiaceae, traditionally used as a laxative, a cathartic and an emetic. A methanolic extract of Chrozophora tinctoria (MEC) whole plant and an n-butanol fraction of Chrozophora tinctoria (NBFC) were analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to detect the phytochemicals. MEC and NBFC were tested for in vitro anti acetylcholinesterase (AChE) potential. The effect of both samples on intestinal propulsive movement and spasmolytic activity in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) was also studied. About twelve compounds in MEC and three compounds in NBFC were tentatively identified through GC-MS. Some of them are compounds with known therapeutic activity, such as toluene; imipramine; undecane; 14-methyl-pentadecanoic acid methyl ester; and hexadecanoic acid. Both NBFC and MEC samples were checked for acute toxicity and were found to be highly toxic in a dose-dependent manner, causing diarrhea and emesis at 1 g/kg concentration in pigeons, with the highest lethargy and mortality above 3 g/kg. Both the samples of Chrozophora tinctoria revealed significant (p ≤ 0.01) laxative activity against metronidazole (7 mg/kg) and loperamide hydrochloride (4 mg/kg)-induced constipation. NBFC (81.18 ± 2.5%) and MEC (68.28 ± 2.4%) significantly increased charcoal meal intestinal transit compared to distal water (41.15 ± 4.3%). NBFC exhibited a significant relaxant effect (EC50 = 3.40 ± 0.20 mg/mL) in spontaneous rabbit jejunum as compared to MEC (EC50 = 4.34 ± 0.68 mg/kg). Similarly, the impact of NBFC on KCl-induced contraction was more significant than that of MEC (EC50 values of 7.22 ± 0.06 mg/mL and 7.47 ± 0.57 mg/mL, respectively). The present study scientifically validates the folk use of Chrozophora tinctoria in the management of gastrointestinal diseases such as constipation. Further work is needed to isolate the phytochemicals that act as diarrheal agents in Chrozophora tinctoria. 相似文献

Interest in Cd complexes has been growing in recent years. Cd complexes are considered a potential solution in the search for novel antibiotics that can fight antimicrobial resistance. In addition, Cd complexes draw attention to material chemistry. The main objective of this work was to prepare the first Cd(II) complexes with anionic forms of pyridine-based thiazolyl hydrazone (THs) ligands HLS2 [(E)-4-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-(2-[pyridine-2-ylmethylene]hydrazinyl)thiazole] and HLS3 [(E)-2-(2-[pyridine-2-ylmethylene]hydrazinyl)-4-(p-tolyl)thiazole] and perform their structural and spectroscopic characterization, as well as stability in solution and upon heating. Studies related to their biological activities and possible electrochromic applications are also being conducted. Complexes [Cd(HLS2)2] ( 1 ) and [Cd(HLS3)2] ( 2 ) have been characterized by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction and computational analysis of intermolecular interactions responsible for their solid-state structures was performed. Thermal stability of 1 and 2 in the solid-state was analyzed by TGA/MS, where as their solution stability was determined by the spectrophotometric titration method. Electrochemical and in situ UV–Vis spectroelectrochemical analyses of 1 and 2 were carried out to determine redox mechanisms and the influence of the substituents and electrolytes on their redox responses. The antioxidant capacity of both complexes was tested in antioxidant assays, while their antimicrobial activity was tested against five Gram-positive and four Gram-negative bacteria, as well as against three fungi. The obtained results indicate their potent antioxidant capacity. The antimicrobial activity of investigated compounds on almost all tested bacterial strains was stronger than that of the standard antibiotic erythromycin. The results of docking studies indicate that the minor groove DNA is the possible biological target of 1 and 2 . 相似文献
