The long-time behavior of the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of the tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) pre-solution at different pH values with and without addition of polyethyleneglycol (PEG) for various aging times was characterized by liquid (1)H, (13)C, and (29)Si NMR spectroscopy. After aging, the alcohol is released in the TEOS pre-solution without addition of PEG at pH 3 and 9. On the other hand, the hydrolysis and condensation rates of the TEOS pre-solutions with addition of PEG at pH 3 and 9 increase except for the TEOS pre-solution with addition of PEG 2000 at pH 9. However, the hydrolysis and condensation rates of the TEOS pre-solutions with and without addition of PEG at pH 5 and 7 are almost the same before and after aging. The effects of the pH values, polymer size and aging times on the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of the TEOS pre-solutions are discussed. 相似文献

We discuss a multi-scale continuum representation of bodies made of several mass particles flowing independently each other. From an invariance procedure and a nonstandard balance of inertial actions, we derive the balance equations introduced in earlier work directly in pointwise form, essentially on the basis of physical plausibility. In this way, we analyze their foundations. Then, we propose a Boltzmann-type equation for the distribution of kinetic energies within control volumes in space and indicate how such a distribution allows us to propose a definition of (granular) temperature along processes far from equilibrium. 相似文献

We evaluate the β-decay rates within the gross theory of beta decay (GTBD) and compare the results for different values of the axial-vector coupling constant, gA =?0.76, gA =?0.88, gA =?1, gA =?1.13, and gA =?1.26, and also different energy distribution functions like Gaussian, exponential, Lorentzian, and modified Lorentzian ones. We use new sets of parameters as well as updated experimental mass defects and also an improved approximation for the Fermi function. We compare our calculated results for a set of 94 nuclei of interest in pre-supernova phase, with experimental data in terrestrial conditions and also with other theoretical models like the QRPA, the shell model (SM), and different versions of the GTBD. We show that best results are obtained with gA =?1 using Gaussian and Lorentzian distributions, being the rates for the 74 and 80% of our sample, respectively, of the same order of magnitude that of experimental data. Finally, we show that the present results within the GTBD are better than those within the QRPA model and also older versions of the GTBD for the isotopes of cobalt and iron families, and comparable with SM for some elements. 相似文献

Understanding early amyloidogenesis is key to rationally develop therapeutic strategies. Tau protein forms well-characterized pathological deposits but its aggregation mechanism is still poorly understood. Using single-molecule force spectroscopy based on a mechanical protection strategy, we studied the conformational landscape of the monomeric tau repeat domain (tau-RD244-368). We found two sets of conformational states, whose frequency is influenced by mutations and the chemical context. While pathological mutations Δ280K and P301L and a pro-amyloidogenic milieu favored expanded conformations and destabilized local structures, an anti-amyloidogenic environment promoted a compact ensemble, including a conformer whose topology might mask two amyloidogenic segments. Our results reveal that to initiate aggregation, monomeric tau-RD244-368 decreases its polymorphism adopting expanded conformations. This could account for the distinct structures found in vitro and across tauopathies. 相似文献

Ferritin nanoparticles play many important roles in theranostic and bioengineering applications and have been successfully used as nanovectors for the targeted delivery of drugs due to their ability to specifically bind the transferrin receptor (TfR1, or CD71). They can be either genetically or chemically modified for encapsulating therapeutics or probes in their inner cavity. Here, we analyzed a new engineered ferritin nanoparticle, made of the H chain mouse ferritin (HFt) fused with a specific lanthanide binding tag (LBT). The HFt-LBT has one high affinity lanthanide binding site per each of the 24 subunits and a tryptophane residue within the tag that acts as an antenna able to transfer the energy to the lanthanide ions via a LRET process. In this study, among lanthanides, we selected europium for its red emission that allows to reduce overlap with tissue auto-fluorescence. Steady state emission measurements and time-resolved emission spectroscopy have been employed to investigate the interaction between the HFt-LBT and the Eu3+ ions. This allowed us to identify the Eu3+ energy states involved in the process and to pave the way for the future use of HFt-LBT Eu3+ complex in theranostics. 相似文献

Antimicrobial fibers based on biodegradable polymers, poly(lactic acid) (PLA), and poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) are prepared by electrospinning. For this purpose, a biodegradable/bio-based polyitaconate containing azoles groups (PTTI) is incorporated at 10 wt.% into the electrospinning formulations. The resulting fibers functionalized with azole moieties are uniform and free of beads. Then, the accessible azole groups are subjected to N-alkylation, treatment that provides cationic azolium groups with antibacterial activity at the surface of fibers. The positive charge density, roughness, and wettability of the cationic fibers are evaluated and compared with flat films. It is confirmed that these parameters exert an important effect on the antimicrobial properties, as well as the length of the alkylating agent and the hydrophobicity of the matrix. The quaternized PLA/PTTI fibers exhibit the highest efficiency against the tested bacteria, yielding a 4-Log reduction against S. aureus and 1.7-Log against MRSA. Then, biocompatibility and bioactivity of the fibers are evaluated in terms of adhesion, morphology and viability of fibroblasts. The results show no cytotoxic effect of the samples, however, a cytostatic effect is appreciated, which is ascribed to the strong electrostatic interactions between the positive charge at the fiber surface and the negative charge of the cell membranes. 相似文献

Blocks copolymers styrene-b-(ethylene-co-butylene)-b-styrene (SEBS) and styrene-b-(ethylene-co-propylene) (SEP, SEPSEP), with different styrene content and number of blocks in the chain, were functionalized with glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) by melt radical grafting. The influence of monomer concentration, radical initiator and copolymer structure on the grafting degree was examined. The grafted copolymers were characterised by DSC and capillary rheometry. Blends of PET with functionalized SEBS and SEPSEP showed a marked improvement of phase morphology and elongation at break when compared to blends with unfunctionalized copolymers. 相似文献

Field effect devices (FET) allow an exhaustive investigation of the electronic transport properties of innovative semiconductors of interest for new applications in modern electronics. In this contribution, we report on the fabrication and characterization of FET devices where SrTiO3 (STO) single crystals and organic macromolecular compounds, such as doped and undoped polythiophenes, or poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK), are used as insulating and semiconducting layers, respectively. STO, with εr of about 300, offers the possibility to strongly modulate the charge carrier density in the organic films, thus overcoming the limitations related to the use of more conventional oxides. 相似文献
