In particular we relate its harmonicity to an extended notion of Willmore surface which originated from the work of Bryant. A combination of Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS and transmission) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX) was employed to study the differences between coat and body in Campanian and Terra Sigillata wares. Proton-proton small angle correlations have been measured in neon-nucleus collisions, using the 4 pi detector Diogene, at 400 and 800 MeV per nucleon incident energies. Values of the size of the emitting region are obtained by comparison with the Koonin formula, taking into account the biases of the apparatus. The dependence of the density on target mass and incident energy is also analysed.  相似文献

The basic quantities characterizing the superconducting behaviour of pure 2H-NbSe2 single crystals have been determined from specific heat measurements, performed between 0.3 and 10 K in magnetic fields up to 55 KG. When Ti impurities are added, changes are observed both in the superconducting parameters and in the onset of charge density waves, strengthening the idea that a connection exists between the two phenomena.  相似文献

In the present paper, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, Ionic Thermocurrents and photoluminescence (emission and excitation) measurements have been performed in crystals of manganese- doped NaCl which were exposured to room temperature X-irradiation. The results obtained indicate that the diffusion of the Mn2+ - cation vacancy dipoles, originally present in the quenched samples, is considerably enhanced by ionizing radiation leading to the formation of a second phase precipitate which appears to be related with the Suzuki phase of the manganese ions in the host NaCl, as revealed from the EPR and optical data.  相似文献

Interest about simultaneous electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data acquisition has rapidly increased during the last years because of the possibility that the combined method offers to join temporal and spatial resolution, providing in this way a powerful tool to investigate spontaneous and evoked brain activities. However, several intrinsic features of MRI scanning become sources of artifacts on EEG data. Noise sources of a highly predictable nature such as those related to the pulse MRI sequence and those determined by magnetic gradient switching during scanning do not represent a major problem and can be easily removed. On the contrary, the ballistocardiogram (BCG) artifact, a large signal visible on all EEG traces and related to cardiac activity inside the magnetic field, is determined by sources that are not fully stereotyped and causing important limitations in the use of artifact-removing strategies. Recently, it has been proposed to use independent component analysis (ICA) to remove BCG artifact from EEG signals. ICA is a statistical algorithm that allows blind separation of statistically independent sources when the only available information is represented by their linear combination. An important drawback with most ICA algorithms is that they exhibit a stochastic behavior: each run yields slightly different results such that the reliability of the estimated sources is difficult to assess. In this preliminary report, we present a method based on running the FastICA algorithm many times with slightly different initial conditions. Clustering structure in the signal space of the obtained components provides us with a new way to assess the reliability of the estimated sources.  相似文献

Most recently, combining APXPS with “Tender” X-rays (~2.5 keV to 8 keV) on beamline 9.3.1 at the Advanced Light Source in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (which can generate photoelectrons with much longer inelastic mean free paths) has enabled us to probe the solid/liquid interface without needing a window [9 S. This innovation allows us to probe interfacial chemistries of electrochemically controlled solid/liquid interfaces undergoing charge transfer reactions [9 S.
