This communication presents the comparative experimental study of solar cookers based on the exergy analysis. In this study two different types of solar cookers viz. paraboloid type and box type have been evaluated using exergy analysis. The experiments have been carried out with cookers filled with different volume of water viz. one and two liters along with the suitable quantity of rice. Data of temperatures and solar radiation have been measured for different food stuff on clear sky day of the month. It is found that the exergy efficiency increases as the volume of water increases, however, the exergy efficiency of paraboloid solar cooker is found to be higher than that of the box-type solar cooker for all the cases mentioned above. However, it is also found that the exergy efficiency vary with the cooking stuff and water which is due to the fact that the requirement of heating vary with the food stuff.  相似文献

Nano-crystalline sulfated zirconia catalyst, prepared by two-step sol–gel method, has been studied for the solvent free self condensation of acetophenone to dypnone. The influence of calcination temperature on the structural, textural and catalytic activity of sulfated zirconia has been analyzed. The surface acidity along with the structural and textural features of the catalyst influenced its activity. The conversion of acetophenone was found to be effected by the variation in the reaction and calcination temperature, however, the dypnone selectivity was not affected much. The catalyst calcined at 650 °C, showed maximum dypnone selectivity of 92% with 68.2% acetophenone conversion at 170 °C after 7 h. The catalyst was reused up to five cycles with marginal decrease in acetophenone conversion, however, without losing its selectivity for dypnone.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of nano-crystalline sulfated zirconia catalyst, prepared by sol–gel method and characterized by various analytical tools, was evaluated for the esterification of caprylic acid with different short chain alcohols. The lower concentration of catalyst (0.5 wt%) exhibited 96–98% conversion of caprylic acid with methanol and 100% selectivity for methyl caprylate at 60 °C. The conversion was decreased with increasing carbon chain of alcohols namely with ethanol, n-propanol and n-butanol at 60 °C but increased significantly (91–98%) at higher reaction temperature. The selectivity for respective alkyl caprylate was observed to be 100% irrespective of the alcohol used. The activity of the catalyst was slightly decreased with successive five reaction cycles due to the water formed during the reaction.  相似文献

RF sputtered p-type nickel oxide (NiO) thin film exhibiting tunable semiconductor character which in turns enhanced its functional properties. NiO thin film with high hole mobility is developed as a potential matrix for the realization of glucose biosensor. NiO thin film prepared under the optimized deposition conditions offer good electrical conductivity (1.5 × 10−3 Ω−1-cm−1) with high hole mobility (2.8 cm2 V−1 s−1). The bioelectrode (GOx/NiO/ITO/glass) exhibits a low value of Michaelis–Menten constant (Km = 1.05 mM), indicating high affinity of the immobilized GOx toward the analyte (glucose). Due to the high surface coverage (2.32 × 10−7 mol cm−2) of the immobilized enzyme on to the NiO matrix and its high electrocatalytic activity, the prepared biosensor exhibits a high sensitivity of 0.1 mA (mM−1-cm−2) and a good linearity from 25 to 300 mg dL−1 of glucose concentration with fast response time of 5 s. Various functional properties of the material (mobility, crystallinity and stress) are found to influence the charge communication feature of NiO thin film matrix to a great extent, resulting in enhanced sensing response characteristics.  相似文献

We have synthesized polycrystalline La0.95Nd0.05CrO3 sample by doping the La-site of LaCrO3 with Nd and its magnetic properties have been studied using DC magnetization and neutron diffraction techniques. DC magnetization study shows a paramagnetic to a weak ferromagnetic-like transition at ∼295 K followed by signatures of a spin reorientation phenomenon at 233 and 166 K and, finally a transition to an antiferromagnetic-like phase at ∼21 K. Low-temperature neutron diffraction measurements confirm a weak ferrimagnetic ordering of Cr3+ moments at all temperatures below 295 K.  相似文献

Abstract— Anabaena doliolum , when exposed to either ultraviolet-B (UVB) radiation or Pb, showed reduced growth rate, carbon fixation, O2-evolution, photosynthetic electron transport activity and ATP pool size. The rate of respiration was found to increase in UVB-treated cells; this increase was more pronounced in the cells exposed to UVB and Pb simultaneously. The UVB-induced inhibition of 2,6-dichlorophenol indophenol (DCPIP) photoreduction and lowering of chlorophyll a fluorescence could not be reversed by artificial electron donors (diphenyl carbazide, NH2OH and MnCl2). These electron donors, however, substantially reversed the inhibition caused by Pb, thereby suggesting that UVB primarily inhibits the photosys-tem II (PS II) reaction center and Pb arrests the electron flow at the water splitting site. Nevertheless, the suppressed fluorescence intensity and the reduced emission and excitation peaks of phycobilisomes indicate the involvement of Pb in inhibition of PS II. All combinations of UVB and Pb inhibited the different metabolic processes in a synergistic manner.  相似文献

Purple colored single crystals of the β-modification of Li3TiF6 have been prepared by heating an appropriate mixture of LiF and TiF3 at 820°C under an argon atmosphere. β-Li3TiF6 crystallizes in C2/c with a = 14.452(2) Å, b = 8.798(1) Å, c = 10.113(1) Å and β = 96.30(1)º. The structure is isotypic to β-Li3VF6 and contains isolated compressed TiF6 octahedra (dTi–F = 1.91–2.01 Å). Magnetic properties of β-Li3TiF6 were studied and discussed. Band structure calculations and calculations of the Madelung part of the lattice energy, MAPLE, were performed to discuss the chemical bonding.  相似文献
