Drug abuse is both an age-old and a constantly evolving problem in society. Trends in illicit drug use are highly fluid, with new formulations increasing in popularity. For this reason, methods for illicit drug detection and analysis need to be continually updated so they remain useful and relevant. A recent trend in street heroin production has seen it diluted with large amounts of tramadol in addition to the classical diluents such as acetaminophen and caffeine. This study describes a sensitive, simple and accurate high-performance liquid chromatographic method with ultraviolet detection for the simultaneous detection of heroin, 6-acetylmorphine, morphine, tramadol and O-desmethyltramadol in the blood of rats using a liquid-liquid back-extraction method. The separation was performed on LichroCART RP-18e with particle size of 5 μm (250 × 4.6 mm) with mobile phase acetonitrile-50 mM KH(2)PO(4) buffer, pH 7.1, using a gradient mode with a 1.0 mL/min flow rate. The calibration curves were linear in the concentration ranges 0.25-100 and 0.1-100 μg/mL for morphine and other analytes, respectively. Recovery values for the substances ranged between 59 and 83%. This technique was successfully used in pharmacokinetic studies measuring 6-acetylmorphine, morphine, tramadol and O-desmethyltramadol in the blood of rats intraperitoneally treated with a blend of 10 mg/kg heroin and 70 mg/kg tramadol. This technique shows promise for analysis of confiscated street heroin.  相似文献

A non-similar boundary layer analysis is presented to study the flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics of non-Darcian mixed convection of a non-Newtonian fluid from a vertical isothermal plate embedded in a homogeneous porous medium with the effect of Soret and Dufour and in the presence of either surface injection or suction. The value of the mixed-convection parameter lies between 0 and 1. In addition, the power-law model is used for non-Newtonian fluids with exponent n < 1 for pseudoplastics n = 1 for Newtonian fluids and n > 1 for dilatant fluids. Furthermore, the coordinates and dependent variables are transformed to yield computationally efficient numerical solutions that are valid over the entire range of mixed convection, from the pure forced-convection limit to the pure free-convection limit, and the whole domain of non-Newtonian fluids, from pseudoplastics to dilatant fluids. The numerical solution of the problem is derived using a Runge–Kutta integration scheme with Newton–Raphson shooting technique. Distributions for velocity, temperature and concentration, as well as for the rate of wall heat and mass transfer, have been obtained and discussed for various physical parametric values.  相似文献

The spectra of rare earth elements (REE) have been investigated to select thermometric species for spectroscopic diagnostic of analytical plasmas. Groups of lines of Y II, La II, Eu II and Yb II were found appropriate for the determination of ionic excitation temperature in argon wall-stabilized plasma arc (WSA) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP). Boltzman plots with excellent Fitting to straight lines were obtained. Temperature values deduced with the different groups of spectral lines agree with each other as well as with that obtained with the most familiarly used Ti II lines.

Bench-scale experiments were conducted in the laboratory, aiming to remove aluminum from water. They were based on the use of powdered marble wastes (PMW), which are inexpensive and produced in large quantity, and thus potentially cause environmental problems, as an effective inorganic sorbent and oleic acid (HOL) as surfactant. The main parameters (solution pHs, sorbent, surfactant and aluminum concentrations, shaking time, ionic strength and the presence of foreign ions) that influence the sorptive-flotation process were examined. Good results were obtained under the optimum conditions, for which nearly 100% of aluminum at pH 7 and at room temperature (approximately 25 degrees C) was removed. The procedure was successfully applied to the recovery of aluminum spiked to some natural water samples. Moreover, a sorption and flotation mechanism is suggested.  相似文献

The self-assembly, the molecular dynamics, and the kinetics of structure formation are studied in dipole-functionalized hexabenzocoronene (HBC) derivatives. Dipole substitution destabilizes the columnar crystalline phase except for the dimethoxy- and monoethynyl-substituted HBCs that undergo a reversible transformation to the crystalline phase. The disk dynamics are studied by dielectric spectroscopy and site-specific NMR techniques that provide both the time-scale and geometry of motion. Application of pressure results in the thermodynamic phase diagram that shows increasing stability of the crystalline phase at elevated pressures. Long-lived metastability was found during the transformation between the two phases. These results suggest new thermodynamic and kinetic pathways that favor the phase with the highest charge carrier mobility.  相似文献

Dielectric spectroscopy (DS) measurements were performed to probe the segmental dynamics and ion mobility of poly(vinyl chloride-co-vinyl acetate-co-2-hydroxypropyl acrylate) terpolymer dopped with different amounts of tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate ([TBA] [BF4]) ionic liquid (IL). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was also employed to trace the change in the glass transition temperature (Tg) at different loads of IL. The DSC measurements revealed a remarkable reduction in the PVVH Tg from 344 to 310 K just by adding 20 wt% of IL. The DS measurements revealed three relaxation processes named α, β1, and β2. The α-process is related to the segmental motion of PVVH while the β1 and β2 are due to the restricted local dynamics of side chains. The segmental relaxation times (α-relaxation) speed up with increasing the concentration of IL due to the plasticization effect of IL on polymer chains. The temperature dependence of α-relaxation follows the Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann (VFT) relation with dynamic glass transition between 323 and 294 K in agreement with the DSC measurements. The β1 and β2-relaxations have an Arrhenius temperature dependence. The temperature dependence of ionic conductivity obeys the VFT behavior indicating the coupling between the segmental motion of PVVH chains and ion transport. Polaronic tunneling is the predominant conduction mechanism in PVVH and its composites. The specific capacitance increases with increasing both the temperature and IL concentration.  相似文献

Multiplexers have been extensively modeled as discrete time queueing systems. In this article, we model a multimedia multiplexer handling traffic of two classes. One class represents real-time traffic, e.g., packets of live audio or video transmissions, and the other nonreal-time traffic, e.g., packets of file transfer transmissions. These packets arrive into the multiplexer in batches. In each time slot, one batch of each class arrive. The multiplexer gives service priority to class-1 packets over class-2. The demands of each class are in conflict with that of the other, and thus they are treated by the multiplexer differently. The multiplexer is thus modeled as a (preemptive) priority discrete queueing system with simultaneous batch arrivals and geometric service time. The system occupancy is analyzed and the joint probability generating function (PGF) of the number of packets of each class is derived. From this PGF, marginal PGFs of interest are obtained. The results for deterministic service time, most suitable for ATM purposes, are readily obtainable as a special case from the results of this article.  相似文献

In this paper we report the construction of a hollow microtubular triazine‐ and benzobisoxazole‐based covalent organic framework (COF) presenting a sponge‐like shell through a template‐free [3+2] condensation of the planar molecules 2,4,6‐tris(4‐formylphenyl)triazine (TPT‐3CHO) and 2,5‐diaminohydroquinone dihydrochloride (DAHQ‐2HCl). The synthesized COF exhibited extremely high crystallinity, a high surface area (ca. 1855 m2 g?1), and ultrahigh thermal stability. Interestingly, a time‐dependent study of the formation of the hollow microtubular COF having a sponge‐like shell revealed a transformation from initial ribbon‐like crystallites into a hollow tubular structure, and confirmed that the hollow nature of the synthesized COF was controlled by inside‐out Ostwald ripening, while the non‐interaction of the crystallites on the outer surface was responsible for the sponge‐like surface of the tubules. This COF exhibited significant supercapacitor performance: a high specific capacitance of 256 F g?1 at a current density of 0.5 A g?1, excellent cycling stability (98.8 % capacitance retention over 1850 cycles), and a high energy density of 43 Wh kg?1. Such hollow structural COFs with sponge‐like shells appear to have great potential for use as high‐performance supercapacitors in energy storage applications.  相似文献
