Long‐range structural order and alignment over different scales are of key importance for the regulation of structure and functionality in biology. However, it remains a great challenge to engineer and assemble such complex functional synthetic systems with order over different length scales from simple biologically relevant molecules, such as peptides and porphyrins. Herein we describe the successful introduction of hierarchical long‐range order in dipeptide‐adjusted porphyrin self‐assembly by a thermodynamically driven self‐orienting assembly pathway associated with multiple weak interactions. The long‐range order and alignment of fiber bundles induced new properties, including anisotropic birefringence, a large Stokes shift, amplified chirality, and excellent photostability as well as sustainable photocatalytic activity. We also demonstrate that the aligned fiber bundles are able to induce the epitaxially oriented growth of Pt nanowires in a photocatalytic reaction.  相似文献

We have examined the singlet excitons in two representatives of acene-type (tetracene and pentacene) and phenacene-type (chrysene and picene) molecular crystals, respectively, using electron energy-loss spectroscopy at low temperatures. We show that the excitation spectra of the two hydrocarbon families significantly differ. Moreover, close inspection of the data indicates that there is an increasing importance of charge-transfer excitons at lowest excitation energy with increasing length of the molecules.  相似文献

In recent years, considerable efforts have been devoted to better understand the unique emission properties of fluorophores enhanced by the localized surface plasmon resonance of metal nanoparticles (NPs), due to the widespread applications of fluorescence techniques. It is demonstrated by experiment and theoretical calculation that the enhancement efficiency strongly depends on the morphology of the metal NPs, the spectral overlap between metal and fluorophores, the separation distance between them, and other factors. Among these aspects to be considered are suitable spacer material and assembling methods to control the spatial arrangement of plasmonic NPs and fluorophore with proper optical properties and interactions. In this contribution, we provide a brief overview on recent progress of metal-enhanced fluorescence in organized films and colloidal systems.  相似文献

A novel lipophilic drug carrier, "oil-in-water" multifunctional composite nanocontainers, is developed by combining ultrasonic technique and layer-by-layer assembly. Polyglutamate/polyethyleneimine/poly(acrylic acid) nanocontainers loaded with the lipophilic drug, rifampicin, dissolved in soybean oil were fabricated. Raman confocal microscopy and scanning electron microscopy proved the successful incorporation of rifampicin into composite water-dispersible polyglutamate/polyelectrolyte nanocontainers. Transmission electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy indicated that the drug can be released by changing the pH value of the media due to the pH-responsive properties of the polyglutamate/polyelectrolyte shell.  相似文献

The assembled polyelectrolyte nanotubes composed of poly(styrenesulfonate) and poly(allylamine hydrochloride) multilayers by using the layer-by-layer assembly combined with the porous template method can be transformed into capsules by a high-temperature treatment. Scanning electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy images revealed the whole transition process. The structure transformation of polyelectrolyte multilayers after annealing can be initiated by the input of thermal energy which leads to a breakage of ion pairs between oppositely charged polyelectrolyte groups. The transition process from tubes to capsules is supposed to be driven by the Raleigh instability and leads to the generated polyelectrolyte capsules with different sizes.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles of 10, 18, and 23 nm were synthesized in aqueous medium by chemical reduction of silver nitrate in excess of sodium borohydride. Modification of polyelectrolyte shells with synthesized silver nanoparticles was performed using the layer-by-layer approach. Remote opening of the polyelectrolyte/silver capsules was performed with a CW Nd:YAG FD laser with an average incident power output up to 70 mW. Capsules with a mixture of 10 and 18 nm silver nanoparticles in its polyelectrolyte shell were ruptured after less than 7 s of laser irradiation, while microcapsules with 23 nm silver nanoparticles in the shell were broken after 11 s of laser treatment and 10 nm silver nanoparticles were broken after 26 s.  相似文献

Rum and cacha?a are sugarcane distillates produced on large scales and of similar composition, and their differentiation is currently a subject of commercial dispute and a challenging analytical task. We have investigated the ability of direct-infusion electrospray ionization mass spectrometry in the negative ion mode, i.e. ESI(-)-MS, to distinguish between samples of these distillates. ESI(-)-MS fingerprints were collected for some samples of Brazilian artisan cacha?a, aged in two types of wooden casks, i. e. amburana (Amburana cearensis) and jequitibá (Cariniana estrellensis), and of commercial rum. The mass spectra were found to be very distinctive, showing sets of diagnostic ions for each type of sample, i. e. (1) cacha?a aged in amburana (m/z 271, 313, 377) and jequitibá (m/z 171, 255, 455) casks; and (2) commercial rum (m/z 89, 97, 179, 255, 283). When applied to the ESI(-)-MS data, principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis split rum and cacha?a samples into well-defined groups. Moreover, the two types of cacha?a samples aged in wooden casks of amburana or jequitibá were also split into two distinct groups. Direct-infusion ESI(-)-MS can therefore be potentially applied to the rapid, simple, and accurate differentiation of these commercially important sugarcane distillates.  相似文献
