Inverse Micellar Catalysis of Phosphorylation of Hydroxybenzylated Polyethylenimines

The aggregation in polyethylenimine-chloroform and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide-polyethylenimine-chloroform systems is studied by dielcometric titration. Inverse micelles of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide catalyze the phosphorylation of hydroxybenzylated polyethylenimines in chloroform. The dependence of parameters of the micelle-catalyzed reaction on the structure and concentration of polyethylenimine and on the reaction temperature is studied. The inverse micelles affect the complexation of polyethylenimines with 4-nitrophenol.     

Domain structure of “transcritical” films of permalloy

The domain structure of transcritical films of permalloy between 0·5 and 40 m thick has been studied by the powder method. A zigzag curvature of domain walls has been found ath> >3 m. The effect of external magnetic fields on powder depositions has been investigated, a model of domain structure supposing the closing of magnetic flux being proposed.Submitted for publication, not presented at the IVth ICMTF.

Stereoisomers of 2-methyl-1-thiadecalin

Evolution of Optical Diffraction Patterns on Disordered Woodpile Photonic Structures

Using three-dimensional direct laser writing, ordered and disordered photonic woodpile structures have been produced. An ideal woodpile is formed by layers of parallel “logs” turned through 90° with respect to logs of the previous layer. The disorder was specified by a random deviation in the angle with respect to their parallel arrangement in each layer of the woodpile. The quality of samples was tested by scanning electron microscopy. The optical diffraction patterns were studied experimentally on microsamples with different degrees of disorder and structure periods. With an increase in the degree of the disorder, the diffraction patterns changed qualitatively with the preservation of the zero diffraction order and formation of a speckle field pattern by higher diffraction orders.

     

Alkylated polyethyleneimine-cationic surfactant-calix[4]resorcinarene-chloroform catalytic system

The kinetics of phosphorylation of alkylated polyethyleneimine in chloroform in the presence of cationic surfactants with a cyclic or bicyclic head group and alkylated calix[4]resorcinarenes has been investigated by UV spectrophotometry. The catalytic activity of individual and mixed solutions of the amphiphilic admixtures depends on the structure of the constituents of the composition, on their concentrations in the solution, and on their relative amounts. In the presence of a calixarene, a decrease in the surfactant and polymer concentrations enhances the catalytic effect of the system.
