The presence of non-hexagonal rings in the honeycomb carbon arrangement of graphene produces rippled graphene layers with valuable chemical and physical properties. In principle, a bottom-up approach to introducing distortion from planarity of a graphene sheet can be achieved by careful insertion of curved polyaromatic hydrocarbons during the growth of the lattice. Corannulene, the archetype of such non-planar polyaromatic hydrocarbons, can act as an ideal wrinkling motif in 2D carbon nanostructures. Herein we report an electrochemical bottom-up method to obtain egg-box shaped nanographene structures through a polycondensation of corannulene that produces a new conducting layered material. Characterization of this new polymeric material by electrochemistry, spectroscopy, electron microscopy (SEM and TEM), scanning probe microscopy, and laser desorption-ionization time of flight mass spectrometry provides strong evidence that the anodic polymerization of corannulene, combined with electrochemically induced oxidative cyclodehydrogenations (Scholl reactions), leads to polycorannulene with a wavy graphene-like structure.

Evidence of quantum spin fluid and of quantum spin glass behaviour has been detected by extended EPR analysis in some La-cuprate catalysts of general formula La2−xEuxCuO4 + δ. Some features of the EPR spectrum, appearing in a few cases, are also discussed and attributed to a pseudo Jahn-Teller effect due to a particular coordination of up to five oxygen ions around surface copper ions at low temperature.  相似文献

We compare the electric and pure magnetic contributions to the differential cross sectiond(npnp)/ds' of neutron-proton bremsstrahlung. A rapid, simple and selective method involving direct separation by gas chromatography (GC) with electron ionization mass spectrometry (EI-MS) was employed to determine some N-acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs). Using GC/EI-MS, simultaneous separation and characterization of AHLs were possible without prior derivatization. Informative fragmentation patterns were obtained to identify the structures of N-acyl chains of AHLs. Electron ionization resulted in a common fragmentation pattern with the most abundant ion at m/z 143 and other minor peaks at m/z 71, 57, and 43. The presence of AHLs in extracts of Burkholderia cepacia strains was achieved in selected ion monitoring mode by using the prominent fragment at m/z 143.  相似文献

The guest-induced synthesis of a molecular box from methylaquacobaloxime and 1,4-phenylenebisboronic acid, with pyrazine (pz) as guest, is described. The resulting supramolecular species was characterized by X-ray structural analysis, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, and low-resolution electrospray ionization (ES) mass spectrometry. The assembly was monitored by a time dependent 1H NMR experiment, which showed that the guest thermodynamically drives the assembly of the host. The effectiveness of pyrazine in this role arises from its having both the correct geometry and a sufficiently low pKa value. Several other ditopic ligands were tested, but none led to formation of an analogous product. However, a second supramolecular species was formed in the case of ethylenediamine (en). X-ray structural analysis and 1H and 13C spectroscopy revealed that this is closely related to the first, with a phenyl side removed and the pz bridge substituted by the en bridge.  相似文献
