VECTOR-VALUED RANDOM POWER SERIES ON THE UNIT BALL OF C^n

In this article, the authors study the vector-valued random power series on the unit ball of Cn and get vector-valued Salem-Zygmund theorem for them by using martingale technique. Further, the relationships between vector-valued random power series and several function spaces are also studied.     

Strong instability of solitary waves for nonlinear Klein–Gordon equations and generalized Boussinesq equations

We study here instability problems of standing waves for the nonlinear Klein–Gordon equations and solitary waves for the generalized Boussinesq equations. It is shown that those special wave solutions may be strongly unstable by blowup in finite time, depending on the range of the wave's frequency or the wave's speed of propagation and on the nonlinearity.     

DIRICHLET BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR SECOND-ORDER QUASI-LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH CHANGING SIGN NONLINEARITIES

This paper is concerned with the existence of positive solutions of two-point Dirichlet singular and nonsingular boundary problems for second-order quasi-linear differential equations with changing sign nonlinearities.

A study of the polymerization of styrene initiated by K-THF-GIC system

In this paper, the polymerization of styrene initiated by potassium (K)-tetrahydrofuran (THF)-graphite intercalation compound (GIC) (K-THF-GIC) was studied. The mechanism of the polymerization was determined to be anionic polymerization according to its characteristics. The effect of the concentration of the initiator and monomer was studied. It was found that the polymerization mainly occurred on the surface and edge of the intercalated graphite. It was also shown that the polarity of solvent has little effect on the polymerization yield in this system.     

Facile route to high-density, ordered ZnO nanowire arrays and their photoluminescence properties

A simple template-directed wet chemistry route based on traditional thermal decomposition technique has been developed for the preparation of high-density, ordered ZnO nanowire arrays. The fabrication was performed at relative low temperature without involving complex procedures, sophisticated equipment and rigorous experiment conditions, thereby providing a straightforward and mild method to produce metal/metal oxide ordered nanostructures. The nanowire array system was evaluated by SEM, XRD, TEM and PL. A stable luminescence at 425 nm was present.     

IR and XPS investigation of visible-light photocatalysis—Nitrogen-carbon-doped TiO2 film

To use solar irradiation or interior lighting efficiently, we sought a photocatalyst with high reactivity under visible light. Nitrogen and carbon doping TiO_2−x−yN_xC_y films were obtained by heating the TiO₂ gel in an ionized N₂ gas and then were calcined at 500 °C. The TiO_2−x−yN_xC_y films have revealed an improvement over the TiO₂ films under visible light (wavelength, 500 nm) in optical absorption and photocatalytic activity such as photodegradation of methyl orange. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy, infrared spectrum and UV-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy were used to find the difference of two kinds of films. Nitrogen and carbon doped into substitutional sites of TiO₂ has been proven to be indispensable for band-gap narrowing and photocatalytic activity.     

Simulation of soliton propagation in a directional coupler

Soliton propagation in a directional fiber coupler is investigated. By using Fourier series analysis technique (FSAT), the effects of radii ratio and intermodal dispersion on soliton switching have been investigated.     

The Lagrangian Globalization Method for Nonsmooth Constrained Equations

The difficulty suffered in optimization-based algorithms for the solution of nonlinear equations lies in that the traditional methods for solving the optimization problem have been mainly concerned with finding a stationary point or a local minimizer of the underlying optimization problem, which is not necessarily a solution of the equations. One method to overcome this difficulty is the Lagrangian globalization (LG for simplicity) method. This paper extends the LG method to nonsmooth equations with bound constraints. The absolute system of equations is introduced. A so-called Projected Generalized-Gradient Direction (PGGD) is constructed and proved to be a descent direction of the reformulated nonsmooth optimization problem. This projected approach keeps the feasibility of the iterates. The convergence of the new algorithm is established by specializing the PGGD. Numerical tests are given. 聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯掺杂Ce3+的飞秒激光三维信息存储

用飞秒激光(200 fs,1 kHz,800 nm)脉冲在掺杂稀土离子Ce3 的聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)膜中进行了光存储实验研究,包括对样品的吸收光谱、激光照射前后的电子旋转共振(Electron spin resonance,ESR)光谱的测量和讨论。结果表明掺杂稀土离子Ce3 的聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯膜具有较低的写入阈值,有利于高速、并行的三维光存储。实验结果采用传统光学显微镜并行读出。给出了四层存储结果(点间距和层间距分别是4μm和16μm),并讨论了脉冲能量的大小对空腔尺寸的影响,进行高密度存储时,在保证读出信号灰度值足够大的情况下,应选择尽量小的激光脉冲写入能量。实验结果表明这种材料可以应用于三维光信息存储。
