High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps are difficult to re-ignite rapidly because of the high pressure of metal vapor at high temperatures. We have succeeded in reducing the re-ignition time of high-pressure mercury lamps by using a pre-ionization step where an excess of electrons are generated by UV laser irradiation into the lamp. The effect of changing the laser focal point of the UV laser in the lamp and the position of an auxiliary electrode were also investigated. The time interval for re-ignition was reduced from 230s to 100s by laser irradiation near to the cathode. The results clearly showed that the effect of accelerating the re-ignition time by the pre-ionization step was determined by the behavior of excess electrons generated during the UV laser irradiation.  相似文献

Rare earth ion (Tb3+ and Eu3+)-doped alumina films were prepared by the aqueous sol-gel method under various conditions. The influences of the OH groups (phonon relaxation) and rare earth ion concentration (cross-relaxation) on luminescence were examined. In regard to the former relaxation, at treatment temperature above 600°C, reciprocal lifetime decreased with OH concentration, and below 500°C, decreased markedly and nonlinearly. On the other hand, in regard to the latter relaxation, there was negligible effect on luminescence for these doped films. The quantitative treatment was tried to lifetime considering these influences. Tb3+ and Eu3+ co-doped alumina films showed enhanced Eu3+ luminescence by the energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+. Eu3+ luminescence intensity increased with a greater Tb3+ concentration.  相似文献

Introduction of soft filler in a hard body, which is one of the common toughening methods of hard polymeric materials, was applied for further toughening of robust double network (DN) hydrogels composed of poly(2‐acrylamido‐2‐methylpropanesulfonic acid) gels (PAMPS gels) as the first component and polyacrylamide (PAAm) as the second component. The fracture energy of the DN gels with the void structure (called void‐DN gels) became twice when the volume fraction of void was 1–3 vol % and the void diameter was much larger than the Flory radius of the PAAm chains. Such toughening was induced by wider range of internal fracture of the PAMPS network derived from partial stress concentration near void structure. Considering the mechanical tests and the dynamic light scattering results, it is implied that the absence of the load‐bearing PAAm structure inside the void is important for the toughening. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Macrocycles consisted of pyridine rings and acetylene bonds were prepared by Eglinton coupling from a tandem precursor bearing two terminal alkynyl groups. The composition of molecular size in the cyclized products changed by the reaction solvent. In pyridine, 9-meric and bigger macrocycles were obtained, while that of 6-mer was not. On the other hand, in pyridine/THF mixed solvent, the 6-mer was obtained as a major product.  相似文献

A macrocyclic host molecule having pyridine-pyridone-pyridine modules for saccharide recognition was prepared by Cu(II)-mediated oxidative homocoupling of a tandem diethynyl precursor. In CH(2)Cl(2), the host molecule associated with dodecyl β-maltoside much more strongly (K(a) = 1.4 × 10(6) M(-1)) than with octyl monohexosides (K(a) = ca. 2 × 10(3) to 1 × 10(4) M(-1)), accompanied with induced CDs. An all-pyridine macrocyclic host was also studied, and its binding strength with saccharides was weaker than that for the pyridine-pyridone-pyridine host.  相似文献

Anti-ribonucleoprotein (anti-RNP) antibodies are one of the representative autoantibodies detectable in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD). Generally, posttranslational modifications (PTMs) on autoantigens are proposed to be involved in the production of autoantibodies. In this study, we tried to detect the alteration in PTMs on a U1 small nuclear RNP 68k subunit (U1-68k), a major antigen of anti-RNP antibodies. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were obtained from patients with MCTD, SLE, and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and from healthy donors. U1-68ks in the PBMCs were detected by 2D Western blot (WB), where extracted nuclear proteins were separated by 2DE, followed by the detection of U1-68k using WB. More than 20 PTM isoforms were detected with different molecular weights of 65.0 , 66.5, and 68.0kDa, and different pIs between 6.0 and 8.5. Importantly, the relative intensity of the spot with 66.5 kDa and pI 7.5 was significantly increased in the MCTD and SLE groups compared to the RA and healthy groups. Further, this U1-68k isoform, in particular, in its RS domain, was found to have significantly decreased phosphorylation compared to the other isoforms. The PTM alternation may be one of the steps to generate the anti-RNP antibodies.  相似文献

Direct production of single electrons in proton-nucleus collisions at 13 GeV/c has been measured. A rising eπ ratio with decreasing pT above the 10?4 level is observed for low pT single electrons. The source of the rising eπ ratio at low eπ ratio at low pT is discussed in connection with the low mass dielectron continuum below the ? mass region.  相似文献

A search for K+ → π+γ, π+γγ, π+γγγ was made detecting pions from stopped kaons in the kinetic energy region between 117 MeV and 127 MeV. New Limits of 1.4 ×10?6, 8.4 × 10?6 and 1.0 × 10?4 for the branching ratio were obtained assuming a phase-space spectrum on the pion energy. The first limit also aplies to another process K+ → π+ + a, where a is a light meson with mass smaller than 100 MeV/c2 and decays into nγ's with lifetime less than 10?9 s.  相似文献
