Isolated vortex structure and the lower critical field for clean type II superconductors far from Tc
The structure of an isolated vortex line and the lower critical field have been calculated numerically from Eilenberger's version of the Gorkov theory. Results for clean superconductors with κ between and 2 and temperatures down to 0.25 Tc are reported and compared with experiment. 相似文献

Boryl, borylene, and base‐stabilized borylene complexes of manganese and iron undergo a range of different reactions when treated with isonitriles including single, double, and partial isonitrile insertions into metal?boron bonds, ring formation, isonitrile coupling, and the liberation of new monovalent boron species. Two of the resulting cyclic species have also been found to react selectively with anhydrous HCl to form ring‐opened products. The diverse isonitrile‐promoted reactivity of transition‐metal–boron compounds has been explored computationally. 相似文献

The large deformation behavior of a viscoelastic squeeze film being compressed or extended between two parallel circular plates is studied from a Lagrangian viewpoint. A single integro-differential equation is shown to govern the flow of a rubberlike liquid in this geometry, and the solution is compared with results for a Newtonian squeeze film. A facile approach to bimetallic phosphides, Co‐Fe‐P, by a high‐temperature (300 °C) reaction between Co‐Fe‐O nanoparticles and trioctylphosphine is presented. The growth of Co‐Fe‐P from the Co‐Fe‐O is anisotropic. As a result, Co‐Fe‐P nanorods (from the polyhedral Co‐Fe‐O nanoparticles) and sea‐urchin‐like Co‐Fe‐P (from the cubic Co‐Fe‐O nanoparticles) are synthesized with both the nanorod and the sea‐urchin‐arm dimensions controlled by Co/Fe ratios. The Co‐Fe‐P structure, especially the sea‐urchin‐like (Co0.54Fe0.46)2P, shows enhanced catalysis for the oxygen evolution reaction in KOH with its catalytic efficiency surpassing the commercial Ir catalyst. Our synthesis is simple and may be readily extended to the preparation of other multimetallic phosphides for important catalysis and energy storage applications. 相似文献

The biomaterial bacterial cellulose (BC) represents an innovative approach for overcoming reconstructive problems associated with extended vascular diseases by providing small caliber vascular grafts (diameter 1.0–3.7, length 5.0–10.0, and wall-thickness 0.7 mm). In a first microsurgical study, the BC implants were attached in an artificial defect of the carotid artery of rats for 1 year. These long term results show the incorporation of the BC under formation of neointima and ingrowth of active fibroblasts. In a second study, the grafts were used to replace the carotid arteries of pigs. After 3 months, these grafts were removed and analyzed both macro- and microscopically. Seven grafts (87.5%) were patent whereas one graft was found occluded. These data indicate that the innovative BC engineering technique results in the production of stable vascular conduits and confirm a highly attractive approach to in vivo tissue engineered blood vessels as part of programs in cardiovascular surgery. 相似文献

We give a brief introduction to the stochastic immersed boundary method which allows for simulation of small length-scale physical systems in which elastic structures interact with a fluid flow in the presence of thermal fluctuations. The conventional immersed boundary method is extended to account for thermal fluctuations by introducing stochastic forcing terms in the fluid equations. This gives a system of stiff SPDE's for which standard numerical approaches perform poorly. We discuss a numerical method derived using stochastic calculus to overcome the stiff features of the equations. We then discuss results which indicate that the method captures physical features predicted by statistical mechanics for small length-scale systems. The stochastic immersed boundary method holds promise as a numerical approach in simulating microscopic mechanical systems in which thermal fluctuations play a fundamental role. While we do not examine extensions of S(3,4,16)'s, we do determine all other possible extensions of S(3,K,v)'s for v ≤ 16. A commercial mixture of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) isomers, reportedly consisting of six components, was recently resolved into 12 peaks attributed to CLA isomers using silver-ion high performance liquid chromatography (Ag+-HPLC). In this study, the coupling of two analytical silver-ion high performance liquid chromatography columns (tandem-column Ag+-HPLC) in series led to the enhanced resolution of CLA isomers. Many CLA isomers were baseline resolved and the pair 18 : 2 8,10 c/t and 18 : 2 7,9 c/t found in cheese products, was resolved for the first time. In this work, a similar commercial CLA mixture was separated into 16 peaks, while CLA isomers from cheese also gave rise to 16 peaks. As expected, the CLA isomers were separated into three geometric groups in the order trans,trans, cis/trans, and cis,cis. Semi-preparative Ag+-HPLC, followed by gas chromatography–mass spectroscopy of the dimethyloxazoline derivatives, was used to confirm the identity of the newly resolved positional CLA isomers. The double bond configuration of CLA isomers was established by gas chromatography–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Two minor t,t CLA isomers found in cheese, presumably 18 : 2 t6t8 and 18 : 2 t13t15, were also separated. The CLA isomeric composition of 16 commercial cheese products was determined. 相似文献
