We present the results of a time-dependent quantum mechanical investigation using centrifugal sudden approximation in the form of reaction probability as a function of collision energy (E(trans)) in the range 0.3-3.0 eV for a range of total angular momentum (J) values and the excitation function sigma(E(trans)) for the exchange reaction H(-) + H(2) (v = 0, j = 0) --> H(2) + H(-) and its isotopic variants in three dimensions on an accurate ab initio potential energy surface published recently (J. Chem. Phys. 2004, 121, 9343). The excitation function results are shown to be in excellent agreement with those obtained from crossed beam measurements by Zimmer and Linder for H(-) + D(2) collisions for energies below the threshold for electron detachment channel and somewhat larger than the most recent results of Haufler et al. for (H(-), D(2)) and (D(-), H(2)) collisions.  相似文献

In the past, bio‐inspired extreme water repellent property has been strategically embedded on commercially available sponges for developing selective oil absorbents. However, most of the reported materials lack physical and chemical durability, limiting their applicability at practically harsh settings. Herein, a stable dispersion of polymeric nanocomplexes was exploited to achieve a chemically reactive coating on the highly compressible melamine foam. A superhydrophobic melamine foam (SMF) was achieved after post‐covalent modification of the reactive coating through 1,4‐conjugate addition reaction at ambient conditions. The durability of the embedded extreme water repellent property in the as‐modified melamine foam has been elaborately demonstrated through exposing it to severe physical manipulations, chemically harsh aqueous media including pH 1, pH 12, surfactant contaminated water, river water, seawater and prolonged UV irradiation. Thus, the highly tolerant SMF was utilized as an efficient oil absorbent wherein oils of varying densities could be selectively recovered from an oil/water interface with high (e.g., 137 g g?1 for chloroform and 83 g g?1 for diesel) oil absorption capacity. Moreover, the selective oil absorption capacity of the as‐synthesized material remained unaffected at practically relevant severe chemical and physical settings, and the extreme water repellency of the material remained unaltered even after repetitive (at least 50 cycles) use for oil/water separation.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of crystalline porous materials that have been actively used for several industrial and synthetic applications. MOFs are spatially and geometrically extrapolated coordination polymers with intriguing properties such as tunable porosity and dimensionality. In terms of their catalytic efficiency, MOFs combine the easy recoverability of heterogeneous catalysts with the increased selectivity of biological catalysts. It is therefore not surprising that a lot of work on optimizing MOF catalysts for organic transformations has been carried out over the past decade. In this review, recent developments in MOF catalysis are summarized, with special attention being paid to C−C, C−N, and C−O coupling reactions. The influence of pore size, pore environment, and load on catalytic activity is described. Post-synthetic stabilization techniques and host–guest interactions in caged MOF scaffolds are detailed. Mechanistic aspects pertaining to the use of MOFs in asymmetric heterogeneous catalysis are highlighted and categorized.  相似文献

In the present paper, the behavior of stone column-supported geosynthetic-reinforced embankments has been studied. The soil arching effect is incorporated in the study to determine the stresses acting on stone columns as well as soft soil. The effect of stiffness of the stone column is also incorporated in the present study. Based on the stress action in the improved ground, stress concentration ratio, axial strain of geosynthetic reinforcement, tension developed in it and settlement of the improved soft ground are determined by using the developed methodology. Present analytical method is also verified with several current design methods. It is observed from parametric studies that modular ratio or stiffness of the stone columns, spacing to diameter ratio, height of the embankment, depth of the soft soil, stiffness of the geosynthetic reinforcement significantly affect the behavior of geosynthetic-reinforced stone column-supported embankments resting on soft soil.  相似文献

Soil arching is a common phenomena in pile or columnar (vibroconcrete columns, soil–cement columns by mixing or grouting, stone columns) supported geosynthetic-reinforced or unreinforced embankments resting on soft soil. Due to soil arching, stress acting on soft soil or geosynthetic reinforcement decreases and stress on piles or columns increases. In this paper, using mechanical elements (such as spring, dashpot), a generalized mathematical model has been developed to study the soil arching effect in stone column-supported geosynthetic-reinforced and unreinforced embankments resting on soft soil. Pasternak model concept has been used to model the embankment soil. The soft soil has been idealized by spring-dashpot system to include the time-dependent behavior. The stone columns and geosynthetic reinforcement are idealized by stiffer nonlinear springs and rough elastic membrane, respectively. The consolidation effect of soft soil due to inclusions of stone columns has also been included in the model to study its effect on soil arching. Plane strain condition has been considered in the analysis. A finite difference scheme has been used to solve the governing differential equations and results are presented in non-dimensional form. It has been observed that the height of embankment, degree of consolidation of soft soil, stiffness of the stone column material, spacing between the stone columns, use of geosynthetic reinforcement and properties of soft and embankment soils (such as ultimate bearing capacity of soft soil, shear modulus and ultimate shearing resistance of embankment soil) significantly influence the degree of soil arching.  相似文献

A semiconductor amplifier (SOA) based all optical read only memory (ROM) is proposed and discussed using non linear polarization rotation. The ROM based on 2-4 line decoder is based on frequency encoded addressing technique, which has several advantages over other encoding techniques. The SOA has sufficiently high switching speed with property of efficient ON/OFF contrast ratio, which makes it attractive for all optical processors in computation and communication. The author has discussed the addressing and storing of the characters of American standard code for exchange of information.  相似文献
