The characteristics of neutrino-nuclear reactions at <Emphasis Type="Italic">E</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">ν</Emphasis></Subscript> = 1–3 GeV

The characteristics of the charged-current neutrino—nuclear interactions are investigated for the first time at E _ν = 1–3 GeV using the data obtained with SKAT propane-freon bubble chamber irradiated in the neutrino beam at the Serpukhov accelerator. The E _ν dependence of the mean multiplicities of different types of secondary particles and their multiplicity, momentum, and angular distributions are measured. A method of determining the maximum in a deexcitation function

A method of determining a primary maximum in a deexcitation function is established analytically. An equation for describing the effective cross sections for the excitation and ionization of atoms by electron impact is obtained.

Method of determining absolute cross sections of collisions of the second kind between Hg(63P0,2) atoms and slow electrons

An equation giving the absolute cross sections q₂₁(u) of collisions of the second kind between excited atoms and slow electrons is obtained. The determination of q₂₁(u) entails measurement of the current on the collector which is due to collisions of the second kind and the effective life of the investigated level. The value of q₂₁(u) and Hg(6³P_0,2) was calculated. The value of q₂₁(u) was determined for the following slow-electron energies: in the case of Hg(6³P₀) q₂₁(u)=2.6 · 10^–15 cm² for u=0.13 eV and for Hg(6³P₂) q₂₁(u)=1.1 · 10^–15 cm² for u=0.3 eV. Spectrophotometric investigations of protonated forms of heterocyclic compounds

2,4,6-trimethylpyridine, quinoline, 2-methylquinoline, 4-chlorine-2-methylquinoline, and acridine aromatic heterocycles, as well as protonated forms thereof, are studied by electronic absorption spectroscopy in solution. The influence of protonation on the electronic absorption spectra of heterocycles consists in a long-wavelength shift of the absorption spectrum in comparison with the absorption of initial molecules. The spectra of the protonated forms of all compounds exhibit a relative increase in the intensity of the long-wavelength absorption band compared to the short-wavelength band and a smearing of the vibrational structure in the long-wavelength band.
