Future measurements of transversity

A review of future quark transversity measurements is presented.     

Novel diamides of 2,2′-dipyridyl-6,6′-dicarboxylic acid: synthesis, coordination properties, and possibilities of use in electrochemical sensors and liquid extraction

The procedure was proposed for the synthesis of various dipyridyldiamides. Their various properties in the series of rare-earth elements were studied. The possibility to use the synthe-sized compounds in polymer membranes of electrochemical sensors for the development of novel types of sensors was shown. A comparison of the influence of the ligand structure on the extraction and sensor characteristics was performed.     

Strong integral operators

The limit spectrum of a positive operator in <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript> that is integral on some subspace

Given a positive linear operator S: L ₂ → L ₂ integral on some dense subspace in L ₂, we prove that 0 belongs to the limit spectrum of S.     

The study of redox reactions of bisarenechromium complexes by the rotating disk electrode technique: I. Oxidation of bisarenechromium(O) complexes and reduction of bisarenechromium(I) cations

The redox properties of twenty bisarenechromium complexes have been studied by the rotating disk electrode technique in an aprotic solvent (DMSO). The half-wave potentials, E_1/2, have been found to correlate well with the meta-substituent constants. The conclusion is drawn that the electronic effects of substituents are mainly transferred to the reaction centre (the metal atom) by the inductive mechanism. The conjugation of substituents with the coordinated ring is weaker in bisarenechromium complexes than in ferrocene derivatives.     

Synthesis, structure, and dielectric properties of KH2PO4 fractal aggregates

Macroscopic fractal aggregates of KH₂PH₄ (KDP) measuring up to 500 μm have been obtained. The fractal structure forms as a result of the precipitation of KDP particles from a supersaturated aqueous solution in the presence of a temperature gradient followed by a diffusioncontrolled mechanism of aggregation. The electron-microscopic analysis performed has shown that the fractals are formed predominantly from crystallites of the tetragonal modification measuring ∼1 μm. The dielectric constant (ɛ) of fractal KH₂PO₄ has been measured in the temperature range 80–300 K. A characteristic anomaly has been discovered on the ɛ(T) curve in the vicinity of 122 K, which attests to a ferroelectric phase transition. The absolute value of ɛ is significantly smaller than the components ɛ ₁₁ and ɛ ₃₃ for KH₂PO₄. Fiz. Tverd. Tela (St. Petersburg) 41, 2059–2061 (November 1999)     

Dielectric properties of (1−x)[0.7PbZrO3·0.3K0.5Bi0.5TiO3]·xSrTiO3 solid solutions in the vicinity of phase transitions

The dielectric properties of polycrystalline (1−x)[0.7PbZrO₃·0.3K_0.5Bi_0.5TiO₃]·xSrTiO₃ solid solutions, where x=0–0.7, are studied in the temperature range 150–600 K. Systematic spreading of the ferroelectric phase transition with increasing strontium titanate content is discovered. The dispersion of the dielectric constant at frequencies from 10⁻¹ to 10⁶ Hz is investigated for a composition with x⋍0.7. The existence of two relaxation processes characterized by diffuse relaxation time spectra, which broaden with decreasing temperature, is established.
