The anionic polymerization of butadiene, to both the 1,2- and 1,4-addition products, is an important industrial process. It is known that the reaction can be steered to either the 1,2- or 1,4-product by the addition, or absence, of a complexing solvent such as ether. The goals of the current study were to map the MNDO Potential Energy Surfaces (PES) of the propagation reactions both in the presence and absence of dimethyl ether to gain insight into the factors influencing the reaction's selectivity. Single point ab initio calculations at the DZP level were run on all reactants, products and transition states as a cross check on the MNDO results.  相似文献

First‐principles quantum mechanical calculations of NMR chemical shifts and quadrupolar parameters have been carried out to assign the 27Al MAS NMR resonances in gibbsite. The 27Al NMR spectrum shows two signals for octahedral aluminum revealing two aluminum sites coordinated by six hydroxyl groups each, although the crystallographic positions of the two Al sites show little difference. The presence of two distinguished 27Al NMR resonances characterized by rather similar chemical shifts but quadrupolar coupling constants differing by roughly a factor of two is explained by different character of the hydrogen bonds, in which the hydroxyls forming the corresponding octahedron around each aluminum site, are involved. The Al‐I site characterized by a CQ = 4.6 MHz is surrounded by OH? groups participating in four intralayer and two interlayer hydrogen bonds, while the Al‐II site with the smaller quadrupolar constant (2.2 MHz) is coordinated by hydroxides, of which two point toward the intralayer cavities and four OH‐bonds are aligned toward the interlayer gallery. In high‐resolution solid‐state 1H CRAMPS (combination of rotation and multiple‐pulse spectroscopy) four signals with an intensity ratio of 1:2:2:1 are resolved which allow to distinguish six nonequivalent hydrogen sites reported in the gibbsite crystal structure and to ascribe them to two types of structural OH groups associated with intralayer and interlayer hydrogen bonds. This study can be applied to characterize the gibbsite‐like layer—intergallery interactions associated with hydrogen bonding in the more complex systems, such as synthetic aluminum layered double hydroxides. This paper reports two subjects. It describes LC-GC transfer by partially concurrent eluent evaporation at a greatly accelerated rate, as required for optimal compatibility with 2–3 mm i.d. LC columns and LC flow rates up to some 500 μl/min. Evaporation rates around 200 μl/min were obtained using a 0.53 mm. i.d. uncoated pre-column and an early vapor exit. A stationary-phasecoated “retaining” pre-column was used for preventing escape of volatile solutes through the vapor exit. The technique was used for the detection of food irradiation by analyzing selected radiolysis products of triglycerides, namely alkanes/alkanes and aldehydes. Extracted fat of chicken, hazel-nuts, and soup mixes was injected in LO and the relevant fractions were transferred on-line to GC. For chicken and nuts, detection of irradiation was possible down to doses below 0.5 kGy. Detection limits were higher for soup mixes due to interfering peaks.  相似文献

Reaction between the cluster salts [(eta(5)-Cp')(3)M(3)S(4)][pts] (M = Mo, W; Cp' = methylcyclopentadienyl; pts = p-toluenesulfonate) and [Co(2)(CO)(8)] yielded the electroneutral clusters [(eta(5)-Cp')(3)M(3)S(4)Co(CO)]. The molecular structure of [(eta(5)-Cp')(3)W(3)S(4)Co(CO)] was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The unprecedented 60 electron W(3)S(4)Co cluster completes a homologous series of heterobimetallic clusters, [(eta(5)-Cp')(3)M(3)S(4)Co(CO)] (M = Cr, Mo, W), containing a cubane-like core motif.  相似文献

The mighty cinchonidine: A diastereomeric surface complex in the asymmetric hydrogenation of ketopantolactone on chirally modified Pt is monitored by in?situ ATR-IR spectroscopy, in combination with modulation excitation spectroscopy and phase-sensitive detection. Cinchonidine bound to the surface with its quinoline ring is shown to induce the chiral environment through a C9?O???H???O?C interaction.  相似文献

Photoionization of protein ions: The ionization energy of polyprotonated protein cations in the gas phase measured using VUV synchrotron radiation appears to be correlated with the charge state z of the protein and its tertiary structure. A simple electrostatic model accounts for the results and also shows predictive capabilities to derive a mean radius R(m) of the protein ion from the ionization energy, and vice versa.  相似文献
