Recent studies on molecular 2D materials with high tunability of structure and function have focused mostly on the discovery of new precursors. Here, we demonstrate a facile one-pot synthesis of laminated 2D coordination polymer films comprising bis(terpyridine)iron and cobalt at a water/dichloromethane interface. Cross-sectional elemental mapping unveiled the stratum-like structure of the film and revealed that the second layer grows to the dichloromethane side below the first layer. Cyclic voltammetry clarified that the bottom layer mediates charge transfer between the top layer and the substrate in a narrow potential region of mixed-valence states. Furthermore, the bilayer film sandwiched by electrodes in a dry condition shows stable rectification character, and the barrier voltage corresponds to the redox potential difference between the two layers. A new class of rhodamine luminophores, 3',3'-bis(oxospiroisobenzofuran)-3,7-bis(dialkylamino)benzopyrano-xanthene derivatives (ABPX), have been successfully developed. Inelastic tunneling spectroscopy (IETS) measurement using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) with a commercially available STM set up is presented. The STM-IETS spectrum measured on an isolated trans-2-butene molecule on the Pd(110) shows a clear vibrational feature in d2I/dV2 at the bias voltage of 360 mV and -363 mV, which corresponds to the nu(C-H) mode (d2I/dV2 approximately 10 nA/V2). In addition, we have obtained an image by mapping the vibrational feature of nu(C-H) in d2I/dV2. The image is obtained by scanning the tip on the surface with the feedback loop activated while the modulation voltage is superimposed on the sample voltage. With the method that is readily performable with conventional software, we have clearly differentiated the molecules of trans-2-butene and butadiene through the mapping of the vibrational feature, demonstrating its capability of chemical identification in atomic scale. 相似文献

Inelastically tunneled electrons from a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) were used to induce vibrationally mediated motion of a single cis-2-butene molecule among four equivalent orientations on Pd(110) at 4.8 K. The action spectrum obtained from the motion clearly detects more vibrational modes than inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy with a STM. We demonstrate the usefulness of the action spectroscopy as a novel single molecule vibrational spectroscopic method. We also discuss its selection rules in terms of resonance tunneling. 相似文献

We report inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy (IETS) of a C8 alkanethiol self-assembled monolayer using a scanning tunneling microscope (STM). High-resolution STM IETS spectra show clear features of the C-H bending and C-C stretching modes in addition to the C-H stretching mode, which enables a precise comparison with previously reported vibrational spectroscopy, especially electron energy loss spectroscopy data.
