Removal of nonperiodic structures from a periodic image by means of spatial filtering

Simple spatial amplitude filters are used for restoration of periodic images. With modified filters the restoration of images and detection on faults can be done simultaneously.

Zusammenfassung In verschiedenen biologischen Matrices (Milchpulver, Vollblut) wurde der Wismutgehalt nach einem Druckaufschluß mit HNO₃ mittels flammenloser AAS mit hoher Empfindlichkeit und Zuverlässigkeit bestimmt. Die Nachweisgrenze dieses Verfahrens kann mit 2,5×10^–9 g angegeben werden. Weiterhin wurde für diese Bestimmung eine einfache Verfahrensweise ausgearbeitet, um störende Reaktionsprodukte des Aufschlußmittels unschädlich zu machen.

AAS trace analysis of bismuth in organic matrix employing a hydride system

Summary The bismuth content of various HNO₃ pressure-digested biological matrices (milk powder, blood) was determined with a high degree of accuracy and reliability by flameless AAS. The detection limit of this method was determined to be 2.4×10^–9 g. In addition, a simple procedure was developed to eliminate the disturbing influence of digestion medium reaction products.

     

Radiative lifetimes of Fe I levels of astrophysical interest

Time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence has been used to measure the lifetimes of 43 selected Fe I levels with energies between 25900 and 52000 cm^?1. A beam of iron atoms from a hollow cathode discharge was excited with a tunable dye laser pulse and the fluorescence was measured by means of a fast transient digitizer (1 GHz). The full decay curve could be used for a determination of the lifetimes by including the separately measured response function of the system in the evaluation procedure. A comparison with literature data is given.     

Cubical Version of Combinatorial Differential Forms

The theory of combinatorial differential forms is usually presented in simplicial terms. We present here a cubical version; it depends on the possibility of forming affine combinations of mutual neighbour points in a manifold, in the context of synthetic differential geometry.     

Steric and Electronic Effects in Gold N-Heterocyclic Carbene Complexes Revealed by Computational Analysis

A computational analysis of a series of cationic and neutral gold imidazolylidene and benzimidizolylidene complexes is reported. The Bond Dissociation Energies of the various ligands in the complexes calculated at the PBE0-D3/def2-TZVP level of theory increase with increasing ligand volume, except for those of complexes containing t-butyl-substituted ligands, which are anomalously low particularly for the benzimidazolylidene species. Atoms in Molecules studies show the presence of a variety of weak intramolecular interactions, characterised by the presence of bond critical points with a range of different properties. Energy Decomposition Analysis and calculation of Electrostatic Surface Potentials indicate that some interactions are weakly attractive dispersion-type interactions, while others are repulsive. The octanol/water partition coefficients (log P values) were calculated as a measure of the lipophilicities of the complexes and were found to increase with increasing volume.
