The principle of fixed partner as experimental tool in molecular biology research
The high selectivity obtained in systems where one of the interacting partners is present in a fixed state, as solid phase, is demonstrated for three cases: isolation of individual enzymes from a mixture of closely related; specific removal of one kind oft-RNA by a corresponding synthetic template; extraction of the specific antibody by a genetically defined (allotypical) immunoglobulin.

Within an operator-product expansion, the problem of the quark-mass dependence of the heavy-flavor contribution to the structure function F 2 in the current-fragmentation region is considered at high values of the momentum transfer squared Q 2. A linear combination of the structure functions F 2 c and F 2 is found that possesses a specific scaling property for Q 2 → ∞ at small fixed values of the Bjorken variable x. A lower bound on the ratio F 2 c /F 2 is calculated and is compared with data obtained at the HERA collider. 相似文献

In the framework of the Randall-Sundrum-like scenario with the small curvature κ (RSSC model), p ⊥-distributions for the dielectron production at the LHC are calculated. For the summary statistics taken at 7 TeV (L = 5 fb?1) and 8 TeV (L = 20 fb?1), the exclusion limit on the 5-dimensional gravity scale M 5 is found to be 6.35 TeV at 95% C.L. For √s = 13 TeV and integrated luminosity 30 fb?1, the LHC search limit is estimated to be 8.95 TeV. These limits on M 5 are independent of κ, provided the relation κ ? M 5 is satisfied. 相似文献

Proteasomes are large, multisubunit proteolytic complexes presenting multiple targets for therapeutic intervention. The 26S proteasome consists of a 20S proteolytic core and one or two 19S regulatory particles. The 20S core contains three types of active sites. Many structurally diverse inhibitors of these active sites, both natural product and synthetic, have been discovered in the last two decades. One, bortezomib, is used clinically for treatment of multiple myeloma, mantle cell lymphoma, and acute allograft rejection. Five more recently developed proteasome inhibitors are in trials for treatment of myeloma and other cancers. Proteasome inhibitors also have activity in animal models of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, reperfusion injury, promote bone and hair growth, and can potentially be used as anti-infectives. In addition, inhibitors of ATPases and deubiquitinases of 19S regulatory particles have been discovered in the last decade. 相似文献

Syringolins, a class of natural products, potently and selectively inhibit the proteasome and show promising antitumour activity. To gain insight in the mode of action of syringolins, the ureido structural element present in syringolins is incorporated in oligopeptide vinyl sulfones and peptide epoxyketones yielding a focused library of potent new proteasome inhibitors. The distance of the ureido linkage with respect to the electrophilic trap strongly influences subunit selectivity within the proteasome. Compounds 13 and 15 are β5 selective and their potency exceeds that of syringolin A. In contrast, 5 may well be the most potent β1 selective compound active in living cells reported to date. 相似文献

The polarization correlation parameter C nn in the elastic proton-proton scattering was for the first time measured with a high statistical accuracy at 1 GeV using an unpolarized proton beam incident on an unpolarized proton target. Both outgoing protons from the reaction were detected in coincidence by means of a two-arm focusing magnetic spectrometer installed at nonsymmetric angles corresponding to the center-of-mass scattering angle Θcm = 62.25°. The correlation parameter C nn , as well as polarizations P 1 and P 2 of the secondary protons, were measured by means of multiwire proportional chamber polarimeters placed at the focal planes of each spectrometer arm. The obtained data are compared with the predictions of the phase-shift analysis. The connection with the experiment on C nn and polarization measurements in the (p, 2p) reaction on 4He and other light nuclei in similar kinematics is discussed 相似文献

An experiment on deep inelastic muon nucleon scattering in order to study the x-dependence of nucleon structure functions and their ratios over a range ofQ
2=50–200 GeV2 andx= =0·4–2·0 is proposed. Such measurements performed on a number of nuclei with atomic weights from 2 to 207 provide new information for detailed studies of the EMC effect and test models explaining thex-behaviour of the nucleon structure functions and their ratios. The measurements are decisive for the proof that a quark-parton model of the nucleus describes adequately nuclear structure probed at high energies. The upgraded high luminosity BCDMS spectrometer with improved resolution in transferred energy can be used for the measurements.Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. 相似文献

The secondary-proton polarization and differential cross sections for the (p, p') inelastic reaction on 28Si and 56Fe nuclei at the initial proton energy of 1 GeV were measured over a wide range of the scattered-proton momenta at a laboratory angle of Θ = 21?. Scattered protons were detected by means of a magnetic spectrometer equipped with a polarimeter based on multiwire proportional chambers and a carbon analyzer. A structure in the polarization and cross section data, which is probably related to quasielastic scattering off nucleon correlations in the 28Si and 56Fe nuclei, was observed as earlier in the analogous data for 12C and 40Ca nuclei. Momentum intervals within which cross-section ratios for nuclei did not depend on the scattered-proton momentum were found. 相似文献
