In this paper we report the use of the optical properties of porous silicon photonic crystals, combined with the chemical versatility of acetylene-terminated SAMs, to demonstrate the applicability of "click" chemistry to mesoporous materials. Cu(I)-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition reactions were employed to modify the internal pore surfaces through a two-step hydrosilylation/cycloaddition procedure. A positive outcome of this catalytic process, here performed in a spatially confined environment, was only observed in the presence of a ligand-stabilized Cu(I) species. Detailed characterization using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and optical reflectivity measurements demonstrated that the surface acetylenes had reacted in moderate to high yield to afford surfaces exposing chemical functionalities of interest. The porous silicon photonic crystals modified by the two-step strategy, and exposing oligoether moieties, displayed improved resistance toward the nonspecific adsorption of proteins as determined with fluorescently labeled bovine serum albumin. These results demonstrate that "click" immobilization offers a versatile, experimentally simple, and modular approach to produce functionalized porous silicon surfaces for applications as diverse as porous silicon-based sensing devices and implantable biomaterials.  相似文献

Ellipsometric porosimetry (EP) is a handy technique to characterize the porosity and pore size distribution of porous thin films with pore diameters in the range from below 1 nm up to 50 nm and for the characterization of porous low-k films especially. Atomic layer deposition (ALD) can be used to functionalize porous films and membranes, e.g., for the development of filtration and sensor devices and catalytic surfaces. In this work we report on the implementation of the EP technique onto an ALD reactor. This combination allowed us to employ EP for monitoring the modification of a porous thin film through ALD without removing the sample from the deposition setup. The potential of in situ EP for providing information about the effect of ALD coating on the accessible porosity, the pore radius distribution, the thickness, and mechanical properties of a porous film is demonstrated in the ALD of TiO(2) in a mesoporous silica film.  相似文献

Hydrosilylation of alkenes with epoxide-terminated tri(ethylene oxide) moieties on Si-H surfaces yields homogeneous monolayers for the efficient coupling of biomolecules. The wetting properties of the epoxide-functionalized surface allow for the spotting of solutions of biomolecules, making the surface amenable to microarraying. Immobilization of thiolated DNA was achieved in a single step to fabricate biorecognition interfaces showing the hybridization of complementary DNA at low concentrations and negligible binding of noncomplementary DNA.  相似文献

The preparation, spectroscopic characterisation and crystal structures of [FcP(mu-Se)Se]2, [FcP(mu-Se2)Se]2 and [PhP(mu-Se2)Se]2 are reported. Crystallographic data reveal planar four-membered PSePSe and skewed six-membered P2Se4 rings, respectively, in all cases with trans arrangement of organic substituents and exo selenium atoms. Whilst stable at room temperature in solid state, NMR data suggest the six-membered rings of both the ferrocenyl and phenyl compounds decompose in the solution with loss of red selenium, forming PSe2PSe five-membered rings.  相似文献

In multibody systems, two alternative approaches exist to compute contact forces between bodies. The unilateral constraint contact and the unilateral regularized contact do not take into account the influence of the deformation due to other contacts on a body using rigid body dynamics. In this paper, a third alternative, i.e. the Maxwell-Contact, is derived coupling the deformations of different contacts on one body quasi-statically. An academic example validates the fundamental properties of the contact model and the application in a simulation of a pushbelt CVT shows improved results. (© 2012 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The evolution of the distribution of nanodefects formed on the surface of polished copper foils under tensile stresses is investigated. It is found that nanodefects form four ensembles. The energies of formation and the mean sizes of nanodefects in two consecutive ensembles differ, respectively, by a factor of three. When the concentration of nanodefects in a particular ensemble reaches a thermodynamically optimum value (≈5%), some of these nanodefects annihilate and the other nanodefects transform to nanodefects of the following ensemble. The load applied to the sample continuously generates nanodefects comprising the first ensemble, which leads to periodic oscillations of the nanodefect concentration in all four ensembles.  相似文献

Investigations of dielectric relaxation and thermal properties of mixtures composed of liquid crystalline side‐chain polysiloxane and low molecular mass azo‐dye have been carried out. The dyes have been chosen to solublize well in the polymer matrix at concentrations up to 0.08 mol fraction. The dielectric relaxation experiments have shown the presence of separate processes attributed to reorientational motions of mesogenic side groups and dye molecules. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
