A laser photoionization method for the study of the CdS evaporation kinetics

The evaporation rates and saturation vapor pressures of cadmium sulfide and pure metallic cadmium are measured in the temperature ranges 585–950 K and 350–535 K, respectively, using laser resonance multistep photoionization. It is shown that CdS thermally dissociates into Cd atoms and S₂ molecules. The study is carried out in the framework of a scheme proposed earlier for photoionization of cadmium atoms. The measured minimum vapor pressure of pure cadmium is 10^?11 Torr.     

Synthesis and conversions of metallocycles. 8.13C NMR spectra of aluminocyclopentanes

Using¹³C NMR spectroscopy we have studied disubstituted and trisubstituted aluminocyclopentanes, determined the spectral parameters, and made stereochemical assignments of the isomers. 13C NMR spectra of biologically active compounds XI. Diastereomeric effects in C-glycosides

The¹³C NMR spectra of epimeric C-D-glucopyranosides with alkyl, aryl, and alkynyl substituents have been studied. The diastereomeric effects of the chemical shifts have been determined and assignments have been made to the 1-and 1- stereochemical series on the basis of HH COSY and CH HET CORR two-dimensional NMR spectra. The diastereomeric effects observed for the C-3 and C-5 carbon atoms are proposed as characteristic parameters for establishing the stereochemistry at the C-1 carbon atom.Institute of Chemistry, Bashir Scientific Center, Urals Branch, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Ufa. Synthesis and transformations of metallacycles. 26. Cp2ZrCl2-Catalyzed cycloalumination of substituted allenes with Et3Al

Catalytic cycloalumination of 1-alkyl(phenyl)allenes with triethylaluminum (5 mol.% of Cp₂ZrCl₂ as the catalyst, 20 °C, 4 h, hexane) afforded methylene- and alkyl(benzyl)idene-substituted alumacyclopentanes.     

Synthesis of alkenylquinolines and cyclization of (1-methyl-2-butenyl)quinaldines in polyphosphoric acid

The reaction of 2- and 4-alkenylanilines with paraldehyde gave 6- and 8-alkenylquinaldines. Heating 8-(1-methyl-2-butenyl)quinaldines in polyphosphoric acid leads to the formation of tricyclic compounds with isomerization of the alkenyl group.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 10, pp. 1364–1366, October, 1990.     

Intensity Effects in Scattering of Electromagnetic Waves by Electrons Moving in External Magnetic Field

In this paper we consider the emission processes of a relativistic electron moving in the field of a plane electromagnetic wave and in a homogeneous magnetic field. A detailed analysis of the most important characteristics of the radiation properties for arbitrary values of the magnetic field, compared with \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ [H_0 = \frac{{m^2 c^3}}{{e\hbar}}]$\end{document} = 4.41.10¹³ gauss, is presented.     

Vacuum polarization by a Coulomb center and a strong magnetic field. Uehling's correction

The problem of vacuum polarization by the Coulomb field of the nucleus and a constant homogeneous magnetic field is examined by the proper time method. For this the magnetic field is exactly taken into account, and the Coulomb field is considered by perturbation theory. In the case of a magnetic field equal to zero, we calculate the change of the Coulomb potential which results from vacuum polarization. Lipids of the fruit of Diospyros kaki

The composition and amounts of the various groups of liposoluble compounds in the rind and flesh of persimmon fruit of the varieties Hachiya and Hyakume have been established by a combination of chromatographic and chemical methods. The identity of the qualitative composition of the lipids of the flesh and rind of the fruit and quantitative differences in the amounts of individual groups have been found. A total of 24 groups of compounds were identified, the main ones of which were monogalactosyldiglycerides, carotenoids, diacylglycerols, ceramide oligosides, digalactosyldiglycerides, phosphatidylglycerols; phosphatidylcholines, and free and glycosylated sterols. In the fatty acid composition of the lipids unsaturated fatty acids — linolenic, oleic, linoleic, and palmitoleic — predominated (>70%).     

13C NMR spectra of biologically active compounds. II. 11-Deoxy-16- and 17-aryloxyprostaglandins

The¹³C NMR spectra of the initial -aryloxy chains and the final 16-and 17-aryloxyprostaglandins of the 11-deoxy series have been investigated, and stereochemical assignments have been made for the diastereomeric pairs. A weakening of the diastereotopic effects in the spectra of the 15- and 16-methyl-substituted 16- and 17-phenoxypropstaglandins to 0.1 ppm has been shown.Institute of Chemistry, Bashkir Branch, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Ufa.
