Synthesis and characterization of new acyclic nucleosides analogues derived from 2-phenyl quinoline candidates

Reaction of 4-substituted quinoline hydrazide with some aldohexoses and aldopentoses gave a series of new N-β-glycosides. The following cyclization of N-β-glycosides with acetic anhydride led to O-acetyl-[5-(2-phenylquinolin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]-D-glycosides. Structure of the newly synthesized products was elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods.     

An Lp-Lq-Version of Morgan’s Theorem for the Dunkl-Bessel Transform

Synthesis of some novel S-alkylated and S-glycosylated hydantoin derivatives containing pyrene moiety

3-Aryl-5-[(Z)-pyrenylmethylene]-2-alkylthiohydantoins and 3-Aryl-5-[(Z)-pyrenylmethylene]-2-(D-glycosyl)-2-thiohydantoins functionalized with different aromatic and glycoside substituents have been synthesized by the reaction of (Z)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-[(pyren-8-yl)methylene]-2-thiohydantoin with alkyl halides, cyclic and acyclic nucleosides via various routes with moderate to good yields and characterized by ¹H, ¹³C NMR and mass spectra and elemental analysis

Utility of 1‐Chloro‐3,4‐dihydronaphthalene‐2‐carboxaldehyde in the Synthesis of Novel Heterocycles with Pharmaceutical Interest

Ethyl α‐cyano‐β‐(1‐chloro‐3,4‐dihydronaphthalene‐2‐yl) acrylate (2) was prepared by the Knoevenagel condensation of 1 with ethyl cyanoacetate. Compound 2 was used as the key intermediate to prepare Schiff bases (3a, b), benzo[c]acridine (4), naphthyl thiopyrimidine (5), and pyrazolo[2,3‐a]‐benzo[h]quinazoline (6) derivatives through its reaction with hydrazines, p‐ansidine, thiourea, and 3,5‐diamino‐4‐phenylazopyrazole, respectively. Base‐catalyzed cyclocondensation of 1 with hippuric acid gives oxazolone derivative (7). Reaction of compound 7 with aniline gave imidazolone derivative (9). Treatment of compound 1 with different types of diaminopyrazoles gave 6,7‐dihydro‐pyrazolo[2,3‐a]‐benzo[h]quinazoline (10–13) derivatives. The multicomponent reaction of compound 1 with pyrazolone and malononitrile in the presence of ammonium acetate furnished pyrazolo[3,4‐b]‐benzo[h]quinoline (14) while in the presence of piperidine afforded benzo[h]chromeno[2,3‐c]pyrazole derivative 15.     

Direct titration of mercury (i) with potassium permanganate

Mercurous solutions can bc successfully titrated with potassium permanganate in presence of 0.5–1N H₂SO₄ and 1–1.5% NaF at 35–50°C, Sharp end-points arc obtained when the maximum concentration of monovalent mercury after mixing with the other reagents is 0.005N. At higher concentrations the reaction is sluggish and, the end-points arc not sharp.     

Synergic extraction of trivalent gadolinium,europium and americium radionuclides by 15-crown-5 or 18-crown-6 mixed with thenoyltrifluoroacetone from perchlorate medium

Synergic extraction of trivalent Eu, Gd and Am from aqueous perchlorate medium has been studied using mixtures of thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) and 15-crown-5 or 18-crown-6 (CE) in chloroform at (25±1) °C. Slope analysis of the extraction results indicated a general formula of M(TTA)₃·(CE)₂ for the extracted species. The stability order took the sequence Eu(TTA)₃·(CE)₂>Am(TTA)₃)·(CE)_2>>Gd(TTA)₃·(CE)₂ with 15C5 and Am(TTA)₃·(CE)₂>Eu(TTA)₃·(CE)₂>Gd(TTA)₃·(CE)₂ with 18C6. The synergic factors, extracton constants and formation constants of the extracted species were determined and discussed in terms of the correspondence between cavity size of the crown ethers and ionic crystal radii.     

Simplified equations and solutions for the free vibration of an orthotropic oval cylindrical shell with variable thickness

Based on the framework of the Flügge's shell theory, the transfer matrix approach and the Romberg integration method, this paper presents the vibration behavior of an isotropic and orthotropic oval cylindrical shell with parabolically varying thickness along its circumference. The governing equations of motion of the shell, which have variable coefficients are formulated and solved. The analysis is formulated to overcome the mathematical difficulties related to mode coupling, which comes from variable curvature and thickness of shell. The vibration equations of the shell are reduced to eight first‐order differential equations in the circumferential coordinate and by using the transfer matrix of the shell, these equations can be written in a matrix differential equation. The proposed model is adopted to get the vibration frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes for the symmetrical and antisymmetrical modes of vibration. The sensitivity of the frequency parameters and the bending deformations to the shell geometry, ovality parameter, thickness ratio, and orthotropic parameters corresponding to different type modes of vibration is investigated. Approximation of the finite dimensional distributions of multiple fractional integrals

We construct a family Inεt(f) of continuous stochastic processes that converges in the sense of finite dimensional distributions to a multiple Wiener-Itô integral with respect to the fractional Brownian motion. We assume that and we prove our approximation result for the integrands f in a rather general class.
