We report, for the first time to our knowledge, the presence of concentration-induced nonuniform power in tunable erbium-doped fiber lasers. A theoretical model is proposed with pair-induced quenching taken into account. We obtain good agreement between numerical and experimental results of a high-concentration erbium-doped fiber ring laser with a large tuning range of over 100 nm. These findings are useful for the design of lasers with doped fibers.  相似文献

In eukaryotic cells, the membraneless organelles (MLOs) formed via liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) are found to interact intimately with membranous organelles (MOs). One major mode is the clustering of MOs by MLOs, such as the formation of clusters of synaptic vesicles at nerve terminals mediated by the synapsin-rich MLOs. Aqueous droplets, including complex coacervates and aqueous two-phase systems, have been plausible MLO-mimics to emulate or elucidate biological processes. However, neither of them can cluster lipid vesicles (LVs) like MLOs. In this work, we develop a synthetic droplet assembled from a combination of two different interactions underlying the formation of these two droplets, namely, associative and segregative interactions, which we call segregative-associative (SA) droplets. The SA droplets cluster and disperse LVs recapitulating the key functional features of synapsin condensates, which can be attributed to the weak electrostatic interaction environment provided by SA droplets. This work suggests LLPS with combined segregative and associative interactions as a possible route for synaptic clustering of lipid vesicles and highlights SA droplets as plausible MLO-mimics and models for studying and mimicking related cellular dynamics.  相似文献

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most dominant primary liver cancer, which can be caused by chronic hepatitis virus infections and other environmental factors. Resection, liver transplantation, and local ablation are only a few of the highly effective and curative procedures presently accessible. However, other complementary treatments can reduce cancer treatment side effects. In this present work, we evaluated the activity of Moroccan scorpion venom Buthus occitanus and its fractions obtained by chromatography gel filtration against HCC cells using a 3D cell culture model. The venom was fractionated by gel filtration chromatography, each fraction and the crude venom was tested on normal hepatocytes (Fa2N-4 cells). Additionally, the fractions and the crude venom were tested on MCTSs (multicellular tumor spheroids), and this latter was generated by cultivate Huh7.5 cancer cell line with WI38 cells, LX2 cells, and human endothelial cells (HUVEC). Our results indicate that Buthus occitanus venom toxin has no cytotoxic effects on normal hepatocytes. Moreover, it is reported that F3 fraction could significantly inhibit the MCTS cells. Other Protein Separation Techniques (High-performance liquid chromatography) are needed in order to identify the most active molecule.  相似文献

Diruthenium tetracarboxylates monocations are utilized as building blocks for cubic 3-D network structured molecule-based magnets. [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)] [M = Cr (1a), Fe (2), Co (3)] were prepared in aqueous solution. Powder X-ray diffraction indicates that they have body-centered cubic structures (space group = Imm, a = 13.34, 13.30, and 13.10 A for 1a, 2, and 3, respectively), which was confirmed for 1a by Reitveld analysis of the synchrotron powder data [a = 13.3756(5) A]. [Ru(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)].xMeCN [M = Cr, x = 1.8 (1b); M = Mn, x = 3.3 (4)] were prepared from acetonitrile. The magnetic ordering of 1a (33 K), 1b (34.5 K), 2 (2.1 K), and 4 (9.6 K) was determined from the temperature dependencies of the in-phase (chi') alternating current (AC) susceptibility. The field dependence of the magnetization, M(H), at 2 K for 1a showed an unusual constricted hysteresis loop with a coercive field, H(cr), of 470 Oe while the M(H) data for 1b, 2, and 4 showed a normal hysteresis loop with a coercive field of 1670, 10, and 990 Oe, respectively. The (57)Fe M?ssbauer spectrum of 2 is consistent with the presence of low spin Fe(III) (delta = -0.05 mm/s; DeltaE = 0.33 mm/s) at room temperature, and the onset of 3-D magnetic ordering at lower temperature (<2 K). The effects of M(III) in [M(III)(CN)(6)](3-), and the large zero-field splitting (D) of diruthenium tetracarboxylates are discussed. The increasing critical temperatures T(c), with increasing S could not be accounted for by mean field models without significantly different J values for 1a, 4, and 2. By fitting the T(c) data with mean field models [H = -2JS(Ru).(S(M) - micro(B)(g(Ru)S(Ru) + g(M)S(M))H], J/k(B) are 4.46, 1.90, and 0.70 K for 1a, 4, and 2, respectively.  相似文献
