A diffusion driven model for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, taking into account the spatial mobility of both the HBV and the HBV DNA-containing capsids is presented. The global stability for the continuous model is discussed in terms of the basic reproduction number. The analysis is further carried out on a discretized version of the model. Since the standard finite difference (SFD) approximation could potentially lead to numerical instability, it has to be restricted or eliminated through dynamic consistency. The latter is accomplished by using a non-standard finite difference (NSFD) scheme and the global stability properties of the discretized model are studied. The results are numerically illustrated for the dynamics and stability of the various populations in addition to demonstrating the advantages of the usage of NSFD method over the SFD scheme.  相似文献

Summary The oxidation of MeCHO by chromium(VI) has been studied in HClO4 medium over a wide range of experimental conditions and has been found to obey the rate law;v=k[MeCHO][HCrO 4 ][H+]. The calculated H and-S values for the reaction are 30±2kJ mol–1 and 171±7J mol–1deg–1, respectively. The mechanism is discussed in terms of carbon-hydrogen bond cleavage.  相似文献

Several genome engineering applications of CRISPR‐Cas9, an RNA‐guided DNA endonuclease, require precision control of Cas9 activity over dosage, timing, and targeted site in an organism. While some control of Cas9 activity over dose and time have been achieved using small molecules, and spatial control using light, no singular system with control over all the three attributes exists. Furthermore, the reported small‐molecule systems lack wide dynamic range, have background activity in the absence of the small‐molecule controller, and are not biologically inert, while the optogenetic systems require prolonged exposure to high‐intensity light. We previously reported a small‐molecule‐controlled Cas9 system with some dosage and temporal control. By photocaging this Cas9 activator to render it biologically inert and photoactivatable, and employing next‐generation protein engineering approaches, we have built a system with a wide dynamic range, low background, and fast photoactivation using a low‐intensity light while rendering the small‐molecule activator biologically inert. We anticipate these precision controls will propel the development of practical applications of Cas9.  相似文献

Magnesium aluminate nanoparticles with different chromium concentration (0–12%) have been synthesized by a citrate–nitrate sol–gel route. X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the formation of single-phase cubic spinel structure excluding the presence of any secondary phase. Crystallite size of the synthesized nanoparticles was found to increase from 8.5 to 19.8 nm with the increase in Cr concentration. Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopic studies confirmed the presence of AlO6 group which led to the formation of MgAl2O4 spinel structure. Surface morphology of the sintered pellets was investigated with the help of a field emission scanning electron microscope which revealed the existence of both grain and grain boundary along with their aggregates. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and ac conductivity were studied as a function of frequency of the applied electric field for different composition and their nature of variation with frequency has been elucidated on the basis of Maxwell–Wagner interfacial model. Impedance spectroscopy technique has been used to study the effect of grain and grain boundary on the electrical properties of this spinel oxide. All the electrical parameters showed strong dependence on the nanostructural properties and were found to vary consistently with the increase of doping concentration.  相似文献

The synthesis and structural characterization of a novel oxoperoxovanadium(V) complex [VO(O(2))(PAH)(phen)] containing the ligands 2-phenylacetohydroxamic acid (PAHH) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) has been accomplished. The oxoperoxovanadium(V) complex was found to mimic both vanadate-dependent haloperoxidase (VHPO) activity as well as nuclease activity through effective interaction with DNA. The complex is the first example of a structurally characterized stable oxoperoxovanadium(V) complex with a coordinated bi-dentate hydroximate moiety (-CONHO(-)) from 2-phenylacetohydroximate (PAH). The oxoperoxovanadium(V) complex has been used as catalyst for the peroxidative bromination reaction of some unsaturated alcohols (e.g. 4-pentene-1-ol, 1-octene-3-ol and 9-decene-1-ol) in the presence of H(2)O(2) and KBr. The catalytic products have been characterized by GC-MS analysis and spectrophotometric methods. The DNA binding of this complex has been established with CT DNA whereas the DNA cleavage was demonstrated with plasmid DNA. The interactions of the complex with DNA have been monitored by electronic absorption and fluorescence emission spectroscopy. Viscometric measurements suggest that the compound is a DNA intercalator. The nuclease activity of this complex was confirmed by gel electrophoresis studies.  相似文献

CdSe/CdS dot/rods nanocrystals show interesting physical properties related to the band-alignment at the hetero-interface, which controls the band-edge electron delocalization over the rods. Here the differential transmission spectra of CdSe/CdS nanorod samples with different core sizes have been measured using excitation resonant to the core transition. The photo bleaching ratio between dot and rod transitions increases with the dot size, indicating a trend towards electron localization. This trend has been further quantified by performing effective mass calculations in which the conduction band misalignment was varied in order to reproduce the observed bleaching feature ratio. The best agreement was found for negligible conduction band misalignment for small dots of around 2.3 nm in diameter, and about -0.1 eV misalignment was estimated for the larger dots, above 3.5 nm in diameter. This shows that the band misalignment might be dependent on the geometry of the system, and we argue that this might be related to different strain developed at the hetero-interface.  相似文献
