An expression for potential energy as a function of torsion angle about a saturated CC bond is developed analytically. This equation is used in the development of two methods for the conformational analysis of paraffins-one based on consideration only of exactly staggered conformers and one giving consideration to energy at 1° intervals of torsion angle. Two methods of assigning molecular rotations to hydrocarbon conformers are considered. Various combinations of results so obtained are compared as ways to calculate rotations for paraffins.  相似文献

A procedure is described for use of an on-line digital computer to acquire and process low resolution mass spectra obtained by a fractionated evaporation technique. The procedure generates unambiguous spectra from uniform solid or liquid organic substances, and characteristic spectra from multicomponent organic solid or liquid samples. A systematic study of activation analysis with cyclotron-produced neutrons for (n, 2n), (n, p) and (n, α) reactions is presented. The limits of detection for elements of atomic number from 6 to 80 are given. The possibilities of optimization of irradiation conditions by the choice of the most suitable neutron spectrum are discussed. The potential of this fast neutron activation analysis method is compared with that of 14 MeV neutron activation analysis.  相似文献

Simultaneous DTA and dilatometric measurements were made and the derivatives of the dilatometric curves were taken for three glasses by means of a derivatograph. Glass blocks were used as test pieces with a boring for the thermoelement. A maximum was observed in the rate of length change, which can be explained by overheating phenomena. A comparison with DTA curves of glass powders published by Yamamoto showed that the break points in the DTA curves of glass blocks do not coincide with the Tg points, but under identical conditions they can serve for the rapid characterization of the transformation range.  相似文献

A study was made of certain transformations of the bicyclic compounds of the fur an series synthesized from 3,4-bis(chloromethyl)furan, N-butyl-4H, 6H-furo [3,4-c]pyrrole and 4H,6H-thieno[3,4-c]furan. Summary A new colour reaction for the detection of cerram(IV) which can be carried out both in a test tube and on a spot plate has been described. The test solution is treated with methylene blue in nitric acid solution (11) to form a rose-red colour. This simple procedure has an advantage over the existing tests in that it is applicable in the presence of oxidising agents like chromium(VI), vanadium(V), nitrate, perchlorate and of coloured ions like copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), chromium(III), iron(III), vanadium(IV), uranium(VI).
Zusammenfassung Eine neue, sowohl in der Eprouvette wie auf der Tüpfelplatte ausführbare Farbreaktion zum Nachweis von Cer(IV) wurde angegeben. Die Probelösung wird mit salpetersaurer Methylenblaulösung behandelt und gibt eine rosarote Färbung. Die Reaktion hat gegenüber bekannten Tests den Vorteil, in Gegenwart von Oxydationsmitteln wie Cr(VI), V(V), NO3 , ClO4 bzw. in Anwesenheit gefärbter Ionen wie Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cr(III), Fe(III), V(IV) oder U(VI) anwendbar zu sein.

This work reports the experimental results of the uniaxial pressure dependence at various temperatures of the spin-lattice relaxation time, T1, in paradichlorobenzene single crystals.The directionality of the pressure dependence, together the temperature dependence ot T1 near room temperature, give us some information about the dependence of the molecular torsional frequencies and lifetimes of the oscillations ground levels with the intermolecular crystalline potential.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung An Hand einer neueren erfolgversprechenden Theorie der Glaselektrode, der Phasengrenzpotentialtheorie, wird gezeigt, in welchem Maße gewisse Zusätze im Elektrodenglas die Eigenschaften desselben grundlegend verändern. Zusätze an dreiwertigen Metalloxiden, insbesondere Al2O3 und B2O3, ziehen ein spezifisches Ansprechvermögen auch auf andere einwertige Ionen nach sich (Beckman Cationic Electrode). Durch teilweisen Ersatz der Na2O-Komponenten des Elektrodenglases durch Li2O, wird ein extrem spezifisches Ansprechvermögen auf Na+-Ionen hervorgerufen (Beckman Sodium Electrode). Es werden Anwendungsbeispiele, Vorzüge und Grenzen dieser neuen Elektrodensorten erläutert.
Summary A recent promising theory of the glass electrode, the theory of interface potential, is discussed and it is shown how far certain additives in the electrode glass can change its properties fundamentally. Addition of trivalent metal oxides (especially Al2O3 and B2O3) results in a specific response to other univalent ions, too (Beckman Cationic Electrode). Partial substitution of the Na2O components of the glass by Li2O causes an extremely specific response to Na+ ions (Beckman Sodium Electrode). Applications, advantages and limitations of these new dydes of electrodes are discussed.

The equilibrium of the heterogeneous reaction between dissolved sodium sulfide and biologically produced sulfur particles has been studied. Biologically produced sulfur was obtained from a bioreactor of a hydrogen sulfide removal process in which the dominating organism is Thiobacillus sp. W5. Detailed knowledge of this reaction is essential to understand its effect on the process. The results were compared with the equilibrium of the reaction of sulfide with ‘inorganic’ elemental sulfur. The equilibrium between dissolved sodium sulfide and biologically produced sulfur particles can be described by an equilibrium constant, Kx, which consists of a weighted sum of constants for polysulfide ions of different chain length, rather than a true single equilibrium constant. For biologically produced sulfur pKx = 9.10 ± 0.08 (21 °C) and 9.17 ± 0.09 (35 °C) with an average polysulfide chain length x = 4.91 ± 0.32 (21 °C) and 4.59 ± 0.31 (35 °C). The pKx value for biologically produced sulfur is significantly higher than for reaction of dissolved sodium sulfide with inorganic sulfur (pKx = 8.82; 21 °C). This difference is probably caused by the negatively charged polymeric organic layer, which is present on biologically produced sulfur but absent with “inorganic” sulfur. Specific binding of polysulfide ions to the organic layer results in a higher polysulfide concentration at the reaction site compared to the bulk concentration. This results in an apparent decrease of the measured equilibrium constant, Kx.  相似文献
