Elimination of Interferents Influence in Simultaneous Determination of Organic Gases Using PLS with FTIR Spectroscopy∗

Abstract

The most serious problem in multivariate calibration analysis is that the prediction samples may contain the interferents which are not modeled in the calibration step. Then how to detect the interferents and eliminate their influence is significantly important in order to obtain the correct compositional analysis results. The so-called residual spectra library search is supplied and an iterative loop regression algorithm to successfully correct the spectrum containing two interferents is developed in this paper. Three groups of which each sample contains no, one or two interferents are supplied to amplify the above method. The mean relative standard deviation (RSD) for the three groups are 0.163, 0.375, 0.355%, respectively. There are no comparable difference among these RSDs, which proves the validation of the method provided in this paper. The results specify that PLS with FTIR spectroscopy is a powerful tool to resolve both the multicomponent simultaneous determination and the identification of interferents when combined with additional diagnostic and corrected procedure.

     

A new type of chemically bonded phase for reversed-phase HPLC.

A new type of ether-bonded packing for reversed-phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) was synthesized by reacting 1-octanol with beta-(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl)ethyltrimethoxysilane, followed by coupling the product onto porous silica. The prepared packing was characterized by elemental analysis, solid-state 13C NMR, and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Chromatographic evaluations were performed by using a mixture of organic compounds as the analyte and methanol-water as binary mobile phase. The influence of the composition of organic modifier on the retention behavior of basic compounds was studied. The hydrolytic stability of the packing between pH 2.5-7.5 was also investigated. The results showed that the new stationary phase has excellent chromatographic properties and good hydrolytic stability.

A continuous process for the synthesis of homopiperazine catalyzed by Cu-based catalysts

Summary The cyclization of N-β-hydroxyethyl-1,3-propanediamine to homopiperazine proceeded effectively over a Cu-Cr-Ba-Al₂O₃ catalyst in a fixed-bed reactor. The addition of Ba to the Cu-based catalyst improved the dispersion of copper and prevented it from sintering.     

Bi-Difference Sets, Order Relation, and Monoids

Bi-difference sets generalize pseudo-difference sets and D-sets. Bi-difference sets automatically have an order relation if they are weaked slightly. As an application of the partially order relation, we present a characteristic of ideals in the weaked bi-difference sets. If a certain condition is satisfied then a bi-difference set becomes the union of monoids.

本文证明了拓扑向量空间E是序列型空间的一个特征为：（1）E的每个序列开集都是开集；（2）取值于E中的任意无穷矩阵（xij）i,j,若对每个j均有limxij=xj，并且limxj=x,则一定存在严格递增序列（ik）和（jk）使得limxikjk=x.作为应用证明了序列型A-空间必是k-空间．     

Bifurcation analysis of amathematical model for the growth of solid tumors in the presence of external inhibitors

We study bifurcations from radial solution of a free boundary problem modeling the dormant state of nonnecrotic solid tumors in the presence of external inhibitors. This problem consists in three linear elliptic equations with two Dirichlet and one Neumann boundary conditions and a fourth boundary condition coupling surface tension effects on free boundary. In this paper, surface tension coefficient γ plays the role of bifurcation parameter. We prove that in certain situations there exists a positive null point sequence for γ where bifurcation occurs from radial solution, while in the other situations, either bifurcation occurs at only finite many points of γ or even it does not occur for any γ > 0. Ideals and Filters in Pseudo-Effect Algebras

In this paper, we show that the filters and local filters are equivalent in pseudo-effect algebras. Ideals and local ideals and generalized ideals are equivalent in the pseudo-effect algebras, too.
