In this paper we analyze some questions concerning the contingent epiderivative. When the ordering cone is not necessarily pointed we introduce the notion of family of contingent epiderivatives. We also investigate the relationship between the contingent derivative and the generalized epiderivative. Furthermore, we give existence theorems with respect to Daniell cones. When a dynamical system is investigated from a time series, one of the most challenging problems is to obtain a model that reproduces the underlying dynamics. Many papers have been devoted to this problem but very few have considered the influence of symmetries in the original system and the choice of the observable. Indeed, it is well known that there are usually some variables that provide a better representation of the underlying dynamics and, consequently, a global model can be obtained with less difficulties starting from such variables. This is connected to the problem of observing the dynamical system from a single time series. The roots of the nonequivalence between the dynamical variables will be investigated in a more systematic way using previously defined observability indices. It turns out that there are two important ingredients which are the complexity of the coupling between the dynamical variables and the symmetry properties of the original system. As will be mentioned, symmetries and the choice of observables also has important consequences in other problems such as synchronization of nonlinear oscillators. When dealing with risk models the typical assumption of independence among claim size distributions is not always satisfied. Here we consider the case when the claim sizes are exchangeable and study the implications when constructing aggregated claims through compound Poisson‐type processes. In particular, exchangeability is achieved through conditional independence, using parametric and nonparametric measures for the conditioning distribution. Bayes' theorem is employed to ensure an arbitrary but fixed marginal distribution for the claim sizes. We investigate how to adapt the Q-Arnoldi method for the case of symmetric quadratic eigenvalue problems, that is, we are interested in computing a few eigenpairs \((\lambda ,x)\) of \((\lambda ^2M+\lambda C+K)x=0\) with MCK symmetric \(n\times n\) matrices. This problem has no particular structure, in the sense that eigenvalues can be complex or even defective. Still, symmetry of the matrices can be exploited to some extent. For this, we perform a symmetric linearization \(Ay=\lambda By\), where AB are symmetric \(2n\times 2n\) matrices but the pair (AB) is indefinite and hence standard Lanczos methods are not applicable. We implement a symmetric-indefinite Lanczos method and enrich it with a thick-restart technique. This method uses pseudo inner products induced by matrix B for the orthogonalization of vectors (indefinite Gram-Schmidt). The projected problem is also an indefinite matrix pair. The next step is to write a specialized, memory-efficient version that exploits the block structure of A and B, referring only to the original problem matrices MCK as in the Q-Arnoldi method. This results in what we have called the Q-Lanczos method. Furthermore, we define a stabilized variant analog of the TOAR method. Laurdan and Prodan as Polarity-Sensitive Fluorescent Membrane Probes   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
The steady-state and dynamic fluorescence spectral properties of 2-dimethylamino-6-lauroylnaphthalene (LAURDAN) and several other naphthalene derivatives are summarized to illustrate their sensitivity to the polarity of the environment. Results obtained both in solvents of different polarity and in phospholipid vesicles in two phase states are presented. The emission red shift observed in polar solvents and in the phospholipid liquid–crystalline phase is explained on the basis of dipolar relaxation of solvent molecules surrounding the fluorescent naphthalene moiety of these probes. In phospholipid environments, experimental evidence is shown that excludes the intramolecular relative reorientation of the dimethylamino and carbonyl groups in the naphthalene and the reorientation of the entire fluorescent moiety. The solvent dipolar relaxation observed for LAURDAN and PRODAN in phospholipid bilayers has been attributed to a small number of water molecules present at the membrane interface. A comparison between LAURDAN emission in phospholipid vesicles prepared in D2O and in H2O is also presented. The definition and the derivation of the generalized polarization function are also discussed.  相似文献

In cardiac tissue, the propagation of electrical excitation waves is dependent on the active properties of the cell membrane (ionic channels) and the passive electrical properties of cardiac tissue (passive membrane properties, distribution of gap junctions, and cell shapes). Initiation of cardiac arrhythmias is usually associated with heterogeneities in the active and/or passive properties of cardiac tissue. However, as a result of the effect of wave front geometry (curvature) on propagation of cardiac waves, inexcitable anatomical obstacles, like veins and arteries, may cause the formation of self-sustained vortices and uncontrolled high-frequency excitation in normal homogeneous myocardium. The existence of solution for the 2D-Keller-Segel system in the subcritical case, i.e. when the initial mass is less than 8π, is reproved. Instead of using the entropy in the free energy and free energy dissipation, which was used in the proofs (Blanchet et al. in SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 46:691–721, 2008; Electron. J. Differ. Equ.
