The spectroscopic characterization of corannulene (C20H10) is carried out by several techniques. The high purity of the material synthesized for this study was confirmed by gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS). During a high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) process, the absorption spectrum of corannulene in the ultraviolet (UV) and visible (vis) ranges is obtained. The infrared (IR) absorption spectrum is measured in CsI pellets, and the Raman scattering spectrum is recorded for pure crystal grains. In addition to room temperature measurements, absorption spectroscopy in an argon matrix at 12 K is also performed in the IR and UV/Vis ranges. The experimental spectra are compared with theoretical Raman and IR spectra and with calculated electronic transitions. All calculations are based on the density functional theory (DFT), either normal or time‐dependent (TDDFT). Our results are discussed in view of their possible application in the search for corannulene in the interstellar medium.  相似文献

We report on the development of high performance focal plane arrays for the mid-wavelength infrared spectral range from 3–5 μm (MWIR) on the basis of InAs/GaSb superlattice photodiodes. An investigation on the minority electron diffusion length with a set of six sample ranging from 190 to 1000 superlattice periods confirms that InAs/GaSb superlattice focal plane arrays achieve very high external quantum efficiency. This enabled the fabrication of a range of monospectral MWIR imagers with high spatial and excellent thermal resolution at short integration times. Furthermore, novel dual-color imagers have been developed, which offer advanced functionality due to a simultaneous, pixel-registered detection of two separate spectral channels in the MWIR.  相似文献

A new class of double-wheel molecules is manipulated on a Au(111) surface by the tip of a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) at low temperature. The double-wheel molecule consists of two subphthalocyanine wheels connected by a central rotation carbon axis. Each of the subphthalocyanine wheels has a nitrogen tag to monitor its intramolecular rolling during an STM manipulation sequence. The position of the tag can be followed by STM, allowing us to distinguish between the different lateral movements of the molecule on the surface when manipulated by the STM tip.  相似文献

Thin films of CeO(2) (both nominally pure and 10 mol% gadolinium-doped) grown via pulsed-laser deposition were studied. The electrical conductivity of the samples was measured as a function of thickness, temperature and oxygen partial pressure (pO(2)) using impedance spectroscopy. As expected, undoped CeO(2) exhibits electronic conductivity (with activation energy between 1.4 and 1.6 eV) whereas the highly doped samples are oxygen vacancy conductors (activation energy around 0.7 eV for epitaxial films). In order to investigate the influence of the nature of the substrate the thin films were grown on two different substrates, Al(2)O(3) (0001) and SiO(2) (0001), and compared. While the films grown on SiO(2) exhibit a microstructure characterized by columnar grains, the films grown on Al(2)O(3) are epitaxial. Notably, for films on both substrates the conductivity and activation energy vary with film thickness and exhibit remarkable differences when the films on different substrates are compared. In the case of the polycrystalline films (SiO(2) substrate), the space charge layer effects of the grain boundaries dominate over the substrate-film interface effect. In the case of the epitaxial films (Al(2)O(3) substrate), a small interface effect, probably due to a space charge layer or structural strain, is observed.  相似文献
