Reaction-diffusion model for combustion with fuel consumption: II. Robin boundary conditions

A model, derived in a previous paper, for the reaction betweena gaseous oxidant and a solid porous fuel is analysed furtherfor general Robin boundary conditions. Numerical solutions areobtained and the effects of varying the dimensionless parameters,particularly the Frank-Kamenetskii parameter and the Lewisnumber L, are discussed in detail and compared with resultsobtained previously when Dirichlet boundary conditions are applied.Analytic solutions are obtained for the small-time developmentand for large values of . This latter solution shows the existenceof a propagating reaction-diffusion burning wave, and has featureswhich are qualitatively different to those derived earlier.     

Enantioselective total synthesis of (+)-gigantecin: exploiting the asymmetric glycolate aldol reaction

The enantioselective synthesis of the potent, selective, cytotoxic, annonaceous acetogenin, (+)-gigantecin, has been completed. An asymmetric glycolate aldol serves to establish the stereocenters at C13,14 and at C21,22. A Carreira asymmetric acetylide addition is used to establish the C17 stereocenter.     

2型糖尿病患者血清钙镁与甲状腺激素含量变化及临床意义

为了监测 2型糖尿病人血清钙、镁和甲状腺激素含量 ,分析其临床意义及相关性 ,应用放射免疫分析法测定了 1 1 5例 2型糖尿病及 1 5 0例健康人血清甲状腺激素含量。同时用美国杜邦RXL自动生化仪测定了其血清钙、镁含量。结果表明 ,在 2型糖尿病伴有明显并发症者血镁、FT3水平明显降低 (P <0 0 5 ) ,钙镁两种元素与甲状腺激素水平无明显相关性。 2型糖尿病患者适当补镁对预防其并发症是有益的 ,测定FT3 等可作为判断 2型糖尿病严重程度和估计预后的参考指标。     

聚苯乙烯稀溶液的小角激光弹性和准弹性光散射

随着激光技术的发展,近年来出现了与散射光频加宽相应的光子相干光谱即准弹性光散射。于是,利用光散射(也称弹性光散射)法不仅能获得高聚物的各种物性参数如分子量(?),第二维利系数A_2和均方旋转半径(),而且还能得到大分子在溶液中的动态参数,即扩散系数D_0。由D_0求得流体力学半径R_H。本文只涉及小角度准弹性光散射(1°<θ<7°)对稀溶液范围的平动扩散系数的测定。与文献比较,表明方法是成功的。     

Oxidative reactivity of S-nitrosoglutathione with Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridine

Survival paths for reaction dynamics in fluctuating environments

We study rate processes in general Gaussian fluctuating environments using a path integral formalism. We derive a variational equation for the dominant survival path when the fluctuations relax exponentially or according to a stretched exponential law. In the case of a slowly varying barrier, the equilibrium regression approximation which is used by Frauenfelder and coworkers emerges. In this approximation, the survival path follows the ordinary law of relaxation to equilibrium. If the rate coefficients vary rapidly with environmental variables, however, the dominant survival paths exhibit more complex behaviour. Many phenomena analogous to geometrical optics occur. These include reflection off of rapid variations in rate constant, as well as refraction, giving paths very different from the equilibrium relaxation properties. A model with a piece-wise linear rate exhibits the basic phenomena, and the survival path equation is exactly solved for the general stretched exponential relaxing environment.     

A NEW ONE-STEP REDUCTIVE N-ALKYLATION OF AMINO ACIDS AND THEIR ESTERS

The reductive alkylation of amine with carbonyl compounds usingsodium hydrogen telluride has been investigated in recent years.Application of this method to the synthesis of N-alkyl derivativesof biologically important amino acids and their esters is described.     

One-Pot Formation of Carbonates from the Reactions of Carbonyl Compounds with Samarium Diiodide and Methyl Chloroformate

Treatment of carbonyl compounds with SmI₂ and methyl chloroformate in the presence of molecular sieves provides the cyclic carbonates or biscarbonates of pinacols. This one-pot reaction proceeds rapidly even with aliphatic ketones. The stereochemistry obtained by this procedure is different from that of conventional pinacolic couplings.     

Synthesis of a novel 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid derivative
