Determination of poly-beta-hydroxybutyric acid in Bacillus thuringiensis by capillary zone electrophoresis with indirect ultraviolet absorbance detection

A new capillary electrophoresis method for determining poly-beta-hydroxybutyric acid (PHB) in Bacillus thuringiensis was established. Poly-beta-hydroxybutyric acid in samples was hydrolyzed by sulphuric acid and neutralized by Ba(OH)2. The content of produced beta-hydroxybutyrate was then determined by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) with indirect UV detection at 254 nm. With 5 mM p-hydroxybenzoate and 0.5 mM tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTAB) at pH 8.0 as carrier electrolyte, beta-hydroxybutyrate can be determined within 6 min. Standard regression equation was made by beta-hydroxybutyrate, and the linear range was 2-1000 microg/ml. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for migration time and peak area are both less than 1.0%. The detection limit for beta-hydroxybutyrate was 0.2 microg/ml, which is two to three orders of magnitude lower than that of the gas chromatography (GC) method. The capillary electrophoresis method was successfully applied to determine poly-beta-hydroxybutyric acid in fermentation broth and single colony. The added standard recovery was 96%.     

Lewis-acid assisted cross metathesis of acrylonitrile with functionalized olefins catalyzed by phosphine-free ruthenium carbene complex

The exchange of the PPh3 ligand in the complex [1,3-bis(2,6-dimethylphenyl)4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene](PPh3)(Cl)2Ru=CHPh (7) for a pyridine ligand at ambient temperature leads to the formation of the stable phosphine-free carbene ruthenium complex [1,3-bis(2,6-dimethylphenyl)4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene](C5H5N)2(Cl)2 Ru=CHPh (8). The resulted ruthenium complex exhibits highly catalytic activity for the cross metathesis of acrylonitrile with various functionalized olefins under mild conditions, and its activity can be further improved by the addition of a Lewis acid such as Ti(OiPr)4. In the mixture products, the Z-isomer predominates.

Study of the relationship between the mechanical properties and processing for self-reinforced polymers: A kinetic model theory of tensile strength for self-reinforced polymers

In this paper, a new model theory of tensile strength for self-reinforced polymers is proposed. It is based on the theory of chemical activated rate and of strain-induced crystallization. A kinetic equation for bond rupture and molecular flow of the extended polymer chains was established by employing the coefficient of overstressed chain as variable. By integration and simplification, a new correlation between the tensile strength with the processing and testing conditions for self-reinforced polymers was derived from the theory. The dependence of tensile strength on the draw ratios of processing and on testing conditions was studied. The proposed theory was verified by the experimental data of poly(HDU and EUHD) crystals and Ultra High Molecular Weight of Polyethylene (UHMWPE) mechanical properties. Excellent agreement between the theory and experimental results was obtained.     

计算机模式识别法对甲状腺机能亢进症微量元素谱的研究

据Mahlanobis距离判别法，利用计算机多元统计判别程序，对14例甲亢思者和21例健康人的血清中锌、铁、铜、锰、镁和锶等元素浓度差异进行分类判别研究。选择锌、铁、钙、锶作判别特征参量时，患者和健康人的分类准确率为100％，服碘前与服碘后的甲亢患者分类准确率为92.7％，分类研究指出，甲亢患者血清中的铁和锶浓度高于健康人，经服碘治疗后，患者血清中上述元素浓度降低与健康人相近。     

116例冠心病患者血清中钙镁镉铅铍含量的探讨

测定了１１６例冠心病患者血清中钙、镁、镉、铅、铍的含量并与正常对照组比较。结果显示，常量元素钙、镁与微量元素镉、铅含量降低，而铍的含量升高。它们之间的差异有显著性或高度显著性，Ｐ〈０．０５或Ｐ〈０．０１。     

电位法测定异价阳离子通过阳离子交换膜时的选择透过性

从理论上导出了不等价的两种阳离子在通过阳离子交换膜时的选择透过性与膜电位的关系，并用电位法对一些不等价阳离子组合在两种商品膜中的选择透过性进行了测定。本方法测定结果与电渗析实际分离效果相符。     

The isotopes259106,260106, and261106

In irradiations of²⁰⁷Pb and²⁰⁸Pb, respectively, with⁵⁴Cr theα-decay of the isotopes²⁵⁹106,²⁶⁰106, and²⁶¹106 could be observed for the first time. For²⁶⁰106 a spontaneous fission branch of (50 _?20 ⁺³⁰ )% was observed. The isotopes were identified by genetic relationships of α-decay after separation in-flight with the velocity filter SHIP and implantation into a position-sensitive silicon surface-barrier detector. The measured partial fission halflife of the doubly even isotope²⁶⁰106 of (7.2 _?2.7 ^+4.8 )ms exceeds the predicted values by at least a factor of 40. This result could be explained by the high shell corrections of the ground state mass, derived from the measured α-decay energies. The experimental results show evidence for an island of purely shell stabilized nuclei in the region of deformed isotopes beyond the actinides.
