Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) can decorate surfaces with `smart′ functional units possessing reversible stimulus-response behavior for optical, thermal, magnetic or redox-chemical stimuli. An independent performance of individual functional groups in such a film is desirable, which can be, in particular, ensured by fairly large lateral separations between tailgroups in the SAM. Adsorbate molecules with multiple attachment points are very promising in this context owing to their large surface footprint, which covers a surface area exceeding the lateral dimensions of the functional groups. To address these design constraints, novel tridentate long-chain tripodal thioether ligands with central adamantine units and a redox-active ferrocenyl tailgroup, 1-[4-(ferrocenylethynyl)phenyl]-3,5,7-tri[(4-n-octylsulfanyl)phenyl]adamantine (T8) and 1-[4-(ferrocenylethynyl)phenyl]-3,5,7-tri[(4-n-dodecylsulfanyl)phenyl]adamantine (T12), were synthesized and used as tripodal adsorbate molecules for the fabrication of redox-active ferrocenyl-terminated SAMs on Au(111). These SAMs were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, near edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy and sum frequency generation spectroscopy. The data suggest that T8 and T12 form almost contamination-free, well-aligned and fairly densely-packed SAMs on Au(111) with laterally separated ferrocenyl units. The SAMs show a homogeneous binding chemistry, an important requirement for high fidelity SAMs. SFG results indicate lateral interactions between neighboring molecules via the long-chain binding units. 相似文献

A library of monodentate phosphane ligands, each bearing a guanidine receptor unit for carboxylates, was designed. Screening of the library gave some excellent catalysts for regioselective hydroformylation of β,γ‐unsaturated carboxylic acids. A terminal alkene, but‐3‐enoic acid, was hydroformylated with a linear/branched (l/b) regioselectivity up to 41. An internal alkene, pent‐3‐enoic acid was hydroformylated with regioselectivity up to 18:1. Further substrate selectivity (e.g., acid vs. methyl ester) and reaction site selectivity (monofunctionalization of 2‐vinylhept‐2‐enoic acid) were also achieved. Exploration of the structure–activity relationship and a practical and theoretical mechanistic study gave us an insight into the nature of the supramolecular guanidinium–carboxylate interaction within the catalytic system. This allowed us to identify a selective transition‐state stabilization by a secondary substrate–ligand interaction as the basis for catalyst activity and selectivity. 相似文献

LC-MS-MS experiments in proteomics are usually performed with packed microcolumns employing frits or outlets smaller than the particle diameter to retain the packing material. We have developed packed microcolumns using self-assembled particles (SAPs) as frits that are smaller than the size of the outlet. A five to one ratio of outlet size to particle diameter appears to be the upper maximum. In these situations the particles assembled into an arch over the outlet like the stones in a stone bridge. When 3 microm particles were packed into a tapered column with an 8 microm outlet, two particles bridged the outlet with 0.3 pl dead volume and perfect success rate. In peptide analysis by LC-MS, the peak width at half height was normally less than 6 s, compared to 12 s without SAPs. The LC-MS-MS system provided 37% sequence coverage (21 matched peptides) for a tryptically-digested sample of 10 fmol bovine serum albumin. We also describe application of the SAP principle to make disposable pipette tip columns with short pieces of fused-silica capillary as the outlet. 相似文献

Summary. Methyl glycosides of Kdo and a (2→8)-linked Kdo disaccharide were prepared which contain a deuterium label at C-8 of the reducing unit. The label was introduced in fair
diastereoselectivity upon reduction of an aldehyde group using a chiral borane complex derived from N-benzyloxycarbonyl-(S)-proline which produced the 8-(S)-deuterated derivative as the major isomer. Further coupling with a Kdo bromide gave the α-(2→8)-linked disaccharide in good yield. The deprotected disaccharide serves as a model for NMR spectroscopic
studies on the side chain conformation of a carbohydrate epitope from the bacterial pathogen Chlamydia.

Two corresponding-states forms have been developed for direct correlation function integrals in liquids to represent pressure effects on the volume of ionic liquids over wide ranges of temperature and pressure. The correlations can be analytically integrated from a chosen reference density to provide a full equation of state for ionic liquids over reduced densities from 1.5 to more than 3.6. One approach is empirical with 3 parameters, the other is a 2-parameter theoretical form which is directly connected to a method for predicting gas solubilities in ionic liquids. Parameters for both methods have been obtained for 28 different ionic liquid systems by reduction of carefully validated PρT data. The results show excellent agreement with the experimental data for nearly all substances over all ranges of conditions. Group contributions to parameters are also explored, leading to an entirely predictive method for ambient pressure densities and densities of compressed ionic liquids. The relativistic Kepler problem is discussed, with emphasis on the exact supersymmetry of the problem. It is shown that the supersymmetry is generated by the Johnson–Lippmann operator. Two related operators are found to generate new supersymmetries in an extended function space. Each of these supersymmetries may be disguised as radial supersymmetries. The radial supersymmetries are discussed and it is shown that each of them defines a normal-mode representation of the hydrogen-atom radial functions. Thus, one obtains two different, but equivalent, analytical expressions for these functions. The expressions are well known, but are rederived here in the light of the new understanding. The ring-opening Si-fluorination of a variety of azasilole derivatives cyclo-1-(iPr2Si)−4-X−C6H3−2-CH2NR ( 4 : R=2,6-iPr2C6H3, X=H; 4 a : R=2,4,6-Me3C6H2, X=H; 9 : R=2,6-iPr2C6H3, X=tBuMe2SiO; 10 : R=2,6-iPr2C6H3, X=OH; 13 : R=2,6-iPr2C6H3, X=HCCCH2O; 22 : R=2,6-iPr2C6H3, X=tBuMe2SiCH2O) with different 19F-fluoride sources was studied, optimized and the experience gained was used in a translational approach to create a straightforward 18F-labelling protocol for the azasilole derivatives [18F] 6 and [18F] 14 . The latter constitutes a potential clickable CycloSiFA prosthetic group which might be used in PET tracer development using Cu-catalysed triazole formation. Based on our findings, CycloSiFA has the potential to become a new entry into non-canonical labelling methodologies for radioactive PET tracer development. 相似文献
