An extended family of heterometallic [(M1)2(M2)2(L-)4](n+) [2x2] grid-type arrays 1-9 has been prepared. The three-tiered synthetic route encompasses regioselective, redox and enantioselective features and is based on the stepwise construction of heteroditopic hydrazone ligands A-C. These ligands contain ionisable NH and nonionisable NMe hydrazone units, which allows the metal redox properties to be controlled according to the charge on the ligand binding pocket. The 2-pyrimidine (R) and 6-pyridine (R') substituents have a significant effect on complex geometry and influence both the electrochemical and magnetic behaviour of the system. 1H NMR spectroscopic studies show that the Fe(II) ions in the grid can be low spin, high spin or spin crossover depending on the steric effect of substituents R and R'. This steric effect has been manipulated to construct an unusual array possessing two low-spin and two spin-crossover Fe(II) centres (grid 8). Electrochemical studies were performed for the grid-type arrays 1-9 and their respective mononuclear precursor complexes 10-13. The grids function as electron reservoirs and display up to eight monoelectronic, reversible reduction steps. These processes generally occur in pairs and are assigned to ligand-based reductions and to the Co(III)/Co(II) redox couple. Individual metal ions in the heterometallic grid motif can be selectively addressed electrochemically (e.g., either the Co(III) or Fe(II) ions can be targeted in grids 2 and 5). The Fe(II) oxidation potential is governed by the charge on the ligand binding unit, rather than the spin state, thus permitting facile electrochemical discrimination between the two types of Fe(II) centre in 7 or in 8. Such multistable heterometallic [2x2] gridlike arrays are of great interest for future supramolecular devices incorporating multilevel redox activity.  相似文献

This work deals with incineration of organic liquid wastes using an oxygen thermal plasma jet, submerged in water. The results presented here concern incineration of trichloroethylene (TCE). During a trial run, the CO2 and CO content in the exhaust gas is continuously measured; samples taken periodically from the solution are analyzed by appropriate methods: total organic carbon and chlorine content are measured. Process efficiency during tests with a few L/h of TCE is given by the mineralization rate. The trapping rate of chlorine as HCl is near 100 %. The TCE destruction and removal efficiency, measured by MS/GC, is better than 99.9999 %. A simplified kinetic model of gas quenching was constructed from a single-phase plug-flow reactor model taking into account 14 species and 34 reactions. It satisfies the requirements of heat balance and major components analysis, and reveals the major role of the OH radical on the concentrations of CO as well as HCl and/or Cl2 in the off-gas stream.  相似文献

14N-NMR. measurements using the Fourier Transform technique are presented and compared to C. W. experiments. The F. T. technique is especially advantageous for relaxation time measurements. However, since 14N-nuclei may have widely different relaxation times, it is often not possible to have optimal gain in sensitivity (as compared to C. W. measurements) in a single F. T. experiment for different 14N-nuclei contained in the same sample. Different experiments have to be performed, optimizing the spectrometer parameters for each 14N-resonance of appreciably different linewidth. The technique is applied to three different problems. 14N-relaxation in symmetrical ammonium salts is shown to arise from reorientation of the water dipoles. The use of a double spin-probe, 13C-14N, allows the determination of the electric field gradients in cyclic ammonium salts. The electronic distribution is especially distorted from tetrahedral symmetry in the highly strained N, N-dimethyl-aziridinium cation. Finally, electric and dynamic effects in ion pairing may be studied as shown on the case of tetrabutylammonium iodide in water and in benzene.  相似文献

Abstract

The mechanism of the cationic polymerization of several thietanes and of propylene sulfide under the influence of triethyloxonium tetrafluoroborate in methylene chloride is described. The thietane polymerizations stop at limited conversions because of a termination reaction occurring between the reactive chain ends (cyclic sulfonium salts) and the sulfur atoms of the polymer chain. The maximum conversions obtained under identical conditions differ markedly for the different monomers. Ratios of rate constants of propagation (kp) to rate constants of termination (kt) have been calculated. The differences in k p/kt. values for the different monomers are explained in terms of differences in basicity and differences in steric hindrance of the monomers compared to the corresponding polymers. In the case of propylene sulfide it is proposed that the main termination reaction is the formation of 12-membered ring sulfonium salts by an intramolecular reaction of the third sulfur of the growing polymer chain with the reactive chain end (three-membered ring sulfonium salt). This terminated polymer is able to reinitiate the polymerization, for example, by reaction of a monomer molecule at the exocyclic carbon atom of the sulfonium salt function. The cyclic tetramer of propylene sulfide is formed in this reaction. After complete polymerization, formation of cyclic tetramer continues, probably via a backbiting mechanism. In methylene chloride as solvent, the absolute value of the rate constant of propagation for 3,3-dimethylthietane changes with changing concentration of initiator and by adding different amounts of indifferent electrolyte to the reaction mixture. From these changes, and assuming that the value of the dissociation constant of the growing chain-ends is close to values of dissociation constants of low molecular weight sulfonium salts, separate rate constants for propagation via free ions and ion-pairs were calculated. The propagation constant of free ions is about 70 times higher than that of ion pairs in methylene chloride at 20°C. Free ions and ion pairs are nearly equally reactive in nitrobenzene.  相似文献

Two model drugs of different physico-chemical and pharmaceutical properties (ibuprofen, acetaminophen) have been incorporated together or separately in silica-based microspheres using sol–gel and spray-drying processes. A variable amount of a neutral surfactant Brij-56© has also been added. The properties of the microspheres vary significantly depending on their composition. Three kinds of texture are identified: (1) silica containing spheroid nano-domains (formed by ibuprofen; diameters between 20 and 100 nm), (2) silica containing worm-like mesophases (formed by Brij-56© and both model drugs, typical correlation distances ~6 nm), (3) silica intimately mixed with the drug (acetaminophen) without visible phase-separation. The kinetics of drug release in simulated intestinal fluid strongly depend on these textures. The association of ibuprofen and acetaminophen in a single type of microsphere and without surfactant favours a concomitant release. Possible mechanisms of materials’ formation are discussed.  相似文献

ABA block-copolymers in which the A segments are capable of forming complexes and B is a non-complexing segment, have been used to prepare polymer materials with properties that can be changed by adding a complexing agent. The complex forming segments were poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO), linear polyethylenimine (LPEI) and poly(N-tert-butylethylenimine) (PTBEI). Commercially available liquid ABA block-copolymers, in which A is PEO and B is poly(propylene oxide), were investigated with high molar mass poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) as the complexing agent for PEO. It was found that the mixtures containing 3 to 7 wt.-% of PAA, showed a marked shear-thickening behavior leading eventually to gelation. This was attributed to the transformation of intramolecular polymer complexes, at low shear rates, to intermolecular complexes, at high shear rates, due to the chain stretching of PAA. ABA copolymers in which A is LPEI or PTBEI and B polytetra-hydrofuran (PTHF), were prepared. Complexation of these copolymers with low molecular weight poly-acids or PAA in polar and non-polar solvents as well as in bulk have been investigated. ABA copolymers in which A is PEO and B a PTHF segment were prepared. These block-copolymers show two melting points: one at appr. 55°C, due to the PEO segments, and one at appr. 30°C due to the PTHF. Upon addition of alkali metal salts such as sodium iodide or sodium thiocyanate, complexes with PEO are formed and as a consequence, the melting point of the PEO segments shifts to appr. 160°C. The complexed materials behave as thermoplastic elastomers up to that temperature.  相似文献

The stereoselectivity of the addition step and the transfer step of the radical telomerization of methyl methacrylate with thiophenol has been studied by determining the structure and the amount of each isomer by 1H-NMR. We found, in this case, that the addition step gave preferentially a diad r and that the transfer step gave preferentially a diad m. On the other hand, the tacticity observed for higher telomers is preferentially syndiotactic, similar to that of the poly(methyl methacrylate) prepared by radical initiation. The propagation process for radical telomerization obeys, as for the radical polymerization, Bernoulli's statistics.  相似文献

A general strategy for the synthesis of oligobipyridine ligands 2 – 5 containing from two to five 2,2′-bipyridine subunits, for helical metal complexes is described (sec Scheme). A major hurdle in the development of complex constitutional dynamic networks (CDNs) is the lack of strategies to simultaneously control the output of two (or more) interconnected dynamic processes over several species, namely reversible covalent imine bond formation and dynamic metal–ligand coordination. We have studied in detail the self-sorting process of 11 constitutional dynamic libraries containing two different amines, aldehydes and metal salts into two imine-based metal complexes, having no overlap in terms of their compositions. This study allowed us to determine the factors influencing the fidelity of this process (concentration, electronic and steric parameters of the organic components, and nature of the metal cations). In all 11 systems, the outcome of the process was primarily determined by the ability of the octahedral metal ion to select its pair of components from the initial pool of components, with the composition of the weaker tetrahedral complex being imposed by the components rejected by the octahedral metal ions. Different octahedral metal ions required different levels of precision in the “assembling instructions” provided by the organic components of the CDN to guide it towards a sorted output. The concentration of the reaction mixture, and the electronic and steric properties of the initial components of the library were all found to influence the lifetime of unwanted metastable intermediates formed during the assembling of the two complexes.
