The present paper deals with thermophoresis in natural convection with variable properties for a laminar flow over a cold vertical flat plate. Variation of properties like density, viscosity and thermal conductivity with temperature is included in the formulation of the problem. Selection of components for the property ratio is made by fitting the property values between the desired temperature limits. For a selected fluid, Prandtl number variation with temperature is neglected and the Prandtl number corresponding to film temperature is used for the analysis. Solution is carried out by finite difference method. Variation of wall concentration and wall flux along the length of plate is studied. The effect of thermophoretic coefficient on wall concentration is also studied. Results are presented in the form of graphs. The result is compared with similarity solution by Runge-Kutta method and found to be accurate upto second decimal place. Received on 18 May 1998  相似文献

Ba0.7Sr0.3TiO3:Eu ferroelectric films were deposited on quartz substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The linear absorption coefficient and the linear refractive index calculated from the transmission spectrum at 532 nm were found to be 1.67×104 cm?1 and 1.82 respectively. The room temperature photoluminescence shows the characteristic emission of Eu3+ ions. The nonlinear optical properties of the film were investigated by a single beam Z-scan setup. The negative nonlinear refractive index and two photon absorption coefficient was found to be ?1.508×10?6 m2/GW and 240 m/GW respectively. The real and imaginary part of the third order susceptibility of the thin films is 2.58×10?17 m2/V2 and 1.16×10?16 m2/V2 respectively. The BST:Eu thin films show good optical limiting property.  相似文献

The perchloratoiron(III) complexes of a series of 2,6-disubstituted tetraphenylporphyrin ligands, where the 2,6-phenyl substituents were -H, -F, -Cl, -Br, or -OMe, as well as two 2,4,6-phenyl-substituted complexes, where the substituents were -Me and -OMe, have been investigated as a function of temperature by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Curvature in the 1/T dependence was evident in most cases. Forced linear extrapolation of the temperature dependence observed over the range of the study yielded Curie plots that include negative slopes with very large positive 1/T intercepts (Cl approximately Br > Me > H) to negative slope with near zero intercept (tri-OMe) to positive slope with very large negative intercept (F, di-OMe). The NMR results were combined with EPR spectroscopic data and curve-fitting procedures based on an expanded Curie law to arrive at a consistent overview of the variety of temperature-dependence behaviors observed. This overview relies upon the premise that, in addition to the ground state observed by EPR spectroscopy, one (or more) thermally accessible excited state(s) are populated to varying degrees over the temperature range of the NMR measurements. If only one excited state is considered, the analysis is consistent with the ground state being a largely intermediate-spin state (S = 3/2) for the majority of the complexes but a largely high-spin state (S = 5/2) for ((2,6-F2)4TPP)FeOClO3 and ((2,6-(OMe)2)4TPP)FeOClO3.  相似文献

Complex perovskite oxide ferroelectric thin films are of great technological interest because of their high dielectric constant and large tunability. In this paper, we report the structural and electrical properties of Sr \(_{3}\) Pb \(_{6}\) Ce \(_{2}\) Ti \(_{12}\) O \(_{36}\) (SPCTO) thin films grown by pulsed laser deposition. The role of oxygen pressure and substrate temperature on the microstructure, dielectric properties and leakage current mechanism of SPCTO thin films was investigated. Strong oxygen partial pressure dependence on the microcrystalline properties and leakage current conduction mechanism was observed. Both Raman spectra and C-V characteristics show a ferroelectric phase rather than paraelectric phase for the deposited thin films. Investigations on the leakage current showed that SPCTO thin films deposited at different oxygen pressure have different dominant conduction mechanism at various electric fields. The low field conduction mechanism is governed by Ohmic and space charge limited conduction mechanisms, whereas at high fields, the conduction process is dominated by Schottky emission mechanism. The dielectric constant as well as the tunability is found to increase with increase in the crystallite size.  相似文献

Magnetic properties of frozen solutions of highly oxidized iron porphyrin complexes were investigated by EPR and Mössbauer spectroscopy. The Mössbauer spectra, recorded at low temperatures in various magnetic fields, were analyzed on the basis of spin Hamiltonian simulations. Spin coupling between ferryl iron (FeIV) and porphyrin cation radical was taken into account explicitly. Hyperfine and spin-coupling parameters are given for several complexes, together with zero-field parameters. One of the complexes exhibits weak spin coupling, it is the first model system exhibiting properties comparable to those of the oxoferryl cation radical enzyme Horse Radish Peroxidase I.  相似文献

The thermodynamic analysis of direct expansion solar-assisted heat pump system working with R290 as a drop-in substitute for R22 was carried out under the metrological conditions of Calicut, India. A prototype of a DXSAHP system consists of a compressor, an air-cooled condenser with evaporator–collector and thermostatic expansion valve. The experiments were carried during the winter months of 2016. The artificial intelligence technique artificial neural network integrated with genetic algorithm model was presented to predict energy and exergy performance of a system. The energy performance ratio of a system was found to be 5.75% higher and reduced heating capacity of about 6.8% when compared to R22. Similarly, the second law analysis (exergy analysis) of a total system working with R290 was found to be better when compared to baseline refrigerant. The selected alternative working fluid is a hydrocarbon and has zero ozone depletion and negligible global warming potential. Hence, R290 can be used as a drop-in substitute for R22 in DXSAHP systems.

Present paper deals with temperature driven mass deposition rate of particles known as thermophoretic wall flux when a hot flue gas in natural convection flow through a cooled isothermal vertical parallel plate channel. Present study finds application in particle filters used to trap soot particles from post combustion gases issuing out of small furnaces with low technical implications. Governing equations are solved using finite difference marching technique with channel inlet values as initial values. Channel heights required to regain hydrostatic pressure at the exit are estimated for various entry velocities. Effect of temperature ratio between wall and gas on thermophoretic wall flux is analysed and wall flux found to increase with decrease in temperature ratio. Results are compared with published works wherever possible and can be used to predict particle deposition rate as well as the conditions favourable for maximum particle deposition rate.  相似文献
