Recently, several novel isoreticular metal-organic framework (IRMOF) structures have been fabricated and tested for hydrogen storage applications. To improve our understanding of these materials, and to promote quantitative calculations and simulations, the binding energies of hydrogen molecules to the MOF have been studied. High-quality second-order Moller-Plesset (MP2) calculations using the resolution of the identity approximation and the quadruple zeta QZVPP basis set were used. These calculations use terminated molecular fragments from the MOF materials. For H2 on the zinc oxide corners, the MP2 binding energy using Zn4O(HCO2)6 molecule is 6.28 kJ/mol. For H2 on the linkers, the binding energy is calculated using lithium-terminated molecular fragments. The MP2 results with coupled-cluster singles and doubles and noniterative triples method corrections and charge-transfer corrections are 4.16 kJ/mol for IRMOF-1, 4.72 kJ/mol for IRMOF-3, 4.86 kJ/mol for IRMOF-6, 4.54 kJ/mol for IRMOF-8, 5.50 and 4.90 kJ/mol for IRMOF-12, 4.87 and 4.84 kJ/mol for IRMOF-14, 5.42 kJ/mol for IRMOF-18, and 4.97 and 4.66 kJ/mol for IRMOF-993. The larger linkers are all able to bind multiple hydrogen molecules per side. The linkers of IRMOF-12, IRMOF-993, and IRMOF-14 can bind two to three, three, and four hydrogen molecules per side, respectively. In general, the larger linkers have the largest binding energies, and, together with the enhanced surface area available for binding, will provide increased hydrogen storage. We also find that adding up NH2 or CH3 groups to each linker can provide up to a 33% increase in the binding energy.  相似文献

The use of electrolytically generated silver(II) as a coulometric titrant has been studied. Difficulties arising from the current efficiency for generation of silver (II) at a platinum or gold electrode and from the reduction of silver(II) by water, have been overcome. The precautions necessary for accurate titrations of oxalic acid, cerium(III), arsenic(III) and vanadium(IV) by amperometric or potentiometric methods are detailed. Manganese and chromium could not be determined directly. Substances which reduce nitric acid could be determined if care was taken.  相似文献

The M?ssbauer effect spectra for a series of small [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)(x)()] substituted metallaborane complexes are reported, where x = 1 or 2. The pentaborane cage in compounds [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)(2)B(5)H(7)P(C(6)H(5))(2)] (1), [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)(2)B(5)H(8)] (2), and [(Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)(2))(2)B(5)H(7)] (3) was found to act as a significantly better donor ligand than the ligands in a comparison group of previously reported [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)LX] complexes, where L = CO or PPh(3) and X = halide, pseudohalide, or alkyl ligands. These metallaborane complexes were found to most resemble their silyl analogues in M?ssbauer spectral parameters and the electronic distribution around the iron centers. In addition, the M?ssbauer data showed that the [&mgr;-2,3-(P(C(6)H(5))(2)B(5)H(7)](-) ligand was a superior donor to the corresponding unsubstituted [B(5)H(8)](-) ligand. The M?ssbauer spectral results for the metallaborane complexes studied were found to be in general agreement with the anticipated donor and accepting bonding considerations for the cage ligands based upon their infrared and (11)B NMR spectra and X-ray structural features. The M?ssbauer data for the [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)B(4)H(6)(P(C(6)H(5))(2))] (4) and [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)B(3)H(7)(P(C(6)H(5))(2))] (5) complexes, in comparison with compound 1, showed that as the borane cage becomes progressively smaller, it becomes a poorer donor ligand. A qualitative relationship was found between the observed M?ssbauer isomer shift data and the number of boron cage vertices for the structurally related [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)(x)B(y)H(z)P(C(6)H(5))(2)] complexes, where x = 1 or 2, y = 3-5, and z = 6 or 7. The X-ray crystallographic data for compounds 1, 2, 5, and [Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))(CO)B(5)H(8)] (6) were also found to agree with the trends observed in the M?ssbauer spectra which showed that the s-electron density on the iron nucleus increases in the order 5 < 6 < 2 < 1. The X-ray crystal structure of complex 2 is also reported. The normal mode frequencies and corresponding vibrational assignments of phosphirane in are examined theoretically using the GAUSSIAN 98 set of quantum chemistry codes. All normal modes were successfully assigned to one of nine types of motion (C–C stretch, P–C stretch C–H stretch, P–H stretch, CH2 scissors, CH2 wag, CH2 rock, CH2 twist, and P–H wag) predicted by a group theoretical analysis. Comparing the vibrational frequencies with IR and Raman spectra available in the literature, a set of scaling factors are derived. Predicted infrared and Raman intensities are reported.  相似文献

Several NMR screening techniques have been developed in recent years to aid in the identification of lead drug compounds. These NMR methods have traditionally been used for protein targets, and here we examine their applicability for an RNA target. We used the SHAPES compound library to test three different NMR screening methodologies: the saturation transfer difference (STD), the 2D trNOESY, and the WaterLOGSY experiments. We found that the WaterLOGSY experiment was the most sensitive method for our RNA target, the P4P6 domain of the Tetrahymena thermophila Group I intron. Using the WaterLOGSY experiment, we found that 23 of the 112 SHAPES compounds interact with P4P6. To identify which of these 23 hits bind through nonspecific interactions, we counterscreened with a linear duplex RNA control and identified one of the SHAPES compounds as interacting with P4P6 specifically. We thus demonstrated that the WaterLOGSY experiment in combination with the SHAPES compound library can be used to efficiently find RNA binding lead compounds.  相似文献

Summary The spectrochemical, electrochemical and electrocatalytic properties of Co[15]aneN4 ([15]aneN4 = 1,4,8,12-tetraazacyclopentadecane) have been investigated. The results show that, in aqueous solution, this compound mainly exists as three species whose axial coordination positions are occupied by water and/or hydroxy ligands; it is marginal whether other substrates such as Cl and NO inf3 sup– interact with the central ion in acid-base solutions. The approximate Pourbaix diagram of CoIII/II[15]ane N4 was determined. There is an electrochemically-induced isomerization between two trans conformational isomers of the Co[15]aneN4 complexes in acid and netural solutions. The Co[15]aneN4 complex has electrocatalytic properties for reduction of nitrate and nitrite only in strong alkaline solution.  相似文献

The vibrational frequencies and corresponding normal mode assignments of urazole are examined theoretically using the Gaussian98 set of quantum chemistry codes. All normal modes were successfully assigned to one of eight types of motion (N--H stretch, C=O stretch, C--N stretch, N--N stretch, N--H bend, C=O bend, N--C--N bend, ring torsion) utilizing the C2 symmetry of the molecule. The molecular orbitals of urazole are examined. The simultaneous double inversion of the amine groups in urazole is also examined.  相似文献
