Optical absorption in asymmetric double quantum wells driven by two intense terahertz fields 下载免费PDF全文
Optical absorption is investigated for asymmetric double quantum wells driven by a resonant terahertz field and a varied terahertz field both polarized along the growth direction. Rich nonlinear dynamics of the replica peak and the Autler-Townes splitting of various dressed states are systematically studied in undoped asymmetric double quantum wells by taking account of multiple factors, such as the frequency of the varied terahertz field and the strength of the resonant terahertz field. Each electron subband splits into two dressed states when the resonant terahertz field is applied in the absence of the varied terahertz field, the optical absorption spectrum shows the first order Autler-Townes splitting of the electron subbands. When a varied terahertz field is added into the resonant system, the replica peak and the second order Autler-Townes splitting of the dressed states near the band edge respectively emerge when the varied terahertz field is non-resonant and resonant with these dressed states. When the strength of the resonant terahertz field is increased, the first order Autler-Townes double peaks and the replica peak in the optical absorption spectrum shift with the shifts of the dressed states. The dependence of cross sections on the colour state of the colliding hadrons is investigated within the Low-Nussinov model of two-gluon exchange. The total cross sections for colour-octet hadrons are practically constant as functions of the hadronic radii, while they tend to zero when the radii of the colour-singlet hadrons approach zero. The slope parameter of the differential clastic cross sections for small momentum transfers is rather insensitive to the colour structure of the colliding hadrons. Using the field theoretic renormalization group technique the model of a passive vector field advected by an incompressible turbulent flow is investigated up to the second order of the perturbation theory (two-loop approximation). The turbulent environment is given by statistical fluctuations of the velocity field that has a Gaussian distribution with zero mean and defined noise with finite correlations in time. Two-loop analysis of all possible scaling regimes in general d-dimensional space is done in the plane of exponents ? ? η, where ? characterizes the energy spectrum of the velocity field in the inertial range E ∝ k 1 ? 2ε, and η is related to the correlation time at the wave number k which is scaled as k ?2 + η. It is shown that the scaling regimes of the present model of vector advection have essentially different properties than the scaling regimes of the corresponding model of passively advected scalar quantity. The results demonstrate the fact that within the present model of passively advected vector field the internal tensor structure of the advected field can have nontrivial impact on the diffusion processes deep inside in the inertial interval of given turbulent flow. 相似文献

This paper studies a generalized version of multi-class cost-constrained random-coding ensemble with multiple auxiliary costs for the transmission of N correlated sources over an N-user multiple-access channel. For each user, the set of messages is partitioned into classes and codebooks are generated according to a distribution depending on the class index of the source message and under the constraint that the codewords satisfy a set of cost functions. Proper choices of the cost functions recover different coding schemes including message-dependent and message-independent versions of independent and identically distributed, independent conditionally distributed, constant-composition and conditional constant composition ensembles. The transmissibility region of the scheme is related to the Cover-El Gamal-Salehi region. A related family of correlated-source Gallager source exponent functions is also studied. In the study of disease spreading on empirical complex networks in SIR model, initially infected nodes can be ranked according to some measure of their epidemic impact. The highest ranked nodes, also referred to as “superspreaders”, are associated to dominant epidemic risks and therefore deserve special attention. In simulations on studied empirical complex networks, it is shown that the ranking depends on the dynamical regime of the disease spreading. A possible mechanism leading to this dependence is illustrated in an analytically tractable example. In systems where the allocation of resources to counter disease spreading to individual nodes is based on their ranking, the dynamical regime of disease spreading is frequently not known before the outbreak of the disease. Therefore, we introduce a quantity called epidemic centrality as an average over all relevant regimes of disease spreading as a basis of the ranking. A recently introduced concept of phase diagram of epidemic spreading is used as a framework in which several types of averaging are studied. The epidemic centrality is compared to structural properties of nodes such as node degree, k-cores and betweenness. There is a growing trend of epidemic centrality with degree and k-cores values, but the variation of epidemic centrality is much smaller than the variation of degree or k-cores value. It is found that the epidemic centrality of the structurally peripheral nodes is of the same order of magnitude as the epidemic centrality of the structurally central nodes. The implications of these findings for the distributions of resources to counter disease spreading are discussed. 相似文献

The characteristics and performance of an ionic polymer–metal composite (IPMC), prepared with an anion‐exchange acrylic copolymer, was examined. The acrylic copolymer was synthesized by the radical copolymerization of fluoroalkyl methacrylate and 2‐(dimethyl amino)ethyl methacrylate(AMA). Effects of the AMA repeating unit's content in the copolymer and effects of the anion type present on the actuation of the IPMC were observed. The optimal content of 19.4 wt% AMA in the IPMC copolymer yielded the best actuation. A comprehensive algorithm was recently proposed for calculation of the sonochemical effectiveness factor and wastewater treatment modeling. The presented approach implies that ultrasound is an auxiliary source of free radicals in Fenton type reactions; introduction of ultrasound represents an enhancement of pollutant degradation rates. The sonochemical effectiveness factor was introduced in kinetic models as the eUS factor (Gr?i? et al., 2012 [1]). As a substantial follow-up, this study presents novel considerations. The eUS factor was modeled as a function of employed frequency, actual cavitation-related power intensity of ultrasound and a portion of the cavitationally active zone, i.e. dimensionless active volume. The effect of temperature was disregarded in the present model considerations. Cavitationally active zone in reactors was determined based on the erosion of aluminum foil, resulting in cone-shaped space arising from transducer.In the present study, sonochemical treatment of industrial wastewater containing HCOONa as organic pollutant was performed using different equipment: ultrasonic baths (UB1, UB2 and UB3), cylindrical reactor with homogenizer (HCR) and three-frequency hexagonal cell, i.e. ultrasonic pilot reactor prototype (PP). Explored frequency range was from 20 to 120 kHz. Homogeneous and heterogeneous Fenton-type sonochemical processes, US/Fe(II)(FeSO4,aq.)/H2O2 and US/Fe(II)(steel-plate)/H2O2, respectively, applied to industrial wastewater were investigated in terms of mineralization kinetics. Newly modeled eUS factor was introduced in corresponding kinetic models and the overall model was validated. Kinetic parameters of Fenton process were treated as independent of ultrasound, since eUS factor consists of cavitation-related phenomena responsible for the mineralization rate enhancement. In average, a 21% increase of mineralization efficiency was achieved using a single frequency, while more than 70% increase can be achieved by combining 20, 68 and 120 kHz in PP. 相似文献
