137-01137-01137-01-deformed extended Galilei algebra

We apply the pseudoextension mechanism, which in the undeformed case gives the centrally extended Galilei group {ie137-02} as a contraction of a trivial extensionP×U(1) of the Poincaré group, to the case of the-Poincaré algebra. As a result, the four-dimensional {ie137-03}-deformed extended Galilei algebra is obtained.Presented at the 4th Colloquium Quantum Groups and Integrable Systems, Prague, 22–24 June 1995.     

A Mössbauer spectroscopic study of cobalt-iron molybdates

Fe _x Co_1–x MoO₄ compounds prepared by coprecipitation were studied by XRD, electrical conductivity and mainly by absorption and emission Mössbauer spectroscopy. FeMoO₄ and CoMoO₄ samples were shown to contain Fe³⁺ and Co³⁺, respectively, in solid solution. Three kinds of Fe _x Co_1–x MoO₄ solids can be described. Forx0.16: one has a -Co(Fe²⁺, Fe³⁺)MoO₄ solid solution. For 0.17x0.25: one has the same solid solution with its surface rich in Fe³⁺. Forx0.26: one has the same solid solution with only bulk Fe³⁺, and ferric molybdate. Studies of reduction by hydrogen and of catalytic reaction of mechanical mixtures of CoMoO₄ and ferric molybdate support these statements.     

Some geometric aspects of the calculus of fractions

We give necessary and sufficient conditions on class S of maps of a category C so that a good calculus of fractions is possible in C[S ^-1], and a geometric characterization of the communitative diagrams in the category of fractions. These conditions are also described simply in terms of Grothendiek topologies.We characterize the categories which arise in this manner by the fact that the functor C C[S ^-1] is uniformly flat and give some applications of this result.
