The autocatalytic oxidation of a weak acid is a common building block of the pH oscillators. These reactions can be described by a simple general scheme that includes a protonation equilibrium and the oxidation of the protonated form of the weak acid. Here we show that independently from the chemical nature of the oxidizing agent, these reactions bear some general features, namely (1) the change in pH (ΔpH) observed during the reaction is determined by the acidity constant (KHA) and by the initial concentration of the unprotonated form of the weak acid (A?): , (2) the inflection time of the autocatalytic reaction (ti) depends reciprocally on KHA and on the initial hydrogen ion concentration, and (3) in the presence of a competitive reversible proton‐binding component (D?), that is not involved in the oxidation process, ΔpH follows a titration‐like curve as the concentration of D? is increased, ti is only slightly affected but the maximum rate of the autocatalytic process is significantly reduced. The slowing of the overall reaction is proportional to the acidity constant of the proton‐binding component.  相似文献

Abstract

Nuclear spin relaxation of quadrupolar nuclei provides access to a wide range of properties of lyotropic liquid crystals, ranging from the molecular ordering and dynamics at the interface to the macroscopic viscoelastic behaviour. We emphasize here the unique capability of the spin relaxation method to provide detailed geometric and dynamic information relating to the microstructure of lyotropic liquid crystals, i.e. the metric, curvature, and fluctuations of the dividing interface that separates polar and non-polar regions. This information is conveyed to the spin system via the translational diffusion of surfactants or counterions over the interface. The general principles of the spin relaxation method, as applied to lyotropic liquid crystals, are described, with emphasis on the model-independent information content of the relaxation observables and on the relation to microstructure. Specific results for lamellar, hexagonal, cubic, and nematic phases are also described.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Synthetic routes are described to zwitter-ionic disaccharides that are diastereoisomerically related to frame-shifted repeating units of the title polysaccharide that contains 2-acetamido-4-amino-2,4,6-trideoxy-D-galactose and 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-L-altruronic acid. The intermediates corresponding to the trideoxygalactose residue feature acylamino functions at C-2 and an azido group at C-4. Best results were obtained with N-phthaloyl- and N-trichloroacetyl-protected derivatives. The intermediates corresponding to the uronic acid residue were either a D-altruronic acid-derived acceptor or a D-altrose-derived donor in which C-6 was oxidized after disaccharide formation.  相似文献

The development of methods for the separation of enantiomers has attracted great interest in the past 20 years, since it became evident that the potential biological or pharmacological applications are mostly restricted to one of the enantiomers. In the past decade, macrocyclic antibiotics have proved to be an exceptionally useful class of chiral selectors for the separation of enantiomers of biological and pharmacological importance by means of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), thin-layer chromatography and electrophoresis. The glycopeptides avoparcin, teicoplanin, ristocetin A and vancomycin have been extensively used as chiral selectors in the form of chiral bonded phases in HPLC, and HPLC stationary phases based on these glycopeptides have been commercialized. In fact, the macrocyclic glycopeptides are to some extent complementary to one another: where partial enantioresolution is obtained with one glycopeptide, there is a high probability that baseline or better separation can be obtained with another. This review sets out to characterize the physicochemical properties of these macrocyclic glycopeptide antibiotics and, through their application, endeavors to demonstrate the mechanism of separation on macrocyclic glycopeptides. The sequence of elution of the stereoisomers and the relation to the absolute configuration are also discussed.  相似文献

Vibronic interactions have received increasing attention in modern structural chemistry. Edward Teller played a pioneering role in understanding and describing them during the “molecular physics” period of his scientific career. Very little is known about the two scientists who contributed significantly to our knowledge about these effects and whose names have become associated with Teller’s. This Editorial is devoted to Hermann Jahn and Rudolf Renner and attempts to lift them out of oblivion by paying them tribute for their contributions.

R-solriamfetol is a recently approved drug used for the treatment of excessive sleepiness associated with narcolepsy and sleep apnea. Herein, a capillary electrophoretic method was developed, enabling the simultaneous analysis of the API and its S-enantiomer in addition to the enantiomers of its major impurity phenylalaninol. Twenty-nine different cyclodextrins (CDs), including native, neutral, and charged ones were screened as potential chiral selectors, and the best results were obtained with sulfated CDs. Randomly sulfated-β-CD exhibited outstanding enantioresolution, the peaks of phenylalaninol enantiomers inserted between the two peaks of solriamfetol enantiomers, while sulfated-γ-CD (S-γ-CD) showed remarkable resolution values in a much shorter analysis time with the optimal enantiomer migration order. Among the single isomer sulfated CD derivatives, substituent dependent enantiomer migration order reversal could also be observed in the case of heptakis(6-O-sulfo)-β-CD (HS-β-CD) or heptakis(2,3-O-dimethyl-6-O-sulfo)-β-CD (HDMS-β-CD) with R-,S-solriamfetol, and heptakis(2,3-O-diacetyl-6-O-sulfo)-β-CD (HDAS-β-CD) resulting S-,R-solriamfetol migration order. The sulfated-γ-CD system was chosen for method optimization applying orthogonal experimental design. The optimized method (45 mM Tris-acetate buffer, pH 4.5, 4 mM S-γ-CD, 21°C, +19.5 kV) was capable for the baseline separation of solriamfetol and phenylalaninol enantiomers within 7 min. The optimized method was validated according to the ICH guidelines and successfully applied for the analysis of pharmaceutical preparation (Sunosi® 75 mg tablet), thus it may serve as a routine procedure for the laboratories of regulatory authorities as well as in Pharmacopoeias.  相似文献
