Two mononuclear high-spin Fe(II) complexes with trigonal planar ([Fe(II)(N(TMS)(2))(2)(PCy(3))] (1) and distorted tetrahedral ([Fe(II)(N(TMS)(2))(2)(depe)] (2) geometries are reported (TMS = SiMe(3), Cy = cyclohexyl, depe = 1,2-bis(diethylphosphino)ethane). The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 reveal the profound effect of out-of-state spin-orbit coupling (SOC) on slow magnetic relaxation. Complex 1 exhibits slow relaxation of the magnetization under an applied optimal dc field of 600 Oe due to the presence of low-lying electronic excited states that mix with the ground electronic state. This mixing re-introduces orbital angular momentum into the electronic ground state via SOC, and 1 thus behaves as a field-induced single-molecule magnet. In complex 2, the lowest-energy excited states have higher energy due to the ligand field of the distorted tetrahedral geometry. This higher energy gap minimizes out-of-state SOC mixing and zero-field splitting, thus precluding slow relaxation of the magnetization for 2.  相似文献

A dysprosium(III) sandwich complex, [Dy(III)(COT″)(2)Li(THF)(DME)], was synthesized using 1,4-bis(trimethylsilyl)cyclooctatetraenyl dianion (COT″). The complex behaves as a single-ion magnet and demonstrates unusual multiple relaxation modes. The observed relaxation pathways strongly depend on the applied static dc fields.  相似文献

Reaction of the divalent [(t-Bu)NP(Ph)(2)N(t-Bu)]CrCl(2)Li(THF)(2) (1) with 1 equiv of vinyl Grignard (CH(2)=CH)MgCl reproducibly afforded the triangulo {π-[(t-Bu)N-P(Ph)(2)-N(t-Bu)]Cr}(2)(μ,μ',η(4),η(4)'-C(4)H(4)){σ-[(t-Bu)N-P(Ph)(2)-N(t-Bu)]Cr} (2) containing a σ-/π-bonded butadiene-diyl unit. The diene-diyl moiety was generated by an oxidative coupling and deprotonation of two vinyl anions. The crystal structure revealed that of the three chromium atoms, each bearing one NPN ligand, two are perpendicularly bonded to the two sides of the π-system of the butadiene-diyl residue in a sort of inverted sandwich type of structure. The third is instead coplanar with the doubly deprotonated C(4) unit and σ-bonded to the two terminal carbon atoms. Despite the appearance as a Cr(II)/Cr(I) mixed valence species, DFT calculations have revealed that the structure of 2 consists of three divalent chromium atoms, while the additional electron resides on the π-system of the bridging organic residue. Complex 2 behaves as a single component selective catalyst for ethylene trimerization.  相似文献

A family of M-VP (M = Ni, Co, Cd, Mn, Zn, Fe, Cu, Pb; VP = vinylphosphonate) and M-PVP (M = Co, Cd; PVP = phenylvinylphosphonate) materials have been synthesized by hydrothermal methods and characterized by FT-IR, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Their structures were determined either by single crystal X-ray crystallography or from laboratory X-ray powder diffraction data. The crystal structure of some M-VP and M-PVP materials is two-dimensional (2D) layered, with the organic groups (vinyl or phenylvinyl) protruding into the interlamellar space. However, the Pb-VP and Cu-VP materials show dramatically different structural features. The porous, three-dimensional (3D) structure of Pb-VP contains the Pb center in a pentagonal pyramid. A Cu-VP variant of the common 2D layered structure shows a very peculiar structure. The structure of the material is 2D with the layers based upon three crystallographically distinct Cu atoms; an octahedrally coordinated Cu(2+) atom, a square planar Cu(2+) atom and a Cu(+) atom. The latter has an unusual co-ordination environment as it is 3-coordinated to two oxygen atoms with the third bond across the double bond of the vinyl group. Metal-coordinated water loss was studied by TGA and thermodiffractometry. The rehydration of the anhydrous phases to give the initial phase takes place rapidly for Cd-PVP but it takes several days for Co-PVP. The M-VP materials exhibit variable dehydration-rehydration behavior, with most of them losing crystallinity during the process.  相似文献

A novel cyclic thiourea, 5-acetyl-4,6-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-2-thione (L), was synthesized by the reaction of N-(1-tosylethyl)thiourea with potassium enolate of acetylacetone followed by acid-catalyzed dehydration of the obtained 5-acetyl-4-hydroxy-4,6-dimethylhexahydropyrimidine-2-thione. Its polymorphs and complexes with zinc, cadmium, and mercury iodides were studied by X-ray diffraction. Two polymorphs of 5-acetyl-4,6-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-2-thione differ in ring conformation and packing manner. In the monomeric cadmium complex [CdL2I2], the central atom is tetrahedrally coordinated in the standard manner by iodine and thiocarbonyl S atoms, while in the dimeric mercury complex [Hg2L2I4], every mercury atom is coordinated by two bridging I atoms, one terminal I atom and one thiocarbonyl S atom of the ligand. In the polymeric zinc complex [ZnLI2], the zinc tetrahedra are linked by the bidentate bridging 5-acetyl-4,6-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-2-thione molecules through thiocarbonyl S atom and acetyl O atom.  相似文献

Nitroxide spin probe electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) has proven to be a very successful method to probe local polarity and solvent hydrogen bonding properties at the molecular level. The g(xx) and the (14)N hyperfine A(zz) principal values are the EPR parameters of the nitroxide spin probe that are sensitive to these properties and are therefore monitored experimentally. Recently, the (14)N quadrupole interaction of nitroxides has been shown to be also highly sensitive to polarity and H-bonding (A. Savitsky et al., J. Phys. Chem. B 112 (2008) 9079). High-field electron spin echo envelope modulation (ESEEM) was used successfully to determine the P(xx) and P(yy) principal components of the (14)N quadrupole tensor. The P(zz) value was calculated from the traceless character of the quadrupole tensor. We introduce here high-field (W-band, 95 GHz, 3.5 T) electron-electron double resonance (ELDOR)-detected NMR as a method to obtain the (14)N P(zz) value directly, together with A(zz). This is complemented by W-band hyperfine sublevel correlation (HYSCORE) measurements carried out along the g(xx) direction to determine the principal P(xx) and P(yy) components. Through measurements of TEMPOL dissolved in solvents of different polarities, we show that A(zz) increases, while |P(zz)| decreases with polarity, as predicted by Savitsky et al.  相似文献

A spectrometer specifically designed for systematic studies of the spin dynamics underlying Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) in solids at low temperatures is described. The spectrometer functions as a fully operational NMR spectrometer (144 MHz) and pulse EPR spectrometer (95 GHz) with a microwave (MW) power of up to 300 mW at the sample position, generating a MW B(1) field as high as 800 KHz. The combined NMR/EPR probe comprises of an open-structure horn-reflector configuration that functions as a low Q EPR cavity and an RF coil that can accommodate a 30-50 μl sample tube. The performance of the spectrometer is demonstrated through some basic pulsed EPR experiments, such as echo-detected EPR, saturation recovery and nutation measurements, that enable quantification of the actual intensity of MW irradiation at the position of the sample. In addition, DNP enhanced NMR signals of samples containing TEMPO and trityl are followed as a function of the MW frequency. Buildup curves of the nuclear polarization are recorded as a function of the microwave irradiation time period at different temperatures and for different MW powers.  相似文献

The synthesis of tervalent phosphorus esters continues to be a significant area of interest, much of it again directed toward the synthesis of phosphite ligands for metal‐catalyzed reactions. Typically, they were obtained through esterification of the corresponding phosphorus chlorides with the appropriate alcohols in the presence of an amine. In this paper, we present a new method for the synthesis of tervalent phosphorus esters, not yet mentioned in the literature, when potassium phosphate, as a unique base, is used in liquid–solid system. Symmetrical and unsymmetrical phosphites were obtained with good yields (65%–80%) using this method. The compounds were characterized by 31P NMR spectroscopy. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Imitation of cellular processes in cell-like compartments is a current research focus in synthetic biology. Here, a method is introduced for assembling an artificial cytoskeleton in a synthetic cell model system based on a poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAM) composite material. Toward this end, a PNIPAM-based composite material inside water-in-oil droplets that are stabilized with PNIPAM-functionalized and commercial fluorosurfactants is introduced. The temperature-mediated contraction/release behavior of the PNIPAM-based cytoskeleton is investigated. The reversibility of the PNIPAM transition is further examined in bulk and in droplets and it could be shown that hydrogel induced deformation could be used to controllably manipulate droplet-based synthetic cell motility upon temperature changes. It is envisioned that a combination of the presented artificial cytoskeleton with naturally occurring components might expand the bandwidth of the bottom-up synthetic biology.  相似文献

Heterogenized activators - “support-H2O/AlR3” (where R=Me, iBu, support=montmorillonite, zeolite), synthesized directly on the support, form with metallocenes metal alkyl complexes highly active in olefin polymerization without the use of commercial methylaluminoxane (MAO). It was shown by the method of temperature programmed desorption with the application of mass-spectrometry (TPD-MS) that the aluminumorganic compound in support-H2O/AlR3 is in general similar to the structure of commercial MAO. The heterogenization of Zr-cenes on support-H2O/AlR3 is accompanied by the appearance of the energy non-uniformity of active sites. The activation energy of thermal destruction of active Zr-C bonds in the active sites of prepared catalysts changes in the range from 25 to 32 kcal/mol.  相似文献
