The paper deals with the dynamical behavior of fish and mussel population in a fish farm where external food is supplied. The ecosystem of the fish farm is represented by a set of nonlinear differential equations involving the nutrient (food), fish and mussels. We have studied the boundedness, local stability and global stability of the model system. We have incorporated the discrete type gestational delay of fish and analyze effect of the delay on the dynamical behavior of the model system. The delay parameter complicates the dynamics depending on the external food from changing the stable state to unstable damped periodic trajectories leading to a limit cycle oscillation. We have studied the Hopf-bifurcation of the model system in the neighborhood of the coexisting equilibrium point considering delay as a variable bifurcation parameter. We have performed numerical simulation to verify the analytical results. The entire study reveals that the external food supply controls the dynamics of the system.  相似文献

A model for double-diffusive convection in a heterogeneous porous layer with a constant throughflow is explored, with penetrative convection being simulated via an internal heat source using the Brinkman model. In particular, we analyse the effect of slip boundary conditions on the stability of the model. Because of the many applications in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and other microfluidic devices, a study of this problem is necessary. Both linear instability analysis and nonlinear stability analysis are employed. We accurately analyse when stability and instability will commence and determine the critical Rayleigh number as a function of the slip coefficient.  相似文献

The present paper reports an investigation in which X-ray diffraction (WAXS and SAXS) patterns are applied to obtain qualitative information regarding supermolecular structure of drawn und undrawn samples of polypropylene fibres. A sensitive, rapid and economical spectrophotometric method based on their interaction with NQS reagent in basic medium, which produces orange-colored complexes, has been devised to identify many drugs with amino groups (clotrimazole and phenylephrine-HCl). The maximum absorption for the complexes of clotrimazole and phenylephrine-HCl is 455 and 484 nm, respectively. Beer's law is applicable in the concentration ranges of (2–40) μg/ml for clotrimazole and (0–20) μg/ml for phenylephrine-HCl. The molar absorptivity values are 3931.1760 L/mol.cm and 4521.4074 L/mol.cm of clotrimazole and phenylephrine-HCl respectively with accuracy of 100.0285%–103.1456% and RSD better than 3.3211%. The method has been successfully used to determine these medications in pharmaceutical formulations, and it has been found to be superior to British Pharmacopeia standard procedures. At a 95% confidence level, F and t-tests are less than the tabulated values.  相似文献

Dropwise addition of water to blend solutions of block copolymer-stabilized quantum dots (QDs) and amphiphilic block copolymer stabilizing chains PS(665)-b-PAA(68) (PS = polystyrene, PAA = poly(acrylic acid)) in DMF induces self-assembly to form photoluminescent mesoscale QD/block copolymer colloids in water termed QD compound micelles (QDCMs). Here we demonstrate reproducible kinetic control of QDCM particle size and chain stretching within the external PAA stabilizing layer via changes in the initial polymer concentration and rate of water addition. By increasing the initial polymer concentration or decreasing the rate of water addition for a constant blend composition, larger QDCM particles are obtained. From a combination of transmission electron microscopy and dynamic light scattering, the thickness of the external PAA layer is determined for various QDCM sizes, showing that PAA stretching in the external brush layer increases with increasing particle size, reaching the limit of fully extended chains for sufficiently large particles. The photoluminescence spectra from QDCMs in pure water indicate that photoluminescence properties of the block copolymer-stabilized QD building blocks are retained during self-assembly. The demonstrated control of mesoscale particle size and conformation of the stabilizing PAA layer, among other related structural parameters, via simple variation of experimental conditions is a promising step toward the application of QDCM assemblies in photonics and biolabeling.  相似文献

Haematococcus pluvialis, a green microalga, appears to be a rich source of valuable bioactive compounds, such as astaxanthin, carotenoids, proteins, lutein, and fatty acids (FAs). Astaxanthin has a variety of health benefits and is used in the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries. Astaxanthin, for example, preserves the redox state and functional integrity of mitochondria and shows advantages despite a low dietary intake. Because of its antioxidant capacity, astaxanthin has recently piqued the interest of researchers due to its potential pharmacological effects, which include anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities, as well as neuro-, cardiovascular-, ocular, and skin-protective properties. Astaxanthin is a popular nutritional ingredient and a significant component in animal and aquaculture feed. Extensive studies over the last two decades have established the mechanism by which persistent oxidative stress leads to chronic inflammation, which then mediates the majority of serious diseases. This mini-review provides an overview of contemporary research that makes use of the astaxanthin pigment. This mini-review provides insight into the potential of H. pluvialis as a potent antioxidant in the industry, as well as the broad range of applications for astaxanthin molecules as a potent antioxidant in the industrial sector.  相似文献

Here, we report a facile route to the synthesizing of a new donor–acceptor complex, L3, using 4-{[(anthracen-9-yl)meth-yl] amino}-benzoic acid, L2, as donor moiety with anthraquinone as an acceptor moiety. The formation of donor–acceptor complex L3 was facilitated via H-bonding and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The X-ray diffraction results confirmed the synthesized donor–acceptor complex L3 crystal belongs to the triclinic system possessing the P-1 space group. The complex L3 was also characterized by other spectral techniques, viz., FTIR and UV absorption spectroscopy, which confirmed the formation of new bonds between donor L2 moiety and acceptor anthraquinone molecule. The crystallinity and thermal stability of the newly synthesized complex L3 was confirmed by powdered XRD and TGA analysis and theoretical studies; Hirshfeld surface analysis was performed to define the type of interactions occurring in the complex L3. Interestingly, theoretical results were successfully corroborated with experimental results of FTIR and UV absorption. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations were employed for HOMO to LUMO; the energy gap (∆E) was calculated to be 3.6463 eV. The complex L3 was employed as a photocatalyst for the degradation of MB dye and was found to be quite efficient. The results showed MB dye degraded about 90% in 200 min and followed the pseudo-first-order kinetic with rate constant k = 0.0111 min−1 and R2 = 0.9596. Additionally, molecular docking reveals that the lowest binding energy was −10.8 Kcal/mol which indicates that the L3 complex may be further studied for its biological applications.  相似文献

Breynia distachia is a plant of genus Breynia belonging to family Phyllanthaceae. This study was conducted to isolate and examine the anti-inflammatory attributes of the roots of Breynia distachia. Methanol extract from roots were prepared by simple maceration. For phytochemical studies, isolation, purification, structure elucidation, metal analysis, total phenolic content, and solubility test were done by chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated by cotton pallet edema model and carrageenan paw edema model, and antioxidant potential was evaluated by DPPH, FRAP, and ABTS antioxidants assays. Metal analysis of BD.Me revealed the presence of Na > Mg > K > Mn > Fe = Zn in respective order. Four phytochemicals such as gallic acid, quercetin, sinapic acid, and p-coumaric acid are found in Breynia distachia. Quercetin is present in relatively larger quantity, and shows antioxidant activity by reducing the ferric iron to ferrous iron. Novel distachionate shows high antioxidant activity in ABTS assay by reducing reactive oxygen species. Quantitative or qualitative analysis performed by HPLC indicates the ascending peaks or presence of secondary products (metabolites) respectively. Histopathology analysis of liver, spleen, heart, and kidney was done, revealing mild inflammations in spleen and liver, and no cytotoxicity in heart and kidney. Oral administration of BD.Me and ditachionate significantly inhibits the carrageenan and cotton pellet-induced paw edema in 1st and 2nd h with (ns = p > 0.05) than control. After 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th h, BD.Me and ditachionate showed inhibition of paw edema in a highly significant (*** = p < 0.001) manner as compared to control. In cotton-pellet edema model, distachionate shows a %inhibition of 57.3% at a dose level of 5 mg/kg. Docking values obtained from distachionate-COX-2 complex suggest a potent inhibitor evaluated for this protein. The distachionate shows effective anti-inflammatory activity. Methanol extracts of roots showed significant lipoxygenase inhibitory activity by IC50 values of 155.7 ± 0.55 and 132.9 ± 0.33 μg/mL. Data from various in vitro and in vivo models suggest that novel distachionate isolated from Breynia distachia shows strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities; it should be further studied for the exploration of its medicinal potential.  相似文献
