(Z)‐1‐Ferrocenyl‐3‐(3‐hydroxy­anilino)­but‐2‐en‐1‐one and (Z)‐1‐ferrocenyl‐3‐(4‐hydroxy­anilino)­but‐2‐en‐1‐one

The title compounds, both [Fe(C₅H₅)(C₁₅H₁₄NO₂)], crystallize with Z′ = 2 in the centrosymmetric space group P. In each compound, there is an intra­molecular N—H⋯O=C hydrogen bond, and pairs of inter­molecular O—H⋯O=C hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules into chains, parallel to [10] in the 3‐hydr­oxy compound and parallel to [10] in the 4‐hydr­oxy compound.     

水+3-甲基吡啶+溴化钠三元溶液临界跨接现象

采用折射率法在较宽温度范围内研究了溴化钠、3-甲基吡啶和水的临界质量分数分别为0.240、0.192和0.568体系的临界性质, 发现在近临界点临界指数为0.365, 与Fishe重整化值一致. 有效临界指数随着温度逐渐远离临界点, 从0.365下降到0.20左右, 但当排除了“正规项”的影响后, 展现出向平均场理论值0.5单调跨接的行为.     

Immobilization of antibody fragment for immunosensor application based on surface plasmon resonance

Biosurface fabrication using the Fab′ fragment of immunoglobulin (IgG) was carried out by self-assembly (SA) technique. The pepsin-digested monoclonal antibody (Mab) against bovine insulin containing the F(ab′)₂ fragment and residual proteins was separated using affinity chromatography and dialysis. To prevent the nonspecific binding of F(ab′)₂ onto gold (Au) substrate, the native disulfide bridge was reduced using dithiothreitol (DTT) to convert F(ab′)₂ into Fab′, which made the immobilization to be carried out via the native thiol (–SH) group. The fabricated biosurface using SA technique showed the formation of stable thin film through AFM topography. Through the concentration change of DTT and Fab′, the absorption characteristics against the Au surface were investigated using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with the flow cell. The amount of immobilized antibody fragment and the antigen binding capacity were regulated with respect to the reduction state and concentration of F(ab′)₂. Based on the biosurface of the fabricated Fab′, the insulin-detection was carried out by the measurement of SPR. The proposed antibody surface could successfully detect the bovine insulin at the concentration from 100 ng/mL to 10 μg/mL.     

Preparation of PdCo Bimetallic Hollow Nanospheres and its Electrocatalytic Activity for Oxidation of Formic Acid

The performance of the direct formic acid fuel cell (DFAFC) is considerably higher than the direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) because of some characteristics of formic acid1. For example, formic acid is non-toxic. Formic acid has two orders of magnitude smaller crossover flux through a Nafion membrane than methanol2. 斯蒂芬酸氢铷的制备，晶体结构和热分解机理

A new compound,[RbHTNR]_∞[HTNR:C_6H(NO_2)_3(OH)O],was synthesized by the reaction of rubidium ni-trate and styphnic acid.The molecular structure was characterized using X-ray diffraction analysis,elementalanalysis and FTIR spectroscopy.The crystalline is monoclinic with space group P2_1/n and the empirical formulaC_6H_2N_3O_8Rb.The unit cell parameters are:a=0.4525 nm,b=1.0777 nm,c=1.9834 nm,β=90.47(2)°,V=0.96725 nm~3,Z=4,D_c=2.263 g/cm~3,Mr=329.58,F(000)=640,μ(Mo Kα)=5.165 mm~(-1).The thermal decompo-sition mechanism of the complex was studied by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry(TG-DTG)and FTIR techniques.At the linear rate of 10 ℃/min,the thermaldecomposition of the complex showed three mass reducing processes between 60 and 500 ℃,and finally evolvedRbCN and some gaseous products.     

Adenanthusone,a New Ursane Type Nortriterpenoid from Isodon adenanthus

A new ursane‐type nortriterpenoid, adenanthusone (=(11α,12α)‐4‐demethyl‐11,12‐epoxy‐3,13‐dihydroxy‐2‐oxoursa‐3,20(30)‐diene‐28‐oic acid γ‐lactone; 1 ) was isolated from Isodon adenanthus. Its structure was determined by NMR spectra and X‐ray crystallographic diffraction analysis. The biogenetic implication of the nortriterpene is discussed.     

Submillimeter wave generation by second harmonic operation of tunable gyrotrons

The gyrotrons developed at the University of Sydney are tunable sources of millimetre and submillimetre radiation. The generation of submillimetre wavelengths requires operation at the second harmonic of the electron cyclotron frequency, or higher. Our latest gyrotron, GYROTRON IVA, has successfully achieved second harmonic operation and obtained frequencies up to 590 GHz (=0.51 mm). The experimental results and conditions for second harmonic operation will be presented. The design of a new gyrotron, GYROTRON V, which is especially optimised for the second harmonic, will also be included.
