Model for efficient simulation of spatially incoherent light using the Wiener chaos expansion method
We demonstrate a new and efficient technique for modeling and simulation of spatially incoherent sources using the Wiener chaos expansion method. By implementing this new model, we show that a practical-size photonic structure with a spatially incoherent input source can be analyzed more than 2 orders of magnitude faster compared with the conventional models without sacrificing the accuracy. 相似文献

In this article, we discuss the application of two important numerical methods, Ritz–Galerkin and Method of Fundamental Solutions (MFS), for solving some inverse problems, arising in the context of two‐dimensional elliptic equations. The main incentive for studying the considered problems is their wide applications in engineering fields. In the previous literature, the use of these methods, particularly MFS for right hand side reconstruction has been limited, partly due to stability concerns. We demonstrate that these diculties may be surmounted if the aforementioned methods are combined with techniques such as dual reciprocity method(DRM). Moreover, we incorporate some iterative regularization techniques. This fact is especially veried by taking into account the noisy data with boundary conditions. In addition, parts of this article are dedicated to the problem of boundary data approximation and the issue of numerical stability, ending with a general discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of various methods. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Efficient N-acylation of sulfonamides with both readily available carboxylic acid chlorides and anhydrides has been carried out with catalysis by bismuth(III) salts including BiCl3 and Bi (OTf)3. The reactions proceed rapidly in both heterogeneous and solvent-free conditions and afforded the corresponding N-acylsulfonamides in good to excellent yields. The mild reaction conditions and low toxicity of bismuth salts make this procedure attractive and in close agreement with the goals of green chemistry. Some of the synthesized compounds were evaluated in vitro as antimicrobial agents against representative strains of Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25922, clinical strains of Staphylococcus aureus VISA and Enterococcus spp.) and Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, clinical strains of Klebsiella pneumonia and Escherichia coli) and as antifungal agents against Candida albicans (clinically isolated) by both disc diffusion and minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) methods. All these bacteria and fungi studied were screened against some antibiotics to compare with our chemicals' zone diameters. 相似文献

A new technique for optical correlation using gated holographic recording is demonstrated. Several persistent holograms are localized within separate slices as close as 33 microm apart along the crystal. Individual holograms can be dynamically erased and rerecorded with no need to refresh all other recorded holograms. Experimental results showing the correlation capability, cross talk, shift invariance, and dynamicity of the localized holographic correlator demonstrate unique performance and capabilities for these correlators. 相似文献

We propose a new class of slitless spectrometers using cylindrical beam volume holograms. These holograms disperse an input beam in one direction in an output plane while they do not affect the beam in the perpendicular direction. We show that the spectral mapping of the input beam can be obtained in one direction and the beam can be independently modified in the perpendicular direction. Using this unique property, we demonstrate a spectral wrapping technique to considerably increase the operation spectral range of the slitless spectrometers, without sacrificing their resolution. 相似文献

In this paper, the impact of random synchronization errors on the performance of ground-based telescope array receivers for an inter-planetary optical deep-space communication (ODSC) link is investigated. An adaptive method based on Kalman filters is developed for the synchronization and combination of different telescope signals in the array. An end-to-end simulation platform for ODSC link between Earth and planet Mars is implemented that incorporates pulse-position modulation (PPM), direct-detection array receivers, and photon-counting detectors. The effects of atmospheric turbulence and background noise are also modeled. The performance of array receivers is evaluated in terms of probability of symbol error and achievable data rates. The simulation results show that the Kalman filter-based synchronization scheme keeps the synchronization induced power losses to less than 1 dB. The analysis also shows that in the worst-case operational scenario and presence of random synchronization errors, an array consisting of hundred, 1 m telescopes performs almost similar to a single 10 m telescope. Hence, the degradation in the combined signal due to synchronization errors places a minor limitation on the number of telescopes in a telescope array receiver consisting of up to 100 telescope elements. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new scheme that combines weighted essentially non‐oscillatory (WENO) procedures together with monotone upwind schemes to approximate the viscosity solution of the Hamilton–Jacobi equations. In one‐dimensional (1D) case, first, we obtain an optimum polynomial on a four‐point stencil. This optimum polynomial is third‐order accurate in regions of smoothness. Next, we modify a second‐order ENO polynomial by choosing an additional point inside the stencil in order to obtain the highest accuracy when combined with the Harten–Osher reconstruction‐evolution method limiter. Finally, the optimum polynomial is considered as a symmetric and convex combination of three polynomials with ideal weights. Following the methodology of the classic WENO procedure, then, we calculate the non‐oscillatory weights with the ideal weights. Numerical experiments in 1D and 2D are performed to compare the capability of the hybrid scheme to WENO schemes. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

This paper investigates a numerical method for solving two-dimensional nonlinear Fredholm integral equations of the second kind on non-rectangular domains. The scheme utilizes the shape functions of the moving least squares (MLS) approximation constructed on scattered points as a basis in the discrete collocation method. The MLS methodology is an effective technique for approximating unknown functions which involves a locally weighted least square polynomial fitting. The proposed method is meshless, since it does not need any background mesh or cell structures and so it is independent of the geometry of the domain. The scheme reduces the solution of two-dimensional nonlinear integral equations to the solution of nonlinear systems of algebraic equations. The error analysis of the proposed method is provided. The efficiency and accuracy of the new technique are illustrated by several numerical examples. 相似文献
